COM ). ALL RIGHTS RESERVED, U SED WITH P ERMISSION. CONTENTS Battlelogs: Used Gear Lot is a supplement for Heavy Gear D6, describing everyday vehicles and Gears from the Heavy Gear universe. This supplement also includes designs imported from Dream Pod 9's D20 Mecha Compendium Deluxe Edition, to expand the available options for cilivian designs. New entries for Auxiliary Systems and Features (both positive and negative) are also included to expand the vehicle options available in Heavy Gear D6. NEW AUXILIARY SYSTEMS AND FEATURES CARGO B AY: All vehicles have small compartments to store the crew's personal items, but a Cargo Bay provides a dedicated space to store large amounts of cargo. Each Cargo Bay is rated by its capacity in kilograms or tons, and whether it is open (like a flatbed) or enclosed (the cargo is contained withing the vehicle's hull). CREW ACCOMMODATIONS: The vehicle has sleeping space available for its crew. The accommodations are described by number of passengers and by quality (military-style bunks, first-class staterooms, etc.). EASY TO M ODIFY: The vehicle has been designed to be as simple to repair and refit as possible. Add 1 D to all repair rolls. G EOLOGIC SENSORS: The vehicle is equipped with groundpenetrating radar and other sensors to detect objects underground. Geologic sensors are described by rating and range, just like a vehicle's regular Sensors. I MPROVED OFF-ROAD ABILITY: The vehicle can travel across rough ground much more quickly than others, either because of large balloon tires or high-traction footpads. Vehicles with this feature receive a +5 bonus to any terrain difficulty rolls over rough terrain. LABORATORY: The vehicle has onboard facilities and equipment to aid in some task. Laboratories are described by the bonus they provide (either no negative modifier to the roll, or +1 D or higher) and the skill they are used for (a Laboratory for first aid represents medical equipment, a leadership Laboratory represents an onboard command post, and so on). LIGHT M INING EQUIPMENT: The vehicle is fitted with earthmoving equipment (diggers, blades and/or winches) to perform small-scale mining and excavating. Depending on the character's activities, the Gamemaster may allow a 1 D bonus to any scholar (earth sciences) rolls. LOUDSPEAKER: The vehicle is equipped with one or more loudspeakers to transmit sound over a great distance. M ANIPULATOR ARMS: Gears are usually fitted with arms whose manipulators have the same dexterity and range of motion as human hands. Such arms can usually also be used to punch other Gears; the amount of damage will be noted for arms that can punch. PASSENGER ACCOMMODATIONS: The vehicle has sleeping space available for passengers. The accommodations are described by number of passengers and by quality (military-style bunks, first-class staterooms, etc.).

2 NEW AUXILIARY SYSTEMS AND FEATURES (CONTINUED) REINFORCED CHASSIS: The vehicle is built to take quite a beating. Ignore the first roll on the System Damage Table. RUGGED M OVEMENT SYSTEM : The vehicle has a reinforced power train or multiple power sources. Ignore the first VEngine result on the System Damage Table. SHIELD: Some Gears, usually Dueling or military police models, are fitted with a shield on one arm. A Gear with a Shield will receive an Armor bonus on the shield side (front/left or front/right). The shield side cannot be changed during combat. Some shields can also be used to attack; the amount of damage will be noted for these shields. TOOL ARM : This is an armature fitted with some sort of tool. It can be a crane, a winch, a cherry picker bucket, or many other things. Tool Arms designed for lifting or carrying are rated by their capacity in tons. Some Tool Arms can be used to attack; any that do will note the amount of damage they can cause. VEHICLE B AY: The vehicle has onboard space set aside for storing, fueling and maintaining smaller vehicles. This can describe a compartment for a remote drone or the hangar bay of an aircraft carrier. Vehicle Bays are described in approximate capacity and the type of vehicles carried. EXPOSED CREW COMPARTMENT: The vehicle has light armor protection around the cockpit; in some cases, the cockpit is completely open. Reduce crew damage rolls by 1 D. EXPOSED M OVEMENT SYSTEM : The vehicle s movement system is poorly protected by the vehicle s armor, or is not protected at all. Any roll of 1 on the Damage Table reduces Speed by 2D. LARGE SENSOR PROFILE: Something about the vehicle makes it easier to detect on sensors a high silhouette, or large, flat panels that easily bounce back signals. Apply the value of the Flaw to any roll to detect the vehicle by an enemy s sensors. POOR OFF-ROAD ABILITY: The vehicle does not have a suspension that can handle rolling or rocky terrain vey well. This "flaw" is very common on civilian vehicles that are intended to only be driven on paved roads. Any terrain difficulty rolls for a vehicle with Poor Off-Road Ability are increased by 5.

Beyond hauling boxed cargo or small vehicles, the Camel is often used to transport shipping containers, which are simply set onto the Camel's bed and driven away. MPV-X4 ELAN UTILITY VEHICLE, 4 passengers SPEED: 7D+1 (Ground) ARMOR: 1 D COMMO: -1 D (5 km) ARMAMENTS: Pintle mount available, no weapon supplied Hostile Environmental Protection (Desert), Searchlight (50 m, fixed forward), Exposed Crew Compartment The Elan is a "dune buggy" found throughout the South. The design's adaptability is matched only by its longevity; Southern museums have Elan models in their collections that were manufactured two hundred cycles ago. ANTELOPE UTILITY VEHICLE, 3 passengers SPEED: 5D (Ground) ARMOR: 0D+2 ARMAMENTS: Pintle mount available, no weapon supplied Easy to Modify, Exposed Crew Compartment The Antelope is just one of many "jeep"-style utility vehicles found all over Terra Nova. Antelopes and their cousins are equally popular in civilian and military use, but their open tops provides no protection from shrapnel or small arms fire.

