Package 1 Protects: Hood Fenders Mirrors Package 2 Protects: Hood Fenders Mirrors Front Bumper Things to consider Pre Service considerations Kit coverage may vary depending on model Paint Protection Film needs to be installed on a clean surface. 3M suggests thoroughly washing the front of you vehicle, making sure to remove all bug residue and pollution fallout. Using a clay kit is suggested for cars over 6 month old. If grease or tar is present, clean using an approved solvent. If the surface has swirls or scratches, compound and polish as required. Paint Protection does not hide existing paint chips. Repair any pre-existing chips, use an OEM matched touch up paint stick, and allow the paint to cure before having your 3M paint protection film installed. Please note, removal of the film, may lift your small touch ups depending on their adhesion. About this Service Prior to installing the 3M protective film, the exterior of your automobile must be between C. If you are having this service preformed during the winter months, please drop off your vehicle far enough in advance, to allow it to warm in the service bays. DO NOT spray a cold vehicle with hot water as this could cause damage. After your film has been applied, keep the vehicle indoors for about one hour. This will allow any excess moisture to evaporate, and allow for proper adhesion. Post Service maintenance DO NOT USE or drive through a high pressure car washer within the first 24 hours of having this 3M film applied. Once your Paint Protection is installed you should maintain it with quality car care products, in the same manner as the rest of the painted exterior of your car. Be sure to periodically wash it with car soap, and apply an automotive car wax, at least twice per year. If wax builds up on the films edge, it can be removed with a microfiber cloth.

About this Service Window Film drying time varies by season. In the summer months, drying usually takes 3 days. During the winter months, it could take over a week if your vehicle is used infrequently. Ask your installer for more details and tips to help it dry faster. DO NOT USE a heating device (like a blow dryer) to expedite the drying time as this may damage the film. Post Service maintenance DO NOT USE your windows until they are dry. This could take several days. While your windows are drying, you will not be able to raise or lower them. If you frequent drive trough s, or usually lower your windows, you will need to adjust your habits for this period. You, or your installer, should apply a single layer of masking tape over power window or crank mechanism to remind you it shouldn t be used. Lowering your windows before they have dried, could lift the film. This damage is not covered under warranty. When applying the masking tape, only apply one thin layer. 13 3M Scotchprint Wrap Film Series 1080 Things to consider Pre Service considerations These specialty films must be adhered to a clear, dry, warm surface. Vehicles must be thoroughly cleaned and dried prior to any installation. Special care must be taken during winter months. Ask your installer for details. The vehicle that will be wrapped should be kept indoors (in service bay) overnight prior to the installation. This film is not designed to hide imperfections on a vehicles painted surface. Imperfections should be repaired in advance of having this film applied, as the may affect the final applied result. About this Service This installation can only be performed on a vehicle that acclimatized to the service bay. The exterior of your automobile and the service bays must be between C. After the wrap has been installed, your vehicle must remain indoors for 12 hours. This time in necessary to allow the adhesive to bond. Post Service maintenance Special care should be taken to properly maintain any area covered by Scotchprint 1080 films. Please read the provided Questions and Answers section for more details. 3M Scotchprint 1080 CAN NOT BE CLEANED USING HIGH PRESSURE WATER. Maintain your vehicle s exterior by hand washing it. Non Matte finishes can be protected using a high quality synthetic polymer automotive wax that is designed not to leave any residue. 17 3M Scotchprint Wrap Film Series 1080 Questions and Answers 1) Are stripes in carbon fiber films normal? Yes. All films in this series have some texture that is integral in creating these unique looks. The carbon fiber films have the most texture, which appears to have more depth, or texture, in certain lighting conditions, giving a striped look. 2) Can I apply film series 1080 to an older vehicle? All wrap films, including film series 1080, should be applied to a like new vehicle finish for the best results. 3M s warranty only applies to vehicles that have an excellent bond of the paint and its finish to the vehicle substrate. Any rust, bubbling, scratches, dents or other damage will be visible through the film, and such surface imperfections may damage the film or cause the film to fail. 3) Will fingerprints show on the film? The matte product may show finger prints, but they can be cleaned off after the installation is complete by saturating a clean, lint free towel with a 2:1 mixture of Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) and water or straight rubbing alcohol, and then wiping and drying the film. 4) Can scratches be removed? Many surface scratches will disappear when exposed to the sunlight on warm days. Deeper scratches will not come out. Always use care to avoid scratching during installation, maintenance, use and storage of the applied film. 5) How do I maintain the graphics? Care for your vehicle graphics like you would any fine paint finish. Using high quality products designed specifically for car care and these cleaning and maintenance procedures will help keep your 3M vehicle graphics looking their best. A. Gentle cleaning is best Soften difficult contaminants such as bug splatter, bird droppings, tree sap and similar contaminants by soaking them for several minutes with very hot, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry. If further cleaning is needed, test one of these products in an inconspicuous area to ensure no damage to the graphics: Bug and Tar Remover or Citrus Base Cleaner. Isopropyl alcohol (IPA) (two parts IPA to one part water) or denatured alcohol may also help. Spot clean the contaminants. Do not use rough scrubbing or abrasive tools, which will scratch the film. Wash and rinse off all residue immediately. For the best results, use hand washing and a wet, non-abrasive detergent such as 3M Car Wash Soap or Meguiar s Ultimate Car Wash and a soft, clean cloth or sponge. Always rinse thoroughly with clean water. To reduce water spotting, immediately use a silicone squeegee to remove water and finish with a clean microfiber cloth.

