4 NMEDA/QAP QAP (Quality Assurance Program) NMEDA s Quality Assurance Program (QAP) is the only nationally recognized accreditation program for the adaptive mobility equipment industry. NMEDA members compliance with FMVSS is mandatory and NHTSA recommends that consumers contact NMEDA to locate a qualified dealer.
5 NMEDA/QAP All QAP Dealers are Required to: Maintain Product, Completed Operations and Garage Keepers insurance Employ certified welders and certified technicians Maintain quality records of all adaptive work Utilize calibrated tools to ensure safety and accuracy Manufacture/sell mobility equipment with minimum warranties Undergo an annual audit ensure compliance to NMEDA Guidelines, ADA, and NHTSA FMVSS Abide by the Mediation Committee s decisions when a complaint is lodged by a consumer, a dealer, or any other person or entity Provide 24/7 emergency service to customers Have ADA compliant facilities
