The company unveiled a host of new vehicles from the redesigned Mustang coupe to the new EcoSport SUV. It also detailed plans to bring a lineup of new electrified vehicles to Chinese customers and confirmed the launch of FordPass in China will offer motorists a more simple, seamless day-today experience. Ford also detailed a RMB 1.3 billion investment to accelerate innovation and R&D in Nanjing, China, including a new test track and powertrain lab.

2 The event closed with news that Built Ford Tough Ford s best-selling pickup franchise is coming to China starting with the dynamic F-150 Raptor this year and the tough, smart Ranger midsized pickup next year. Ford s compelling vision for China is designed to make lives better and simpler for customers across the country, said Mark Fields, Ford president and CEO, who led the event in Shanghai. We are transforming Ford into an auto and a mobility company, and that strategy is coming to life in the world s largest auto market like never before. Electrification Ford confirmed two new electrified vehicles for China and a broad range of EVs by The Mondeo Energi, to be launched in early 2018, will be Ford s first plug-in hybrid in China and the first to be built by the Changan Ford JV. Ford also confirmed plans to bring to China an all-new fully electric small SUV with a range of more than 450 kilometers within five years. To address growing demand for EVs, Ford will offer a comprehensive range of electrified solutions -- hybrids, plug-in hybrids and fully battery-powered electric vehicles -- to Chinese consumers by By then, 70 percent of all Ford nameplates will have electrified powertrain options, including the full range of nameplates produced by Changan Ford. China is the world s largest new energy vehicle market thanks to strong government support and growing customer acceptance. According to the Society of Automotive Engineers, by 2025 new energy vehicles will account for over 15 percent of passenger vehicle sales in China. In addition, by 2020 Ford will start manufacturing electrified powertrains in China. It also plans to expand its new energy vehicle powertrain engineering capabilities at its Nanjing Research and Engineering Centre with a focus on developing next-generation EV technologies. Built Ford Tough in China Ford announced the popular Ford Ranger will be available to Chinese customers in Adding to the excitement, the automaker also revealed the MSRP of the F-150 Raptor SuperCrew RMB499, 800 for standard series and RMB548, 800 for high series -- which is now reaching dealerships throughout China. 3 Ford has among the most comprehensive SUV ranges in China covering five different segments. Now the smallest of the family, the EcoSport, has been comprehensively redesigned with a rugged new look, a sleek interior makeover and a raft of ingenious technologies. A lineup of three powerful and efficient new powertrains deliver enhanced performance, more power, better fuel efficiency and a smoother, more refined driving experience. EcoSport will offer allwheel drive capability with the 2.0-liter Duratec engine. The new EcoSport builds on the dynamic appeal of its predecessor, starting with a rugged reshaped grill that evokes the Ford SUV signature. The sculpted hood features a muscular central dome and bold fog lamps give it an edgier, more aggressive look. With the new EcoSport, we set out to create a smart SUV that is ideal for urban adventures and versatile enough to go beyond the city, said Nigel Harris, president, Changan Ford Automobile Co. We think EcoSport will surprise customers with not only its capability but all the inventive touches that make it a simple pleasure to drive. To design the EcoSport s new interior, designers and psychologists spent thousands of hours observing how people interact with their car on a daily basis and mining traditional customer feedback. A broad range of other controls has been integrated into a visually appealing and intuitive new 8-inch touchscreen. Ergonomic design and soft touch materials contribute to a spacious and premium feel. A centrally located media bin, able to stow a large smartphone while charging, is one of 27 compartments throughout the EcoSport s cabin, offering convenient places for coffee cups, bottled drinks, sunglasses and umbrellas. Fold-flat rear seats maximize rear cargo space. The cabin of the new EcoSport is designed to be a sanctuary in a noisy city. Engineers added an acoustic-laminated windshield to reduce noise. In addition, Ford today debuted the Edge EcoBoost 245 Sport and EcoBoost 245 Sport All Wheel Drive Sport. The premium three-row, seven-seat SUVs offer enhanced performance and sporty looks for customers seeking a bolder version of the premium three-row, seven-seat SUV. The Edge EcoBoost 245 Sport features a smoked grille, 20-inch black polished wheels and black tail lamp. The theme carries through inside, with sporty seats, floor mats and scuff plates. New Mustang and Focus CTCC Building on a growing passion for the pony car in China, Ford today revealed the new Mustang for China debuting in Already the best-selling sports coupe, Mustang has been redesigned with a host of improvements, including a refreshed design, new technology, enhanced performance and new MagneRide suspension technology. Customers will have more ways than ever to personalize Mustang, with three new paint colors and a customizable digital instrument cluster. Mustang features Ford s first 12-inch all-digital LCD screen in its instrument panel. This all-new instrument cluster can be easily personalized for normal, sport and track mode. The new Mustang MyMode with memory function allows customers to save their favorite drive settings, including suspension and steering preferences. Even its engine note can be adjusted. First introduced to China in January 2015, Mustang is now set to gallop even further ahead of the chasing pack, building on a 2016 that saw 44 percent year-on-year sales growth.

