2 NAME: PHOENIX 1 BUILT: 1983 REBUILT: 2003 UPGRADES: 2003 to 2011 The 2003 refit was as a result of a fire confined to the gymnasium (aft), saloon and the aft section of the boat deck in December The engine room and drive trains were not adversely affected. The engines were soft mounted on polyflex mounts, the couplings also had flexible couplings fitted from the same manufacturer. The exhaust system which was completely new in 2001 is of total stainless steel construction. The mufflers are fitted with a gas purifying feature which aids in the reduction of exhaust fume/smell.