The vehicle's top can be removed, but it is usually left in place to keep cargo from falling out during off-road travel or sudden maneuvers. 5-TON TRANSPORT, 2 passengers M ANEUVER: 0D SPEED: 4D (Ground) ARMOR: 1 D+1 ARMAMENTS: Pintle mount available, no weapon supplied Cargo Bay (5200 kg, open), Large Sensor Profile (1 D), Poor Off-Road Ability The 5-Ton Transport is a typical "prime mover" in military service. Such transports have been around as long as there have been motorized armies, cheaply and efficiently moving goods from one place to another. TANKER, 2 passengers M ANEUVER: -1 D SPEED: 3D+2 (Ground) ARMOR: 1 D+2 ARMAMENTS: None fitted Cargo Bay (1 6,000 liters, enclosed), Hostile Environment Protection (Desert) Tankers and their immense fuel loads make modern warfare possible. Crews often compete to see how quickly - and safely - they can refuel a squad of Gears or a platoon of tanks.

5 PASSENGER CAR, 3 passengers M ANEUVER: 1 D SPEED: 6D+2 (Ground) ARMOR: 0D+2 COMMO: None (see below) ARMAMENTS: None fitted None The Paxton Butler is one of many passenger sedan models found all over Terra Nova. Cars like these provide no-frills transportation for individuals and small groups. Two-way radios are not fitted as standard equipment on passenger cars, but are a common aftermarket accessory. An example fitted to undercover police vehicles has a rating of 1 D and a range of 5 kilometers. POLICE CAR, 1 passenger, 2 in locked rear compartment SPEED: 8D+1 (Ground) ARMOR: 1 D ARMAMENTS: None COMMO: 2D (1 0 km) Hostile Environment Protection (Desert), Loudspeaker, Searchlight (50m range, swivel) The Paxton Bulldog represents the state of the art of Terranovan law enforcement vehicles. Along with the backseat "cage" that is isolated from the front seats, the Bulldog also has a onboard computer linked to the local police department's data network. A well-stocked first aid kit and investigative equipment are stored in the trunk. It is agile enough to go almost anywhere. The Wallaby is an all-terrain vehicle used both for recreation and for military reconnaissance. It does not have the flat-out speed of a Jackrabbit, but its off-road performance make the Wallaby a valuable scout vehicle. Cargo Bay (saddle bags, 250 kg capacity), Exposed Crew Compartment, Exposed Movement System VARIANTS: Jackrabbits can be fitted with a sidecar that can carry an additional passenger and either an additional 200 kg of cargo or a pinlte-mount for a forward-firing support weapon. Although capable of operating for significant periods on its own, the Demeter is usually accompanied by satellite vehicles. An armed escort also accompanies a Mobile Research Farm group, to safeguard the scientists and their valuable equipment. Utterly reliable and incredibly easy to customize, there are nearly as many Longrunner variants as there are individual vehicles.

8 NV-225 BEHEMOTH GEAR TRANSPORT SV-888 BARNABY GEAR TRANSPORT The Behemoth is a Gear transporter in Northern service. Five Gears and their pilots are carried in the Behemoth's massive interior to reduce wear and tear on the Gears. The Gear pilots ride along in jump seats, though in some Behemoths produced during the War of the Alliance the pilots had to ride inside their Gears. The Barnaby is the standard Southern Gear transporter. Behemoths were loaned to Southern forces during the War of the Alliance, and Southern vehicle designers used their experience with the Behemoth to make a new vehicle with a much more rugged chassis and transmission. Only a few Hardhats are still known to exist, but Groundhogs can be found throughout the North on construction sites and factory floors. Another Hardhat descendant, the Prairie Dog is a prospecting vehicle fitted with a high-quality geophysical sensor suite. It is slightly more nimble than the Groundhog, and its enclosed cockpit makes for a more comfortable ride. Its hands may be replaced with a variety of tools, from chainsaws to plasma torches. The Deepwoods is a logging vehicle, as suggested by its name and its massive chainsaw arm attachment. It is being marketed as a cheaper civilian alternative to the Engineering Cobra for work in the South's immense ferngrove forests. At nearly five meters, its height keeps the Deeprock from operating in all but the largest underground mines and tunneling projects. The Steeplejack is a unique construction vehicle. Its extralong arms allow it to manage heavy loads at much greater distances and heights than typical work Gears. Because of this, the Steeplejack's cockpit is open for maximum pilot visibility. Light Mining Equipment,* 2 x Manipulator Arms (each can punch for 2D+1 damage)* N OTES: * The Deeprock's digging glove covers one of its hands. When the glove is fitted, that Arm counts as a Tool Arm with a capacity of 9 tons. The glove may be jettisoned at the cost of one action.
