Peugeot pioneered the concept of folding roof cars way back in the 1930s with its elegant 401, 601 and 402 Eclipse models, and today continues this with the 207 CC and now the new member to the family, the 308 CC.

5 Unique CC history evolves further The years 2000 and 2003 saw this expertise developed further with the 206 CC 2+2 and the 307 CC with four full size seats, popularising a concept which was previously considered exclusive, became accessible to all in the 21 st Century. The successors to that first generation have already appeared, with the 207 CC and now the 308 CC, which received its debut at the Paris Motor Show, in By the beginning of 2009, Peugeot has produced over 650,000 Coupé Cabriolets for enthusiasts of this lifestyle motoring concept, making Peugeot the world leader of this body style design. Since the launch of the 307 CC in 2003, the structure of the lifestyle market in the M1 segment has undergone a number of profound changes. Recently, cabriolets with a retractable rigid roof have become more popular than vehicles with a more vulnerable soft top. Chosen for its clever design and for its elegance, it s also appreciated in daily use for its comfort, specification and ride quality.

6 Compared to the Peugeot 307 CC which it replaces, the 308 CC is longer, wider and has a larger front and rear track to improve the overall dynamic performance. The extra length and width also benefits occupants by increasing the internal passenger space compared to the popular 307 CC. 7 Attractive by design With its balanced forms, both in Coupé and Cabriolet configurations, the 308 CC cuts an elegant figure: modern and dynamic, with a graphic style emphasised even further by light reflecting contours an exceptional vehicle with a strong temperament that clearly shows its allegiance to the world of prestige Coupé Cabriolets; low-slung, with an aerodynamically positioned front windscreen, a deeply profiled lower front panel, generously sculpted sides with chrome bead decorating the windows, prominent haunches, an original boot lid and spectacular LED rear lights featuring curtain of red light technology, the 308 CC is certainly strong in personality.

8 The exclusive passenger compartment has an undeniable personality, creating the impression of a grand touring car. The sculpted front seats with their integral head restraints have an inbuilt Airwave neck heating system which provides warm air around the occupants neck. The rear seats mirror this distinctive design and offer rear accommodation that is generous for a Cabriolet. The door panels also have an exclusive design, incorporating an elegant and robust metallic inner door handle. Particular attention has also been paid to the rear seats which benefit from side armrests and deeply sculpted seat cushions matching the theme of those at the front. If leather trim is specified a rear folding central armrest is also included. On all models the integral rear head restraints also house the active extendable roll-over protection bars. The sports steering wheel, special finish of the instrument panel and the black lacquer centre console complete this sylish up-market theme.

9 In terms of the sporty or haute couture feel of the car, the 308 CC is trimmed with attractive fabrics in black / Grey cloth, with leather trim available as an option SE models and as standard on GT, where Black or Lama Grey can be specified dependent on the external paint colour. While the style of the passenger compartment shares many apparent similarities with the 308 hatchback, the CC has a number of unique styling features, such as the generously dimensioned wraparound front seats with their integral head restraints. They can also be equipped with an inbuilt Airwave system, which diffuses warm air around the front occupants necks and is adjustable for temperature, flow and direction.

A fully automatic retractable roof Taking centre stage, the fully automatic retractable roof can transform in 20 seconds and its operation can be viewed on the colour display, turning the car into a dynamic Coupé or an elegant Cabriolet according to its occupants choice. In harmony with the seasons The cabriolet configuration can even be enjoyed in cold weather, whether it s making the most of early spring, saying no to winter or driving with the roof down in beautiful snow bound landscapes. Peugeot offers all these pleasures to the occupants of the 308 CC, due to its protective architecture, its intelligent air conditioning (which adapts its operation to the Cabriolet body shape), heated seats, its windstop and its remarkable Airwave system built into the front seats, which acts like a scarf by diffusing warm air that can be adjusted for temperature, flow and direction.

11 Magical experience The 308 CC reintroduces the 307 CC s roof concept, a two-part retractable roof with a small folding roof panel and a large rear athermic dark-tinted rear windscreen, which separates from the rear quarter panel pillars when the roof is folded, creating extra space in the boot. This design takes full advantage of Peugeot s expertise in Coupé Cabriolets and evolves the benefits of a tried and tested concept. This evolution also extends to the time taken to open or close the roof, now reduced to 20 seconds - even when driving at speeds of up to 7.5mph, and to its quality in terms of fit, water-resistance and robust operation. The roof mechanism uses five hydraulic actuators, an enclosed electro-hydraulic pump and a boot cross-tube which links different system components such as the control rods, locks and pantographs with four or seven strengthened shafts. The system is controlled by a new electronic control unit which automatically lowers all four windows by some 50mm before roof operations commence. Lateral water-resistance of the roof is assured by new U shaped seals designed and developed by Peugeot. These have also been chosen for their excellent acoustic-reduction properties.

