1 Toll Free C5 & C4 Brake Bracket Installation Instructions Installation Instructions: Disclaimer All parts should be installed by a certified mechanic if you choose to install them your self you do so at your own risk. In a few short hours you can update your classic car with Speed Tech Performance Ltd new Billet Aluminum Disc Brake adapter bracket. The Billet Aluminum Disc Brake adapter brackets are one of many components to complete your suspension. We recommend you inspect your cars suspension system prior to installation of our kit as tie rods, ball joints, leaf spring bushings and other suspension parts may be worn which could cause adverse effects. Refer to your GM shop manual for further details in completing all of the individual steps required below. If you notice alignment, suspension or brake problems after the installation, these conditions probably existed prior to the installation. We recommend taking your car to a reliable alignment / suspension shop to have the installation performed. If you have the tools and are experienced in this field, be sure to have a professional adjust and review your work as necessary. Below are the Steps in sequence for either the left or right side. Raise the car and securely support the frame.. Remove the wheels from the vehicle. 3. Remove the drums 4. Remove the drum shoes and hardware. 5. Remove the wheel cylinder (have something ready for the brake fluid) 6. Remove the guide bolt on the top boss of the spindle. 7. Remove the dust shield and clean the spindle. Be sure to look for wear and cracks. 8. Using the supplied hardware attach the disc brake bracket on the top first using the flat head cap screw (use a removable thread lock)

2 9. Using the Grade 8 bolts supplied, slide on the tension washer first to the 3/ bolt which is used to reduce wear on the disc brake bracket. 0. Place the steering knuckle back on and cinch down the Stover nuts.. Now go back and cinch down the flat head cap screw on the top boss using the supplied Allen key.. Now is a good time to inspect your wheel bearings and the race in your hub for wear. The wheel hub will have to be turned down /8 overall on the outside diameter to a finished size of 6.00 to fit the inside of the C5 or C4 disc rotors. Below is a list of replacement part numbers for a drum Hub. The part numbers listed are for one side only, you will need two of everything to do both sides. Inner replacement bearing and race SKF Brand, bearing LM67048, race LM6700 or both is a BR Outer replacement bearing and race SKF Brand, bearing LM949 race LM90 or both is a BR6 Bearing seal CR Brand New wheel studs are required; the preferred stud size is a Raybestos 5000B wheel stud which is a direct replacement for you re worn out 7/6 wheel stud. Press in the new wheel studs. 4. Once your hubs are cleaned up, turned down and the wheel studs pressed in along with your races you will need to pack the wheel bearings using a high quality wheel bearing grease. 5. Once the bearings are packed and placed in the hub you will now need to press in the grease seal. 6. Place the hub on the spindle along with the washer and spindle nut. 7. While rotating the hub torque down the spindle nut to foot pounds of torque. 8. Back off the adjusting nut one flat and insert the new cotter pin. If the slot and the hole do not line up, back off the adjusting nut an additional ½ flat or less so that the cotter pin will fit. Tap in your bearing cover. 9. Now install you new C4 rotor left Part numbers AC Delco /678, right part numbers AC Delco 77-75/679

3 0. Install the C5 caliper abutment GM PART # ; you will need of these. Using 4 M4-.0x40mm Allen head cap screws. Torque to 5 foot pounds (DO NOT USE A LOCK WASHER) you can use thread lock if you wish.. Next you will need to install the abutment boots and pins. Lightly lubricate the boot and slip it on the abutment. Lubricate the guide pin and slide it in the abutment making sure you apply silicon grease to the pins before you install them. The best way is to remember that the bleeder screw is always facing up. If you purchased the caliper new it will have come with the appropriate bolts otherwise use GM part number Install the left hand C5 Caliper labeled LF, using part number # Install the right hand C5 Caliper labeled RF, using part number #

4 3. Speed Tech Performance offers a direct replacement universal master cylinder that works well with this setup as well as proportioning valves for either Disc/Disc or Disc/Drum setups. The master cylinder installs without any modifications to your original brake setup. If you wish to locate a master cylinder yourself you will required a 5/6 short stroke master cylinder if you are using your original power booster or a long stroke master cylinder for use without a power booster. 4. I have not provided the type of brake hose as it will vary based on the master cylinder you go with and weather or not you go with performance brake lines or standard lines. The 93 to 97 Camaro flex line fits the caliper and the original hard lines. You can also go with a Hydroboost setup or a C5 997 to 00 master cylinder/power booster setup. 5. Speed tech Performance Ltd. Warrants its products against materials and workmanship failure for the term of 4 months ( years) from the date of purchase and only up to the amount paid.. Seller s liability shall as limited to repairing or replacing, at its option, any defective product which is returned, freight prepaid to Seller, according to the Merchandise Return Procedure set forth in Section 3 below. Buyer shall bear all responsibility for shipping charges and risk of loss or damage during transit to Seller. Products which have been subjected to abuse, misuse, alteration, neglect or unauthorized repair or installation, as determined solely by Seller, are not covered by this warranty. Any alterations, addition, improvements or attachments to the product(s) not authorized in writing by the Seller shall be deemed to be a waiver of this warranty by Buyer and shall render this warranty null and void. Seller shall return repaired or replaced product(s) to Buyer, at its expense via regular ground service in Canada. Shipping charges by all other methods and to all other destinations shall be borne by Buyer. 3. Merchandise return procedure A. If you purchased your Speed tech performance ltd product from us or from an authorized dealer, you are covered by the terms of this policy. All claims however, must be submitted directly to Speed tech performance Ltd. B. Call the customer service representative at C. Provide the invoice number, date of purchase and reason for return D. You will be assigned a Returned Goods Authorization Number (RGA). The package you return must show the RGA on the outside of the package, include the original invoice and be shipped prepaid to our facility. The part has to be in its original packaging materials and be in a sellable condition. For parts presenting signs of use, only warranty claims will be accepted. Exchanges or refunds can be made after 30 days with a 0% restocking charge. E. Ship to seller, freight pre-paid and insured in original packaging. F. Replacement or repair will be made when merchandise is received by seller. No advance replacement is available. How to File a Warranty Claim: The answer to ALL the following questions should be YES before contacting our Customer Service Department. Is the part appropriate to your application? Did you carefully and thoroughly read the instructions provided along with the part? Do you have the proof of purchase? Are you the original purchaser? Is the part unmodified and clean? 6

7 Is the return date within months from the purchase date? Is the reason for return a legitimate product defect? If the answer to all these questions is YES, please contact our Customer Service Department at You will be given a Retuned Goods Authorization Number (RGA) valid for 60 days. You will also be asked to ship the part prepaid to our facility. All shipments MUST be prepaid, include the original invoice and show the RGA on the outside of the package, otherwise it will be refused. Please include a brief explanation letter in order to expedite the warranty analysis process. What doesn t this Warranty Cover? The costs not covered by this warranty include but are not limited to: Removal, installation, shipment and insurance costs. Improper installation or maintenance Misuse or abuse, negligence Damage to related components Normal wear and tear. Costs incurred due to down time of vehicle Alterations on the original design or unauthorized repairs. All warranties implied by law are limited in duration of this warranty.
