2 HANDLING Handling of Titan -Products NOTIC!! Cleaning makes the coating job easier and enhances the quality of the coating 1. Clean the surface thoroughly. 2. Choose the suitable titanium dioxide solution 3. Select proper tools 4. Actual coating c) In case of using a primer as a pre-coat to protect the surface of organic compound products, the primer needs to be coated first and then the TitanShield coating as a dual layer. d) The recommended distance between substrate and spray gun is 20 to 30 cm. e) xecute the spray coating as cross-coat as described in the drawing. Observe the recommended product dosage. 5. Drying a) The coating is dust dry after 30 minutes. b) Three to twelve hours are necessary to fix the Photocatalytic TiO2-film on the surface permanently. The duration depends on the chosen product and the substrate. c) The surface is resilient after 12 to 14 days. The coating reaches maximum hardness after about 30 days. d) High temperature drying, reduces the fixing time e) In case of forced drying or heating, it should be conducted below 600 C. When the TiO2 film is heated to more than 800 C, the photocatalytic activity is decreased. f) When you have coated some area mistakenly, wipe off the TiO2 immediately. g) It is very difficult to remove the TiO2 after it has dried completely. For spray-application, we recommend the exclusive use of High Volume Low Pressure systems. We have modified and certified the system by GRACO, to fit our Titan products