Building on the 12-year success of the Ford Focus in China and its rich motorsport heritage, Ford will release the Focus 2017 special CTCC (China Touring Car Championship) Limited edition in Candy Red with absolute black roof and Crystal White with absolute black roof. Candy Red with absolute black roof will be sold exclusively China s leading B2C e-commerce platforms including T-Mall and Autohome Mall. The Focus CTCC comes equipped with a 1.5-liter EcoBoost engine offering 180 horsepower and 240 Newton-meters of torque. FordPass comes to China Ford today announced it is launching FordPass in China, providing customers a richer ownership experience through a one-stop app that offers a smarter vehicle ownership experience as well as seamless access to mobility services. FordPass acts as a personal assistant with clever features to help find parking and fuel stations, click-to-call or click-to-chat with knowledgeable FordGuides for one-on-one assistance, locating and contacting dealers, as well as accessing useful information like vehicle history maintenance schedules and warranty. With more than 600,000 FordPass members in the United States, Canada and select markets in Europe, FordPass arrival in China is yet another milestone in the company s global commitment to transform every aspect of the Ford customer experience. Available immediately for download in Apple App store and leading Android stores, FordPass can be used by existing and new Ford vehicle owners in China. Further, vehicles equipped with FordPass Connect embedded modem will also be able to leverage certain remote control functionalities such as remote start, lock and fuel check features In addition, FordPass is partnering with edaijia and will soon offer customers in China the convenience of pickup and delivery of vehicle when it is being serviced. Customers will also be able to use FordPay, a payment functionality connected to a credit or debit card, to pay for their vehicle pickup and delivery as well as services at dealerships when using edaijia FordPass can make life easier for customers by offering mobility features to simplify their vehicle ownership experience, said Peter Fleet. This convenient app offers features that save time and minimize the perceived hassles of owning a vehicle so customers can focus on other things in life. R&D Investment Finally, Ford detailed how it is accelerating innovation in China by investing RMB 1.3 billion in its Research & Engineering Center to strengthen and expand its engineering and vehicle testing capabilities in Nanjing. The investment supports an advanced vehicle test track set to open later this year, new vehicle testing facilities, including for electrified vehicles, and the addition of a Makerspace, a hands-on creative work area designed for employees to collaborate and test new ideas. Set to open in late 2017, Ford s new vehicle test and development center -- known as Nanjing Test Center -- will give Ford the capability to physically prove out new vehicles.

5 Located in the Gaochun district of Nanjing, the RMB 680 million Nanjing Test Center will feature a test track with that includes a constant-speed three-kilometer oval and 80 distinct road surfaces to mimic driving conditions and roads in China and around the world. Nanjing Test Center will conduct tests for compact and full-sized passenger vehicles, SUVs, and commercial vehicles. Adjacent to the new test track, Ford will also build a new emissions test center, a noise, vibration and harshness lab, and a vehicle dynamics lab in Nanjing. In an effort to meet the increasing needs of consumers for better fuel efficiency, Ford has also been investing in state-of-the-art powertrain facilities in Nanjing and in 2019 will open a second lab to develop advanced powertrains and powertrain technologies through an investment of more than RMB 250 million.
