MBPKG-A Rapid Deployment Maxa Beam Package: The Rapid Deployment Maxa Beam Package contains the critical equipment that you need to operate the Maxa Beam in visible light applications. This package features the new MBP-1307 Lithium-Ion Battery with Built-In Charger. The Li-Ion Battery weighs just 2.1 pounds and recharges from a VAC or VDC source using the included AC & DC adapter cables. MBPKG-B Basic Maxa Beam Package: The Basic Maxa Beam Package is an economical starter package for applications that do not require continuous use. The NiCad battery pack charges overnight using the included trickle charger. The MBPKG-B Basic Package differs from this package in that the MBPKG-B has a Trickle Charger (24 hr. recharge) and the MBPKG-B-DOD includes the Multi-Voltage Smart Charger (2.5 hr. recharge). Each NiCad battery will power the searchlight for 90 minutes on regular beam power (110 minutes on battery saver mode) and can be recharged in 2.5 hours from a VAC or VDC power source. The multi-voltage charger can be secured to a horizontal surface using the installed mounting brackets. The Deluxe Package also includes a 5 foot coiled power cord, two cushioned battery shoulder straps, a padded filter pouch and a large storage case. 5 MOUNTED SEARCHLIGHT PACKAGES MBPKG-E RS232 Watertight Enclosure System: Specifically designed for harsh maritime conditions, the Watertight Enclosure is constructed of 6061 passivated aluminum and provides a secure, weatherproof environment for the Maxa Beam Searchlight. Several options are available, including voltage range, control method and output level. The MBPKG-E is a 12V enclosure with a standard output of 7.5 million candlepower. The enclosure is powered and controlled via RS232 protocol from a single 12-pin metal connector. The Watertight Enclosure system is compatible with all Maxa Beam filters (see page 17). There are several variations of the RS232-controlled Watertight Enclosure System available. Please contact the factory for more information about creating a custom system for your application. 6 MBPKG-H1 Maxa Beam Permanent Vehicle Mount System: This newly developed system allows the Maxa Beam to be mounted securely to the roof of a military HMMWV. The searchlight mount bonds to the roof with epoxy adhesive, meaning that no drill holes through the vehicle armor are necessary. The light is powered from the vehicle s 24V battery and the operator remotely controls the Maxa Beam from within the vehicle. The MBPKG-H1 Permanent Vehicle Mount System contains the MBS-430 Wired Remote Searchlight (no handle) and includes mil. spec. metal connectors, shielded cable, and a fully shrouded, hinged mount. MBP AH Lithium-Ion Rechargeable Battery with Built-In VAC / VDC Charger: The NEW Lithium-Ion Battery offers a significant leap in technology over older battery chemistries. The Li-Ion is lighter weight (2.1 lbs. vs. 5.5 lbs.) and has a longer run time (110 min. vs. 90 min. on normal power) than the traditional MBP-1207 NiCad Battery. The new Li-Ion battery also features a five-level LED fuel gauge and a built-in charger, meaning that you no longer need an external charging unit such as the MBP-5200 to recharge your Maxa Beam batteries. The Li-Ion battery is compatible with all Maxa Beam searchlights. For the battery to recharge, it must be connected to a VAC power source using the MBP-5003 AC Adapter to or an VDC source using the MBP-5230 DC Adapter. (Note: If you already own an MBP-5200 Series Maxa Beam Charger, the AC and/or DC adapter that plugs into your current charger can plug directly into the new Li-Ion battery for recharging; no additional adapters need to be purchased.) MBP AH NiCad Rechargeable Battery Pack: The NiCad Rechargeable Battery has been tested and proven in the field for more than a decade. These batteries are rated at 1000 cycles and can be conditioned for optimum performance on the MBP-5200 and MBP-5600 Series chargers. MBA-6005 Battery Shoulder Strap: This deluxe air-cushioned, contoured battery shoulder strap can be attached to opposite corner ears of both the MBP-1307 Li-Ion and the MBP-1207 NiCad batteries for easy carrying from the shoulder. This adapter can be connected directly to MBP-5600 Series Chargers/Direct Power Supplies to recharge NiCad batteries or directly power the searchlight from the vehicle s power source. Note: The MBP is included with the MBP-5600-M Charger/Direct Power Supply. MBP-7406 NATO Adapter, 24 VDC, for use with MBP-1307 Li-Ion Battery & 5200/5600 Chargers: This adapter connects to a universal NATO receptacle to access a military vehicle s 24 VDC power source. This adapter can be connected directly to the MBP-1307 Li-Ion Battery for recharging and can also be connected to any MBP-5200 or MBP-5600 Series Charger for recharging NiCad Batteries or directly powering the searchlight (MBP-5600 Series Chargers only). Note: The MBP-7406 is included with the MBP-5600-HV Charger/Direct Power Supply. MBP-7406-M NATO Adapter with Metal Connector, 24 VDC, for use with MBP-4024-M and MBP-4048-M Converters: This adapter connects to a universal NATO receptacle to access a military vehicle s 24 VDC power source. This adapter can be connected to the MBP-4024-M and MBP-4048-M converters with metal connectors. MBA-7500 Adapter for Dual BA-5590 Military Batteries: This adapter is designed to connect the Maxa Beam searchlight to a pair of BA-5590 military batteries. The adapter attaches to the searchlight s standard power cord. 12

