10 ITS ALL-WHEEL DRIVE IS UNIQUELY CAPABLE OF MAKING THE MOST OF ANY SITUATION, Connecting the TL SH-AWD to the road while separating it from the competition is the vehicle s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD ). Utilizing an array of sensors, the system continually monitors each wheel s grip on the road and sends power to where it will be most effective. If any of the tires experience a loss of traction, torque will be redirected to those with a better hold. If all four wheels are on a low-traction surface, power is balanced among them for more surefooted traction. By actively distributing power between the front and rear wheels, as well as between the right and left rear wheel, SH-AWD delivers more confidence-inducing handling when the weather or road conditions are less than ideal. 11 INCLUDING CLEAR SKIES ABOVE AND A SERIES OF SWITCHBACKS AHEAD. Up to 60% of power can be directed to the rear wheels when cruising through a corner. Up to 70% of power can be directed to the rear wheels during straight-line acceleration. Driving stability can be compromised not only by adverse road conditions, but also from the shifting weight of the vehicle as it maneuvers through a set of tight turns. The crisp handling of the TL SH-AWD is the result of its ability to proactively determine where more traction will be needed to help you hold tight to your chosen line. When you take a corner, the system can send up to 100% of available rear-wheel torque to the outside wheel and then spin that wheel slightly faster. These two actions dramatically increase the vehicle s turning force, delivering not only increased stability and control, but also more thrilling response.
