9 Standard 4: Chain of Custody CoC system requirements The legal owner shall be certified against an SBP-approved CoC system and hold a valid certificate (FSC, PEFC, SFI) The legal owner shall implement all aspects of the SBP-approved CoC system requirements for the SBP feedstock and biomass. 9 of 11

10 Standard 4: Chain of Custody Outputs All sales and delivery documentation shall clearly differentiate biomass supplied with an SBP-claim from other biomass in the sale or delivery SBP claims: SBP-compliant biomass It may physically contain SBP-compliant feedstock, Controlled Feedstock or EUTRcompliant biomass. Note: Unladen return journeys are taken into account (unless demonstrably not applicable). 13 of 11

15 Standard 5: Collection and Communication of Data Biomass profilling information Feedstock profiling information shall cover the 12 month reporting period and shall include: A description of the forestry management practices The proportion of hardwood and softwood The proportion and identity of any biomass from protected or threatened species The proportion of biomass that was composed of, or derived from, saw logs; The proportion of biomass certified The proportion of controlled biomass For roundwood from final fellings from forest types typically grown in rotation times of more than 40 years, the average % of the volume of harvested wood from these final fellings 15 of 11

16 Standard 5: Collection and Communication of Data Batch specific data Sustainability characteristics may be considered as: a) Input type: Primary; secondary; tertiary. b) Forest Size: For primary feedstock only: >1000ha, <1000 ha, not available. c) Certification: FSC Certified; FSC CW; PEFC Certified; PEFC CS; none of these. d) SBE status: Inside SBE, Outside SBE. e) Stump wood: Does not contain stump wood; May contain stump wood. f) Primary forest: Yes or No. 16 of 11