13 MBP-3100 Drop-In Trickle Charger, 120/220 VAC: This overnight trickle charger is an economical alternative to the MBP and MBP-5600 Series chargers and will recharge a NiCad battery in 18 hours with an input of 120/220 VAC (switchable). 17 FILTERS MBA nm Sharp Cut-On Semi-Covert Infrared Filter: This filter has a sharp cut-on at 715nm and passes the greatest amount of infrared energy of all of the Maxa Beam filters. When this filter is attached, a red glow is visible to the naked eye. It is useful for nature studies, extreme long range surveillance and search applications where total covertness is not required. It is compatible with Gen. 2 & 3 night vision equipment and IR sensitive cameras. With this filter attached, the Maxa Beam has an effective range of up to 2,500m. MBA nm Sharp Cut-On Covert Infrared Filter: This filter has a sharp cut-on at 850nm and better than 90% pass efficiency above 850nm. A red glow can only be seen if the light is boresighted and observed against a dark background at close range. It is useful for surveillance and search applications where background lights (such as those in urban areas) will mask its glow. It is compatible with Gen. 2 & 3 night vision equipment and IR sensitive cameras. With this filter attached, the Maxa Beam has an effective range of up to 1,200m. It is compatible with IR sensitive cameras and is virtually undetectable to the naked eye and most night vision equipment. 18 MBA-1500 Amber Smoke/Fog Filter: This filter has been optimized to produce an intense amber beam for maximum penetration in fog, haze and smoke. MBA-2100 Maxa Beam Ultraviolet (UV) Filter: This filter blocks out all infrared and most visible light. With this filter attached, the Maxa Beam will have a faint blueish-purple color to it. The UV energy that the filter will pass through is in the nm range. This range includes UVA (black light) which makes certain pigments fluoresce. MBA-3000 Diffusion Filter: This filter provides a wide, evenly lit field of light when the searchlight is in the flood mode and a narrower, brighter, evenly lit field of light when the light is in the spot position. It is useful for temporary site lighting and short range search applications. This filter can also be used with any of the Maxa Beam Infrared filters for evenly lit short range covert surveillance applications. For longer range applications where an even field of view is desired, the MBA-3015 Collimating Lens is recommended. MBA-3015 Collimating Lens: This lens uses plano convex lens technology to collimate the Maxa Beam s beam of light and redirect the spill light back into the beam. This results in an even field of view free from any dark spots. The effects of this lens differ from those of the MBA-3000 Diffusion Filter because the lens is focusing the excess light inward rather than diffusing the light outward. This lens is useful for longer range use of the light in flood mode. MBA-3020 Peripheral Vision Filter: This filter provides a hot center beam with a wide band of light extending to either side. It is useful for wide area search applications as it cuts down on the amount of light that is reflected back at the operator due to atmospheric conditions. This filter can also be used with any of our covert IR filters for surveillance applications. 18

19 MBA-2005 Protective Lens / Dust Cover: This clear glass lens can be attached over the Maxa Beam s front lens for protection from dust or airborne objects. MBA-2150 Sharp Cut-Off Filter (11.25 ): This filter blocks the view and retroflections of the searchlight s lens from an observer who is viewing at an off-axis angle greater than Its application is to shield the position of the searchlight from a subject s view until they have entered the illuminated area. MBA-3075 Stacking Filter Ring Adapter: This option allows any filter to be stacked on top of the adapted filter. It can be installed on any filter except for the MBA-2150 filters. MBA-6100 Padded Filter Pouch: This pouch is designed to protect a Maxa Beam filter. Includes Velcro closure and loops to attach to operator s belt. 19

20 MOUNTS MBA-3600 Searchlight Tripod Mount: This plate slides onto the base of the searchlight (similar to how the searchlight battery attaches) and allows the light to be mounted to a standard tripod s! -20 stud. The light can be quickly released from this plate for portable handheld use. MBA-3660 Uni-Clamp Fluid Pan/Tilt Head: This clamp allows the Maxa Beam to be mounted to bars, pipes and poles up to 2 wide. A removable wedge is used to mount to flat objects (such as table tops, windowsills, etc.).
