2 ENGLISH 1. Introduction Waxlectric I + II No / Ambient conditions We are pleased that you have decided to buy the Waxlectric I/II. This unit sets new standards with regard to function, capability and safety. To guarantee that you enjoy using this product for many years please follow these instructions carefully. 2. Description / Applications Waxlectric is an electronically controlled waxing-up instrument. It is available in a 1-channel or 2-channel version both of which are suitable for almost all modelling and wax-up tasks. An external power adaptor supplies the waxing-up instrument with a reduced voltage of 12 V. This increases the user s safety during everyday use of the Waxlectric. The individual functions can be actuated via the wear-and-tear free, sealed touch control panel. The specific benefit of the Waxlectric is the heating element. This is contained within the modelling tips. The tips therefore respond more quickly to any change in temperature. The strong heat-conducting alloy also increases the thermal dynamics. The electronic waxing-up instrument is extremely easy to maintain. The modelling tips do not have an external finish. They can be ground according to your requirements. Should any defect with the heating element occur you need only replace the tip. The modelling tips can reach a maximum temperature of 200 C [392 F]. The working temperature can be controlled linearly from 50 C to 200 C [122 F to 392 F]. Be careful not to set the temperature too high, as some wax is very sensitive to overheating. The device may only be operated: in interior areas, up to an altitude of 2,000 m above sea level, at an ambient temperature range between 5-40ºC (41-104ºF), at a maximum relative humidity of 80% at 31ºC (87.8ºF), dropping in a linear manner to 50% relative humidity at 40ºC (104ºF), at mains power fluctuations where the voltage fluctuations do not exceed 10% of the nominal value, over voltage category II, at pollution degree Installation / Operation see illustrations Handling 4.1 ON / OFF function: 4.2 Setting the temperature: Setting the unit: C = F O C = O F

F 50 = O C = O F 4.3 Changing the tips: Take care when changing the tips. They may still be hot! Make sure the O-ring is present (ill. 6) - it is the seal against wax penetration! Areas of Caution Before switching on check that the unit s voltage matches the main power supply. Units with faulty leads or other defects should not be used. Do not cover the power units when in use. Unroll power supply cable (overheating may occur in event of short circuit). The tips of the waxing-up instrument reach a working temperature of 200 C [392 F]. > Improper use may lead to a danger of burning! 4 Always insert the handpiece with the tip in the predetermined holder on the unit in order to avoid a potential fire. The waxing-up instrument is solely for processing modelling waxes. > Processing other materials can endanger the user! 5.1 Exclusion of liability Renfert GmbH rejects any claims for compensation as well as warranty claims in case of: the product is used for any other purpose than those mentioned in the instruction manual the product is changed or amended in any way beyond those mentioned in the instruction manual the product is repaired by a non-authorized party or the product is not fitted with original Renfert replacement parts the product is used continuously despite visible safety faults the product is subjected to mechanical jarring or is dropped. 6. Cleaning / Maintenance Clean the unit from time to time with a soft cloth. Never wash the unit! Rub the tips clean after use. This will prevent the wax burning into the tips and the tips losing their optimum heating capacity. 7. Spare Parts You will find the order numbers for wearand-tear and exchange parts in the enclosed spare parts list. 8. Guarantee When used properly Renfert guarantees all parts of the Waxlectric with the exception of wear-and-tear parts for 3 years. Parts given to natural wear are excluded from this guarantee (e.g., all tips, cork fittings, etc.,). The guarantee is void for damage caused by misuse, disregard of instructions for use, cleaning, maintenance and connection, as well as for self-repaired units or repair by untrained personnel, for use of spare parts other than from the manufacturer and influences outside the normal practice or unauthorised in the instruction manual. Services under guarantee do not extend the guarantee. 9. Replace the O-ring (see spare parts list). Replace with the new tip (see point 12 / Accessories). Insert the handpiece cable into the unit until it clicks. Send for repair.

6 Tips & Tricks: When dipping a thin probe with a rounded back into cold wax the wax will melt more quickly. A larger amount of wax can be taken up and also reduces the mechanical load of the relatively sensitive probe. Speedier and more effective modelling is achieved (30% saving on time!) when you pre-warm the wax in the Vario E. The wax can be used more sparingly and cools down quicker. This reduces shrinking to a minimum. As the tip inserts are not coated they can starting from their basic shape be ground, bent and polished as you require. The cable of the handpiece can be guided (e.g. over a specific fixed point (hook etc.) so that the handpiece hangs down from above and thus isat the ideal holding level. Using this cable/ handpiece hanger a speedier grasp or change of handpiece is achieved. If you set the temperature to 50 C [122 F] you can use a slightly warmed Waxlectric blade to rub the wax crown border onto the die. Subject to modification.
