1 Integrated Engineering Single Surge Tank Installation Notes IEFUU3 & IEFUU3-A Thank you for purchasing another high quality Integrated Engineering product! This guide is used for installation notes of Integrated Engineering s Surge Tank for AEM 380LPH or Bosh 044 fuel pumps. I E surge tanks are a universal part that can be fitted to many different vehicles and fuel systems. The vehicle installation will vary depending on many variables that will differ on all builds such as surge tank location, fuel fittings, fuel lines, sizes, fuel types, etc. Installing the tank into your vehicle will require custom work and possible fabrication and will differ on every setup. The following guide is intended for fuel pump installation and plumbing schematics only. Kit Contents: (1) Single Pump Surge Tank (1) Fuel pump o ring seal (4) Stainless fuel pump bracket mounts (4) Stainless allen head bracket bolts (4) Self tapping mount screws (4) Mount washers (1) O ring lubricant packet Additional Required Hardware (1) AEM 380LPH or Bosch 044 Fuel Pump (3) -6AN fuel fittings/adapters of choice (not outlined in guide) (1) Fuel pump outlet fitting of choice (not outlined in guide) Wiring supplies (not outlined in guide) Various tools for chassis installation (not outlined in guide)

2 Open your IE Surge Tank Kit, lay out all components on a clean surface, and verify their quantities. Seat the fuel pump o ring into the lower groove of the IE surge tank top plate.

Insert the fuel pump into the surge tank until it bottoms out,

3 Using a clean glove or finger, coat the o ring circumference with the included lubricant. Insert the fuel pump into the surge tank until it bottoms out, making sure the o ring stays seated within the surge tank groove. Note: Fuel pump must be an AEM 380LPH or Bosch 044 only.

Install the included allen head bolts and tighten to 75 inch pounds

4 Place the fuel pump brackets onto the surge tank ensuring the brackets sit above the fuel pump lip and lay flat. Install the included allen head bolts and tighten to 75 inch pounds of torque. Note: do not over-tighten bolts, they can strip the aluminum surge tank threads.

Locate the desired mounting location for your surge tank.

5 Install the -6an o ring boss (PER SAE J514) fittings or adapters desired for you fuel system application to the surge tank top plate and install the fuel pump outlet fitting of choice. Locate the desired mounting location for your surge tank. The mount brackets should be faced upwards or vertical with pump facing up. Install the included self tapping screws and washers through the rubber vibration resistant bushings. Wire your fuel pump to manufacturer recommendations.

You must follow all instructions provided with the IE surge tank. Failure to follow the instructions subjects yourself and others to the risk of bodily injury, death, and property damage and loss. If you are not able to safely and properly install the IE surge tank, please contact IE and IE will recommend a certified installation facility. We are not responsible for negligent installation and/or operation of the IE surge tank, whether installed by the end user or a certified installation facility. By using this surge tank you assume the risk of injury or death to yourself and others as well as property damage and loss. All IE surge tanks undergo rigorous inspection and testing prior to sale. IE cannot insure against the possibility of damage in shipment or upon receipt. You hereby agree to inspect the IE surge tank for any manufacturing flaws or defects, as well as any shipment damage, prior to installing the IE surge tank in your application. As an end user of the IE surge tank, you hereby agree to indemnify and hold harmless IE for any and all general and consequential damages that you or your estate may suffer in the form of property loss due to your purchase, installation, and/or use of the IE surge tank.
