To ensure operator safety and to prevent potental property damage,tennant Company mandates that the exstng control box assembly be replaced wth the Control Box Kt (p/n 9000). For more nformaton, refer to Techncal Servce Bulletn # 10. To determne f the machne n queston has been updated wth the new Control Box Kt, refer to the pcture below.! 11 CHARGING BATTRIS ATTNTION: To prolong the lfe of the batteres only recharge the batteres f the machne was used for a total of 0 mnutes or more. Do not leave batteres dscharged for lengthy perods. T Mantenance (Page 1 of 1) To change the settng, unplug the charger, peel up the corner of the dsplay label and set the swtches accordngly (Fg. 1). The charger cord must be unplugged when resettng. WARNING: Fre Or xploson Hazard. Batteres mt Hydrogen Gas. Keep Sparks And Open Flame Away. Keep Battery Compartment Open When Chargng. To verfy what the charger s currently for, connect the charger cord nto an electrcal receptacle. The charger wll dsplay a sequence of codes. One of the codes wll ether read GL or Acd (Fgure 0). 12 T Mantenance (Page of 1) USING AN OFF -BOARD BATTRY CHARGR (OPTION) 1. Transport the machne to a well--ventlated area.. Park the machne on a flat, dry surface. Turn the key off and set the parkng brake, f equpped.. If chargng wet (lead acd) batteres, check the flud level before chargng (See BATTRY MAINTNANC).. Prop up the recovery tank for ventlaton (Fgure ). M FIG. 6. The charger wll dsplay a sequence of codes once the cord s connected (Fgure ). Three--dgts + the followng code: A = Chargng current U = Battery Voltage h = Chargng tme C = Chargng ampere--hours [Ah] = nergy used [Kwh] GL or Acd = Battery type the charger s currently set for. Before chargng make sure your battery type matches the dsplay: GL=Sealed, Acd=WT (lead acd). To change settng, see ON--BOARD CHARGR STTINGS. Press the arrow button to revew the codes. FIG.. Connect the charger s DC cord nto the machne s battery receptacle (Fgure 6). 6. Connect the charger s AC power supply cord nto a properly grounded receptacle (Fgure 6). FIG. 7. Once the chargng cycle begns, the ndcator lghts wll progress from red, yellow to green. When the green ndcator lght comes on, the chargng cycle s done. Unplug the charger cord. If the charger detects a problem, the charger wll dsplay an error code (See ON--BOARD BATTRY CHARGR RROR CODS). FIG The suppled charger wll automatcally begn chargng and shut off when fully charged. NOT: The machne wll not operate when chargng. ATTNTION: Do not dsconnect the charger s DC cord from the machne s receptacle when the charger s operatng. Arcng may result. 14 T Mantenance (Page of 1) M ADJUSTING SCRUB HAD BRUSHS To ensure optmum scrubbng performance perodcally check the scrub head for proper adjustment. FOR SAFTY: Before adjustng scrub head, stop machne on level surface, remove key and set parkng brake f equpped. DISK MODL Tools requred: Measurng devce, 7mm (1--1/16 n) wrench and mm (1/16 n) wrench 1. Wth brushes nstalled, lower the scrub head and apply medum brush pressure.. Turn machne off and remove key.. From the center front and back of scrub head, measure the dstance from the top edge of scrub head to the floor (Fgure 7). CYLINDRICAL BRUSH MODL After nstallng a new set of cylndrcal brushes check the brush pattern to ensure proper brush adjustment. Brushes that are not properly adjusted wll result n premature wear and poor scrubbng performance (Fgure 9). Uneven Pattern CORRCT BRUSH PATTRN INCORRCT BRUSH PATTRNS FIG. 9 ven Pattern Tapered Pattern To Inspect the Brush Pattern: 1. Poston the machne on a dry dusty floor or apply a powdered substance, such as chalk.. Dsconnect the drve motor wre connector to keep machne from movng forward (Fgure 0). FIG. 7. If scrub head s not level, loosen the lock nut and turn the scrub head levelng screw to level. Tghten down the lock nut once head s level (Fgure 8). FIG. 8 Lock Nut FIG. 0. Lower the scrub head to the floor and apply maxmum brush pressure.. Shut off the soluton flow.. Pull the control handle bal to create a brush pattern on the floor. 6. Rase the scrub head and pull the machne away. 7. Observe the brush pattern on floor. If the brush pattern s uneven or tapered, adjustment s requred. 8. 