Lightweight efficiency. Uninterrupted power. As quickly as the impulse for action arises, the RDX responds. Open the throttle and the turbocharged engine reacts with immediate acceleration. The familiar problem of turbo lag has been nearly eliminated. The trick is to get the turbo spinning quickly at low engine speeds. To accomplish this, a valve narrows the air passage to increase the air s velocity. As the engine speed increases, the valve opens, allowing the increased air volume to flow freely. This keeps turbine speeds consistently high throughout the power curve for power on demand whenever you need it. The satisfying immediacy of power output is also aided by the engine s i-vtec system that micro-manages the timing and lift of the intake valves. The result is a big dose of torque off the line and elevated horsepower down the road.

When you take a corner, the system can also send up to 100% of available rear-wheel torque to the outside wheel and spin that wheel slightly faster.
