These forms are the main reason for delays., they are frequently fficorrect, marked up with changes or illegible and must be returned to the builder or inspector. Transport Canada Airworthiness Manual chapter 549 (including exemptions) is difficult to understand, bet's run through fonn , INITIAL,A:PPLICATION FOR.fig. SPECIAL CERTIFICATE OF AIRWORTHThE. S FOR AMATEUR BUILT AIRCRAFT, While filling out the form read chapter 549, plus exemption to 5 49 appendix A (23 April 2002), along with the followm' g details. On this form each box, numbered 1 through 29, must be filled out. Some of the entries are obvious, others require a little thought. When filling out Box 13 to 25 use metric or imperial measurements, not both. in all the above calculations chapter 549 takes precedence and remains the only Transport Canada approved method of calculation.