15 T Mantenance (Page of 1) To Adjust an Uneven Brush Pattern: Tools requred: Measurng devce, 7mm (1--1/16 n) wrench and mm (1/16 n) wrench 1. Measure the dstance from the front edge of the scrub head to the floor and from the back edge of the scrub head to the floor (Fgure 1). The measurements should be the same. To Adjust a Tapered Brush Pattern: Tools requred: 10mm (/8 n) wrench and 6mm hex wrench 1. Rase the scrub head off floor and remove key.. Remove the dler plate from the brush (Fgure ). M FIG. 1. To level the scrub head, loosen the lock nut and turn the levelng screw clockwse to lower the rear of the scrub head or counter--clockwse to lower the front (Fgure ). FIG.. Hold the brush plug shaft wth a wrench and loosen the 6mm hex screw (Fgure ). FIG.. Recheck brush pattern. NOT: Replace brushes when worn to 1mm (/8 ). FIG.. To lower the brush end, turn the shaft clockwse for the front brush and counter--clockwse for the rear brush. Retghten hex screw (Fgure ). FIG.. Recheck brush pattern. Remove the debrs tray and empty (Fgure 9) To keep the machne n good workng condton, t s mportant that the followng mantenance procedures are performed on a routne bass. WARNING: lectrcal Hazard. Dsconnect Battery Cables Before Servcng Machne. M DAILY MAINTNANC (After very Use) 1. Dran the recovery tank (Fgure 6). FIG. 9. Dran the soluton tank (Fgure 60). FIG. 6. Rnse and clean out the recovery tank (Fgure 7). FIG Clean the soluton tank flter (Fgure 61). FIG. 7. Remove the recovery tank float shut--off screen and clean (Fgure 8). Rotate brushes from front--to--rear every 0 hours (Fgure 6). Replace when worn to a length of 1mm (/8 ). FIG Check the condton of the squeegee blade wpng edge (Fgure 67). Rotate blade f worn (See SQUG BLADS). M 1mm (/8 ) FIG. 6 Cylndrcal Brush Model 10. Remove debrs buldup from the undersde of the cylndrcal brush scrub head, ncludng the dler plates and drve hubs (Fgure 6). FIG Clean the machne wth an all purpose cleaner and damp cloth (Fgure 68). FOR SAFTY: When cleanng machne, do not power spray or hose off machne. lectrcal malfuncton may occur. Cylndrcal Brush Model FIG Wpe the squeegee blades clean (Fgure 66). 18 T Mantenance (Page 8 of 1) 1. Inspect the condton of the scrub head skrt, replace f worn or damaged (Fgure 69). MONTHLY MAINTNANC 1. Check the cylndrcal brush belt tenson every 100 hours (Fgure 7). Belt tenson should flex mm (0.1 n) at mdpont, wth Kg (.--.7 lbs) force. WARNING: lectrcal Hazard. Dsconnect Battery Cables Before Servcng Machne. M Dsk Model FIG. 69 Cylndrcal Brush Model 1. FaST Model: Connect the FaST--PAK supply hose to the storage plug when not n use (Fgure 70). Remove any dred concentrate from the hose connector by soakng t n warm water. Cylndrcal Brush Model FIG. 7. Inspect and clean the recovery tank cover seal (Fgure 7). Replace f damaged. FIG Clean wet/lead acd batteres to prevent corroson and check for loose battery cable connectons (See BATTRY MAINTNANC). 17. Recharge the batteres (Fgure 71). 19 . Clean the parkng brake clamp wth a cleanng solvent. 6. Check the machne for loose nuts and bolts. 7. Check the machne for leaks. T Mantenance (Page 9 of 1) BATTRY MAINTNANC (Wet/lead acd batteres) 1. Check battery flud level frequently to prevent battery damage. The flud should be at the level shown (Fgure 7). Add dstlled water f low. DO NOT OVRFILL, the flud may expand and overflow when chargng. FIG. 76 SQUG BLADS When the blades become worn, smply rotate the blades end-for-end or top-to-bottom to a new wpng edge. Replace blades when all edges are worn. The front blades on the 700mm/800mm squeegee assembles have 1/1 slots on one edge and 6 slots on the opposte edge (Fgure 77). If makng sharp turns wth the cylndrcal brush models use the 1/1 slotted edge for maxmum water pckup. FaST SYSTM MAINTNANC very 1000 hours replace the orfce plate and flter screen located nsde the detergent njector assembly. Load the machne usng a ramp that can support the machne weght and person loadng t. The maxmum ramp nclne should not exceed 11 at a ramp length of.7m (1 ft).. Poston the front of machne up aganst the front of the traler or truck. Lower the scrub head and squeegee.. Set the parkng brake, f equpped, and place a block behnd each wheel to prevent the machne from rollng.. Secure wth te--down straps as shown (Fgure 8). It may be necessary to nstall te-down brackets to traler or truck. If storng machne n freezng temperatures, make sure to dran machne of all water. For models equpped wth the FaST System, follow the FaST SYSTM FRZ PROTCTION procedure below. FaST SYSTM FRZ PROTCTION Valve Couplng #10086 and 1 cm Hose #618 are requred (Purchased separately). 1.
