ENGINE Honda s i-vtec engines are designed to deliver strong fuel economy, responsive performance and cleaner emissions. The 1.5 litre SOHC i-vtec engine in the City is designed to optimise fuel efficiency and minimise emissions. Delivering 88kW of power at 6600rpm while consuming as little as 5.8L of fuel per 100km*, Honda s variable valve timing system is an innovation that makes the City kind to your wallet and the environment. TRANSMISSION A city-smart car needs a clever transmission and Earth Dreams Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) is just that. With innovative G-Design Shift logic, the CVT is designed to ensure a quick off-the-line acceleration and a smoother, more natural driving feel. The VTi is available with the automatic CVT or 5-speed manual transmission. Whilst the VTi-L offers racing-inspired steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters for a performance-orientated drive. ECO ASSIST Advanced technology is only part of good fuel economy. The other side of the equation lies with the person in the driver s seat. Imagine a driving coach that helps you to drive more efficiently. Eco Assist is a visual training system that responds to your drive. By teaming Electric Power-assisted Steering (EPS) and a rigid high-tensile steel body with a low centre of gravity, the City is just as composed taming tight corners, as it is challenging parking spaces. EMERGENCY STOP SIGNAL (ESS) If an emergency situation forces you to brake heavily, drivers behind you need as much warning as possible. Emergency Stop Signal does just that, automatically flashing the hazard lights in the event of hard braking to reduce the chance of a rear-end collision. VEHICLE STABILITY ASSIST (VSA) WITH TRACTION CONTROL This technology helps keep the City on course in adverse driving conditions by detecting, then mitigating, potential understeer or oversteer. When necessary, VSA automatically reduces engine power and manages brake pressure to individual wheels to help regain control. HILL START ASSIST (HSA)* Hill Start Assist prevents rolling back when starting on an incline. The system controls brake pressure, keeping the car stationary for a moment as you release the brake pedal and prepare to accelerate. AUTOMATIC TENSIONING SEATBELTS If you re involved in a collision, the same sensors that deploy the City s airbags automatically retract the front seatbelts. You and your passenger are instantly pressed back safely into your seats. ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM (ABS) AND ELECTRONIC BRAKE-FORCE DISTRIBUTION (EBD) The City comes armed with ABS so that you can effectively maintain control under heavy braking.
