3 Let s escape THE NEW TIGUAN Off-ROAD. It s not by chance how the Tiguan Escape got its name. With the capability to tackle nearly any terrain, this is exactly what it enables you to do. The off-road design of the Escape is distinct from all other Tiguan models, with a front 28 module allowing it to traverse a larger angle of approach (from a horizontal surface to a gradient), while underbody protection at the front protects against ground contact. 6 01 Thanks to its exceptional flexibility, the new Tiguan provides exactly the seating or stowage arrangements you require. The rear seats spilt 60:40 and each side can be moved lengthways, while all but the driver s seat can be folded flat, providing a massive loading volume of up to 1,510 litres. Please note, passenger seat on S models cannot be folded flat. 02 The interior can be specified in optional luxurious and extremely durable Vienna leather upholstery, which includes driver s seat with electric 12-way adjustment (in lieu of driver s under seat drawer) and lumbar support. The electrically operated panoramic glass sunroof gives an extra dimension of light and space and comes equipped with a retractable blind to prevent glare from the sun. 7 equipment If you re searching for a new route or trying to find a parking space, the new Tiguan is equipped with the latest state-of-the-art driver assistance systems, assuring you of relaxed, safe driving. Whether the equipment is fitted as standard or an optional extra, every element blends harmoniously into the interior of the new Tiguan The latest generation Park Assist system with front and rear parking sensors recognises both reverse and parallel parking spaces and automatically steers into either, while the driver operates the clutch, brake and accelerator. The system can now parallel park in particularly small spaces, only 1.1 m longer than the vehicle. In addition an optical parking display extends the functions of the parking sensors by indicating your position on the vehicle s audio display during parking. Standard on all SE and optional on all other models. The Winter pack in conjunction with cloth upholstery includes heated front seats with three preset temperature settings and heated windscreen washer jets, ensuring you are fully prepared to face any cold spell. Optional on all models. 03 Cruise control can be set at speeds of over 19 mph to maintain a constant speed. Once set to your desired speed, all your concentration can be focused on the road ahead creating a more relaxed drive. Optional on all models. The RNS 510 touch-screen navigation/dvd radio system responds to spoken voice commands for navigation, CD and radio functions, and features a 6½ inch colour screen, 30 GB hard drive with preloaded navigation data, SD card reader, compatibility with MP3, WMA and DVD video data files, and AUX-in socket for connection to an external multimedia source such as an ipod or MP3 player. Optional on all models. RCD 510 radio system, RNS 315 navigation/radio system and RNS 510 navigation/dvd radio system cannot be specified in conjunction with each other. DVD playback will not function whilst the navigation system is in use, or the vehicle is in motion. RNS 510 touch-screen navigation/dvd radio system is fitted in lieu of standard DAB digital radio receiver High Beam Assist ingeniously senses the lights from oncoming vehicles and switches between main and dipped beam accordingly. It also senses vehicles you are approaching from the rear and ensures dipped beam is selected in order not to dazzle vehicles in front. Optional on all SE, Sport and Escape models. The Multi Device Interface (MDI) with ipod and USB cables enables you to connect and charge a compatible device, while track selection is viewed and selected via the vehicle s radio system. The multifunction leather trimmed steering wheel enables you to control the radio, multifunction computer and Bluetooth telephone preparation without taking your hands off the wheel, thanks to the intuitively positioned buttons. BlueMotion Technologies such as a multifunction computer including visual gear change recommendation for optimum fuel consumption, recuperation (battery regeneration during braking) and a Start/Stop function that can cleverly switch the engine off when your vehicle is stationary and in neutral and start it again as you depress the clutch, all combine to aid increased efficiency. 02 Externally, Volkswagen s BlueMotion Technology badging identifies the cleanest, most energy-efficient cars in our range. This is notified to the driver with the Start Stop symbol displayed on the multifunction computer (Highline), which then disappears when driving is resumed. The multifunction computer (Highline) provides useful statistics about your journey, such as exterior temperature, average and current fuel consumption, average speed and estimated distance to refuelling.