18 3M Scotchprint Wrap Film Series 1080 Questions and Answers 5) How do I maintain the graphics? (continued) B. Power washing is an option You can take the vehicle through a brushless car wash. Pressure washing may be used under these conditions. - Ensure the water pressure is kept below 2000 psi (14 MPa). - Keep water temperature below 80 C (180 F). - Use a spray nozzle with a 40 degree wide angle spray pattern. - Keep the nozzle at least 1 foot (300 mm) away from and perpendicular (at 90 degrees) to the graphic. NOTE: Holding the nozzle of a pressure washer at an angle to the graphic may lift the edges of the film. - For the best results, hand dry with a microfiber cloth. C. Wax or maintenance For the carbon fiber and brushed metal films in Scotchprint Wrap Film Series 1080, a wax/maintenance product such as Meguiar s Ultimate Quik Wax or Meguiar s Ultimate Detailer may be used. No polishing compounds or scratch removers are recommended for matte or textured films. D. Film series 1080 can be removed Film series 1080 is warranted to be removable for up to three years after installation, providing the film has not been printed and no overlaminate has been applied. Heat and/or chemicals may be required. Some adhesive residue may be left on the vehicle, which can be easily cleaned off with a product such as 3M Citrus Base Cleaner. E. Removal should not cause damage When used, applied, maintained and removed according to 3M s instructions, film series 1080 should not damage an OEM paint finish upon removal. F. Store the car indoors when possible Vinyl graphics (just like paint) are degraded by prolonged exposure to sun and atmospheric pollutants, particularly on the horizontal surfaces such as hood, trunk lid and roof. Whenever possible, store in a garage or at least in a shaded area during the day. At night protect the car from dew or rain, which may contain acidic pollutants (a common problem in many large metropolitan areas). When a garage is not available, consider using a cloth car cover at night. If your graphics start to discolour or turn brown (which is caused by acidic pollution), immediately remove the graphics from the vehicle to avoid staining the underlying paint. 6) More information on the web! This service will not repair cracks, or any yellowing or cloudiness that may be on the inner side of the lens. You can check if your lenses are candidates for repair by spraying them with water. If they become clear while they are wet, they can be restored. If they remain hazy, the defect is on the inside and can not be corrected with this system. About this Service When the exterior of a headlight lens shows wear, it is the factory applied hard coat which is usually the cause. This coating has succumbed to UV radiation and road abrasion. This system will remove the plastic which contains the defects and exposes fresh, clear plastic to restore clarity and light transmission. Post Service maintenance After this service has been performed you can extend the time between servicing, by periodically cleaning and waxing your headlights. This will help to removed oxidation and contaminants. Road debris will still cause scuffing unless additional protection is added. After having this service performed, you may want to consider having 3M headlight film installed. Applicators reserve the right to refuse service if the vehicle does not meet their needs to offer warranty protection. About this Service Applications of Scotchgard treatments can take up to an hour per area, but post application drying times could take up to 6 hours during winter months. Please book your appointment accordingly and discuss with your applicator different ways to shorten the drying times. The following is a summary of warranty conditions: Scotchgard Fabric and Upholstery Protection If the vehicle fabric covered seats become stained by a water-based or oil-based liquid, 3M will hire the Applicator or a third party service provider to clean or repair the vehicle seat that has been affected and reapply Scotchgard Fabric and Upholstery Protector. Scotchgard Leather & Vinyl Protection If the vehicle leather covered seats, leather covered interior surfaces or vinyl covered interior surfaces crack or fade, or become stained by a water-based or oil-based liquid, then 3M will hire the Applicator or a third party service provider to clean or repair the vehicle seat or other surface that has stained, cracked or faded and reapply Scotchgard Leather and Vinyl Protector.
