Sidewise is a compact workstation or collaborative hub suitable for one to three people in small enclaves inspiration The concept for Sidewise was developed in response to the basic need for spaces in-between open settings and traditional meeting rooms or private offices. What emerged is a compact furniture solution that provides a range of planning possibilities that addresses the need for less formal private offices while maximizing a smaller footprint. Sidewise consists of a vertical storage monolith attached to a horizontal worksurface. The intent of the storage is to plan vertically; minimizing the amount of space required resulting in a more efficient use of space. Sidewise can be configured as a single or double-sided workstation or group meeting spaces. These formats create convenient, functional small spaces close to open areas suitable for one to three people. 17 introduction sidewise features (continued) sidewise drawer configurations Sidewise drawers provide a personalized storage system with a unique sideaccess design including soft close, full extension drawer slides When a storage configuration with drawers is selected, two drawers are provided Drawers can be opened independent of one another, they can both be in an open position at the same time When the configuration specified is two drawers on the bottom with a multi-drawer on the top, all drawers can be open simultaneously The side-access slide-out drawers and doors can be used to pile, file, stack and store items Drawers can accommodate legal sized files, letter sorting trays, bags and other loose items Interior drawer dimensions are 15-1/2" deep x 12" wide x 8-3/4" high sidewise multi-drawer configuration Encompasses the unique side-access design including full extension drawer slides The interior includes one fixed shelf and one height adjustable shelf Can be used to store books, bags and office products. It can also be customized using the Accessory Rail Element (SWDA) which accommodates fx Accessories (YFX_). Both the Accessory Rail Element and fx Accessories are available from Complements: Teknion s Ergonomics & Accessories Program Catalog sidewise coat configuration The Sidewise Coat configuration includes a Chrome coat rod that spans the width of the storage module Additional items such as clothing, bags or shoes can be placed below on the fixed shelf

19 introduction sidewise features (continued) technology bridge Allows for easy access to power and communications underneath the worksurface The Technology Bridge is the structural support between the storage monolith and the worksurface and is always located on the side of the storage monolith to accommodate wire management Has an integrated Power Bar that faces the user and provides six North American simplex power receptacles and one blank communication port The Power Bar includes a 10' cord and 90 plug to connect to customers floor or wall receptacle Allows for direct or edge mounting for Monitor Arms The depth of the Technology Bridge is dependant on the depth of the worksurface and storage monolith and is inset 3" - 4" on either side of the worksurface Wires can be routed from the floor or wall through the grommet on the bottom of the storage monolith Two 2" x 6" openings with grommets are provided for air circulation allowing a CPU to be used within the storage monolith Wires can then be routed up to the worksurface level grommet to the Technology Bridge At the underside of the worksurface, the Technology Bridge s bottom pan hinges down to allow easy access wire management under the worksurface Wires can also be routed further upwards inside the storage monolith to power an LED Ambient Light (SWLED) if one has been specified
