4 Parts ATA 12 Servicing AP High Vis Remove Before Flight Flag All BACKGROUND 21jAeroDesign s AP High Vis RBF Flag was developed in response to an EASA Airworthiness Directive with Safety leading the design. Our High Vis RBF Flag is effective in all lighting conditions, however shows the biggest advantage over legacy flags in reduced visibility or darkness. With its highly visible edging, 21jAeroDesign s AP High Vis RBF Flag offers operators a low cost means of increasing the visibility of tooling used in variable lighting conditions, or simply as a straight replacement for legacy flags. As opposed to the cumbersome legacy split ring our High Vis RBF Flag is fitted with a clever Cable Ring that can be either openable or permanently swaged closed. 5 Parts BACKGROUND The Cover secures the Firewire to the Core Fire Detector Support Rail. The Cover can be lost or found damaged during repair/overhaul of the Core Fire Detector Assembly or during removal/installation of the Firewire. 21jAeroDesign s AP49-1 Cover has been introduced as a result of the OEM part becoming non-procurable. 6 Parts ATA 71 Power Plant AP Key Tool Assembly A318/A319/A320/A321 - All MSNs. BACKGROUND EASA and FAA Airworthiness Directives have been issued as a result of several in-flight Fan Cowl Door losses. The Airworthiness Directives mandate modification of the Fan Cowl Door by installation of a new front latch with locking device, requiring a special Key Tool Assembly for opening. Two Key Tool Assemblies must be stowed within the flight deck. 21jAeroDesign s AP Key Tool Assembly offers a cost-effective replacement for lost or damaged OEM parts, or when additional tooling provision is required for maintenance. 21jAeroDesign s Key Tool Assembly has the benefit of a replaceable flag in the case it is soiled or damaged. 7 Parts BACKGROUND A320FAM operators have experienced heavy exfoliation corrosion effecting the Thrust Reverser Adapter Ring Outer Flange on CFM56-5B powered aircraft. The corrosion typically appears on the four lower flange segments at positons #7, #8, #9 and #10. Analysis has shown that the OEM part corrodes due to a combination of factors; low resistance to stresscorrosion cracking (SCC), residual fit-up stress, insufficient surface protection. 21jAeroDesign AP ( )01-0: Interchangeable with all OEM part number variants. Perfect fit = no use of clamps to install = no residual stress. High resistance to SCC & immune to exfoliation corrosion. Structure protected by anodising and a tough layer of adhesive primer. Polyamide epoxy paint applied at interface with engine acoustic panel to protect structure from fretting. 8 Repairs ATA 25 Equipment/ Furnishings Cockpit Door Bolting System Repair A318/A319/A320/A321 - All MSNs REPAIR DESCRIPTION Inspection of the Cockpit Door Bolting System P/N AR4753-1/-7 commonly reveals damage affecting the Upper and Lower Latch Assemblies P/N AR4755-( ), and the Centre Latch Assembly P/N AR4754-( ). The damage typically consists of fretting to the Bolt where it contacts the door frame, resulting in cross-sectional material loss at its edge. The discrepant Latch Assembly is disassembled and the damaged Bolt removed. The damaged Bolt is repaired by replacing missing material and dressing to initial profile. 9 Repairs REPAIR DESCRIPTION The Core Fire Detector Rail Assembly is commonly removed from CFM56-5B powered A320FAM aircraft due to damage affecting the Support Tube. The damage typically consists of full or partial severing of the tube at its joint with the attach plate. The damaged Support Tube is repaired by separating the tube at the break, inserting a repair rod and re-joining the severed sections by fusion/butt welding. Cost effective recovery and repair of damaged part. Repair performed by partner company CRS Technics Limited with guaranteed turnaround time. 10 Repairs ATA 38 Water/Waste Drain Mast Assembly Repair A318/A319/A320/A321 - All MSNs REPAIR DESCRIPTION The Drain Mast Assembly is vulnerable to impact damage due to its location on the aircraft belly and typically experiences corrosion damage at the tube exit hole. The scope covered by this repair includes: Paint repair Repair of crack/split in seam Dent removal Repair of corrosion at tube exit hole Replacement of tube assembly Cost effective recovery and repair of damaged part. The crack end is stop-drilled and a weld repair carried out. Cost effective recovery and repair of damaged part. 12 Repairs ATA 57 Wings Interconnecting Strut Housing Repair A318/A319/A320/A321 - All MSNs REPAIR DESCRIPTION Inspection commonly reveals fretting damage affecting the Interconnecting Strut Housing. The fretting damage is caused by contact between the Housing and an armoured cable. The fretting action results in cross-sectional material loss on the outer surface of the Housing s end diameter. The fretting damage is repaired by removing material from the end diameter, replacing the removed material using high velocity oxygen fuel spraying (HVOF) and machining back to production drawing tolerances. 14 Repairs ATA 71 Power Plant Air Inlet Cowl Pressure Relief Door Assembly Repair CFM56-5B Powered A318/A319/A320/A321 REPAIR DESCRIPTION Inspection during repair and/or overhaul of the CFM56-5B Air Inlet Cowl commonly reveals fretting damage affecting the part number Pressure Relief Door Assembly. The fretting damage typically consists of cross-sectional material loss affecting the integral lug to which the part number S700M Lanyard attaches. The damaged lug is trimmed away from the Pressure Relief Door Assembly and a new lug installed. Cost effective recovery and repair of damaged part. 15 Repairs REPAIR DESCRIPTION Over time the door panel s aft edge at the latch cutout is worn by repeated opening and closing of the latch, until such time the worn section of material becomes weak and breaks away. The damage is cleaned-up by applying a radius to thecorner break at the latch cutout(s). Two cover plates are fabricated from CRES steel sheet and installed.
