More than a century s experience, high quality work by skilled craftsmen and a unique firing process have all made Yorkshire Flowerpots the UK s foremost manufacturer of 100% frostproof flowerpots. Our History Naylor s was founded in 1890 following the discovery of a rich seam of Yorkshire clay during the construction of the Denby Dale Viaduct. The great-grandfather of current MD Edward Naylor set up the company to produce underground drainage pipes. Its pipes are still used today and enjoy a reputation for durability in the toughest conditions. The range of flowerpots and gardenware is a more recent innovation, but the company has combined its industrial heritage with modern design to make a durable, desirable product that is 100% made in Yorkshire and guaranteed to last a lifetime. Durability, high quality and creativity have been close to the company s heart ever since it was founded. Unlike products fired at lower temperatures in warmer climates overseas, Naylor s locally-sourced clay is fired to the highest temperatures - in excess of 1050 degrees centigrade. This ensures the products have a toughness which makes them more than a match for the rigours of a British winter. 4 Welcome to Yorkshire Flowerpots Why our pots are Frostproof 2 Yorkshire Flowerpots has adopted a firing process known as vitrification used to produce drainage pipes that will withstand the rigours of all types of climates. This high temperature firing process is also ideal for gardenware. The planters are fired to temperatures in excess of 1050 c for up to five days to produce a blue core with incredible strength within the pot - thereby rendering it frostproof. Yorkshire Flowerpots are: + Made from robust Yorkshire natural red clay + Fired to temperatures in excess of 1050 c + Manufactured with a high strength blue core + Independently freeze / thaw tested to -15 c Frostproof Last a lifetime Guarantee Statement Reflecting the high quality of the Yorkshire Flowerpot range, we have introduced a unique pledge, guaranteeing that all Yorkshire Flowerpots are frostproof for life. The lifetime pledge guarantees resilience to temperatures of minus 15 c and offers all-year peace of mind. The contrast is with imported pots, many of which are sold as frost resistant, despite being manufactured in warmer climates which do not prepare them for harsh winters. The Yorkshire Flowerpots Last a Lifetime guarantee refers to frost damage (not breakages caused by dropping etc.) and is applicable for a period of 50 years. Any pots found to be damaged by frost within this period will be replaced not credited. A photo of the damaged pot must be supplied. 5 Designed stylish 100% Made in Yorkshire 100% Guaranteed Frostproof Yorkshire Flowerpots aims to combine its industrial heritage with modern designs to make a durable and yet desirable product. The stylish look of the pots has been achieved with input from some of Britain s leading designers, as part of a government backed Design Council project. Hand crafted 3 We use local clays from our own quarries. Because of the nature of clay used in our products, lime bloom and salts will occur as natural efflorescence, but this is not detrimental to the frostproof performance of the Yorkshire Flowerpots range. Whilst we have modern equipment and use state-of-the-art environmental friendly kilns, all of our larger pots are handmade by skilled craftsmen, each of whom has decades of experience in clay manufacturing. Each one is individually stamped and has the uniqueness associated with a handmade product. Our largest landscaping items are distinguished in this brochure with the symbol opposite. Hand finished With the exception of our Landscape of larger pots, the majority of the Yorkshire Flowerpots range is machine finished. However, despite the technology invested in Yorkshire Flowerpots, some of our products still need an element of handfinishing to give it that final touch. Machine finished Over 2m has been invested on the latest technology to produce a range of planters that are particularly suited to British climate. The planters are fired to temperatures in excess of 1050 c for up to 5 days in order to produce a blue core of incredible strength within the pot - thereby rendering it frostproof.

All prices are exclusive of VAT. Carriage Minimum carriage paid load size is 500 nett value excluding VAT. Orders below carriage paid load size will be charged at 50 per pallet. Payment Unless otherwise stated all invoices are payable by the end of the month following the month of delivery. Claims All claims for breakages and shortages must be notified to Naylor s in writing within five working days from date of delivery. Broken items should be retained for inspection.
