With this technology on board you ll never have to switch between high and low beam again. It also gives you more time to react to potential hazards, making for safer driving. Before. With standard halogen headlights, you have to switch between low and high beam to avoid dazzling drivers in oncoming cars. After. 16 DELEGATE ON DEMAND. The Opel eye safety camera supports your own road sense to help prevent collisions, keep track of speed limits and make life safer for you and your passengers. 17 Standard with the Opel Eye Driving Assistance Pack on Astra SRi models, the safety camera system is more than a first in a car of this class it s one of the most sophisticated driver assistance systems ever engineered in a car. Optional on SC and Elite models. For more on Opel Eye safety technology, go to 1. Forward Collision Alert. Gives you an audible and visible signal if you approach slower vehicles too fast from behind. The system will also help avoid low-speed rear-end collisions by automatically braking if it senses a potential impact. The Reflective LED windscreen display provides an extra level of safety to give additional warning in the driver s field of view. 2. Lane departure warning with lane assist. Warning signals protect against unintentional gradual drifting and the steering wheel even nudges gently if you move out of your lane without signalling. The real genius? It won t sound an alarm when you don t need one. For example, if you need to swerve hard to avoid an obstacle. 3. Traffic sign recognition. 27 WHAT ONSTAR CAN DO FOR YOU. Automatic Crash Response. In the event of a crash, built-in vehicle sensors automatically alert an OnStar advisor, who will be immediately connected to your car. The advisor will assess the situation and if needed notify the emergency services and provide them with your exact GPS location 1. Wi-Fi Hotspot 3. Your car is online! The extra-powerful OnStar roof antenna gives you a stable and quick Internet connection and creates a Wi-Fi Hotspot 3 for up to seven devices 1. Smartphone App. At the touch of a button, remotely lock/unlock your doors, check your oil life or sound the horn and flash the lights 1. Stolen Vehicle Assistance. If someone steals your car, call our OnStar advisors and give them the reference number the Garda Síochána give you. The advisor will then provide the Garda Síochána with the location and prevent your car from being restarted so it can be recovered 1. Vehicle Diagnostics. Whenever you want, you can ask OnStar to remotely check some of the key systems of your car like engine, transmission, emissions or airbags. Easytronic is a five-speed manual gearbox with no clutch pedal. In manual mode you simply push the lever forward or back to shift gears up or down, whilst in automatic mode Easytronic takes control. A new electro-hydraulic actuator operates the clutch for faster and smoother gear changes plus increased economy through computer optimised gear changes. Six-speed automatic transmission with ActiveSelect function A six-speed automatic transmission is optional on 1.6CDTi (136PS) model. On the road, a wide selection of shift patterns is adapted to the style and habits of the driver, anticipating when maximum acceleration or maximum efficiency is required. The electronic control will also adapt to the prevailing road conditions, reducing gear shifting when climbing or descending and using engine braking assistance during down changes. The ActiveSelect manual mode allows the gear lever to be used like a sequential manual gearbox you simply push the lever forward or back to change up or down the gears. The driver also benefits from a neutral gear disengagement at idle, which reduces vibration and contributes to improved fuel consumption. The maximum roof rack loading should not exceed 75kg on all models. The maximum towing weights are based on the ability of the car, with two occupants of 75kg each, to restart on a 12% gradient, which is approximately 1 in 8.3, at sea level. The permitted trailer load applies up to the specified incline and up to an altitude of 1000 metres above sea level. The permissible gross train weight decreases by 10% for every 1000 metres of additional altitude. Any extra weight, such as luggage or additional passengers, should be deducted from the maximum towing weight. With a trailer fully loaded, maximum noseweight should not exceed 75kg. Always fit Opel towing attachments and accessories available from your Opel Dealer. They are designed specifically for Opel models and carry a 12-month guarantee. During trailer towing do not exceed a maximum speed of 120km/h. This speed limit is also applicable in countries with higher permitted speeds for trailer-vehicle combinations. Pay attention to the local speed limits. For trailers with low driving stability and caravans the use of an oscillation damper is strongly recommended.
