1 BlueCAT 300 Emission Control System UPDATE: New Retrofit Kits Are Now Available Meet Fleet Requirements With New Retrofit Kits We are pleased to announce that BlueCAT retrofit kits are now available for engines greater than 3.0 liters. New part numbers have been added to the attached list. BlueCAT retrofit kits are approved by the California Air Resources Board (CARB) and will help you meet the fleet requirement regulations requiring that all existing fleets consisting of more than four pieces of Large Spark Ignition (LSI) equipment take steps to reduce emissions. Any units receiving the retrofit kits may be included in fleet averaging calculations provided they are installed by December 31, Initial reductions for fleet average emissions for large forklift fleets, medium forklift fleets and non-forklift fleets must be met either by retrofitting or replacing the exhaust system to be compliant or to retire the vehicle. For complete details about how fleet averaging affects your fleet please visit: How it Works The air-fuel ratio controller is a closed-loop system and includes a zirconium oxygen (O 2 ) sensor, fuel system control solenoid and an ECU. The ECU receives a feedback signal from the O 2 sensor and modulates the solenoid to maintain the engine A/F ratio at the stoichiometric point, thereby maximizing catalyst performance. The fundamental reactions in a 3-way catalyst are between CO (carbon monoxide) and HC (hydrocarbons) on one side and NO X (oxides of nitrogen) on the other. To achieve high conversions of all three emissions simultaneously, the air/fuel ratio must be at the stoichiometric ratio. Simply, this means the amount of CO and HC are in proportion with the amount of NO X present in the exhaust these gases combine to form water, nitrogen and carbon dioxide. BlueCAT 300 Emission Control System This system has been approved by CARB for retrofit on propane fueled LSI engines that are liters for model years and non-complying engines for phase-in model years The system consists of a 3-way catalytic converter/muffler, and a digital airfuel ratio controller. With over 5,000 muffler designs for virtually any application, this product is designed to help you become 100% complaint and avoid costly fines. The BlueCAT 300 ECU (electronic control unit) is packaged in a rugged metal enclosure suitable for dash or engine compartment installation. Included on the control unit are self-diagnostic LED indicators which allow for monitoring of its operation This feature provides a powerful tool for engine operators and service technicians, which minimizes the chances of system malfunction and/or the release of excessive emissions. The entire system, designed for quick and easy installation, includes the following: Oxygen sensor port built into the converter/muffler Self-diagnostic ECU with all wiring and connectors Comprehensive instructions Finding Your BlueCAT Part Number Enter the OEM muffler part number into the DealerNet competitive search or use the attached cross-reference to locate the appropriate emission control system part number for your model.
