Royams are extremely safety conscious Royams believe in safety first, all materials used comply with the strict requirements laid down in the Furniture & Fittings (Fire & Safety) Regulations Act of Where electric motors are used they are concealed, isolated, insulated and splash proof. Hand control units are of a low voltage and are thoroughly tested for absolute safety. Detachable hand controls are fitted to all riser-recliners. Enquire with your stockist about Royams Advanced Safety System (A.S.S) which is available as an optional extra. Craftmanship Quite simply, it's what we have built our reputation on. The quality of the materials are given the skill and dedication they deserve. We use the finest quality seasoned Beech, harvested from a managed renewable source. All Royams furniture is built completely by hand in the timed honoured way in Great Britain. Free-Fall Back System This unique system is fitted to all Dual Riser-Recliners as standard. The unique Free-fall Back System helps to prevent damage to the motors and mechanism if the chair is accidentally reclined against a fixed object. The back will have some movement when in the seated position, this allows the system to function correctly. Fabrics. Leathers & Vinyls Choose from a wide range of fabrics, including leather, waterproof fabrics and Crib 5 fabrics suitable for contract use. Please do not hesitate to contact us for any special requirements. Customers own fabric service available. Please be advised that all pile fabrics are susceptible to creasing and shading. Materials used comply with the strict requirements laid downin the Furniture, & Fittings Fire & Safety Regulations Act of Drop Arm Easy push button drop arm high chair, allowing easy slide over for wheelchair users. Castors & Glides We choose orbit style castors, widely regarded as the very best, allowing 360 degree movement for cleaning purposes. Battery Backup For peace of mind, power-operated chairs have an emergency battery back-up system. Fitted as standard to Duo Risers is a Quadruple Battery Back Up System and to Monos a Double Battery Back Up System. Batteries must be changed after emergency use and checked periodically. Battery back-ups are not fitted to Patented lifts seats, such as Appleby, Preston and Lancaster designs. How it works! The advanced system is designed to not allow your chair to be lowered when in the raised position unless someone is sitting in the chair. Never leave heavy objects on the seat as this may allow the chair to be lowered accidentally. Please enquire about any further information from your stockist. Quick Release Handset Ensures there is no unauthorized use of the recliner e.g. by children. Detaching the handset renders the chair inoperable. Sprung Loaded Footrest Reduces the risk of accidental entrapment under the footrest 44

For ease of operation the large control buttons easily indicate the position to be achieved, back, footrest and lift. Buttons are colour-coded so that the universal colour danger - red - is used for the button which lowers the chair from standing position. Pure comfort is only a touch away. Petite, Standard & Kingsize Petite riser recliner chairs accommodate body weights of 20 stone (127 kilograms) Standard riser recliner chairs accommodate a body weight of 25 stone ( 158 kilograms) Kinsgsize riser recliner chairs accommodate a body weight of 40 stone (254 kilogarms) MONO allows the user to operate both the back and footrest at the same time. Tilt in Space (TIS) MONO allows the footrest to be partially elevated, the back then reclines and the whole chair tilts on it's own axis, causing nil sheer factor on the back. On a TIS recliner the base moves in harmony with the back. The back does not recline to a nearly flat position. DUAL motor action allows the user to operate the back and footrest independently.