12 The design and operating logic of the sensors and locks have all been optimised for improved reliability, with a continuous diagnostic check of all sensors and new anti-rattle locking cams for the roof locks. To ensure the best possible performance in terms of water-resistance, a short drop window system is used, which lowers the windows by 20mm when the doors are opened. This is controlled by a capacitive sensor with heightened sensitivity which uses a continuously reinitialised magnetic field. When a user s hand is about to touch the exterior door handle it is detected in a few milliseconds and the information is sent to the door electronics which lowers the window to release it from its seal. Operation of the roof can also be observed via the moving images shown on the retractable colour multi-function display screen, which also displays any relevant messages concerning the roof operation. Unlocking and releasing of the boot are also possible by remote control and can be actioned by means of a dedicated button on the ignition key.

13 Product in detail Excellent vibration damping Inside the 308 CC an excellent structural rigidity reduces any vibrations that might affect steering, rear vision or seat comfort. This is the result of carefully placed structural reinforcements: through specific dampers and structural bracing. Low interior noise levels An indispensable ingredient of comfort and convenience inside the car, the low interior noise levels of the 308 CC in its Coupé configuration clearly set the vehicle apart from its competitors. Space all around As a Coupé Cabriolet with four full size seats, the 308 CC benefits from wider wheel tracks and a wider body compared to its predessor the 307 CC, as well as a front seat structure which offers both generous leg room to the rear occupants and provides a good amount of space to all occupants of the vehicle.

14 308 CC Comprehensive Safety 5 star EuroNCAP rating for adult protection The structure is derived from the 308 hatchback, as well as this model s specific safety equipment, further work has been carried out to ensure an excellent level of passive safety and to protect the occupants from front and side impact and any rollover situations, meaning that the 308 CC benefits from an exceptional level of protection against accidents added to Peugeot's know-how in the field of active safety. EuroNcap awarded five stars to the 308 CC in the adult occupancy test with an excellent total of 36 points (out of a possible maximum 37). The structure shares the same design of the engine compartment as the hatchback, with three impact absorption structures, but significant adaptations have been made to the upper structure which is connected to the specially reinforced A post. The adapted sills are capable of resisting a force of 12 tonnes, while the larger doors follow the example of the three-door 308 in terms of impact strength and offer a resistance of 6.5 tonnes In short, the 308 CC has been given the best possible structural adaptations for an open top car, the aim being to maintain optimum strength even in the Cabriolet configuration.

15 Fitted above the A post, the front windscreen pillar contributes both to the car s strength and its protection in the event of a rollover. They are constructed from two layers of material, with different thicknesses, ensuring a better strength / weight ratio than the original reinforcement tubes of the 307 CC. The strength of the front windscreen pillars is the result of the findings from the loss of control vehicle tests used to simulating a severe rollover situation. In addition, the 308 CC has seats that are far lower than those of a hatchback and the Coupé type driving position also assists the car s behaviour in the event of an impact. The 308 CC is nevertheless equipped with front air bags with a capacity of 60-litres for the driver and 90-litres for the passenger, chest/pelvis side air bags with a capacity of 12-litres and, marking a world first, a head airbag (9-litres) for the front passengers, housed directly in the seat and deployed laterally from the head restraint.

16 It is therefore the only Coupé Cabriolet in the world to have all the lateral protection incorporated into the seat, including head, chest and pelvis, thereby ensuring efficient deployment and efficient protection of all vital parts of the body regardless of the seat position at the time of impact. In keeping with its status as a four seater Coupé Cabriolet, both rear seats have seat belts with force limiters and fasten seat belt alarms. A special screen shows the status of all four seat belts, as well as activation or de-activation of the front passenger air bag for installation of a rear-facing child seat. Fixtures for an Isofix child seat with even more practical covers equip both rear seats and a child safety system allows the rear windows to be locked from the driver s door control pad. This system allowed the 308 to obtain three stars in child occupancy protection tests, placing the 308 CC among the best performers in the category with stricter criteria. The 308 CC is designed to create a real sensation of tranquillity in the passenger compartment. The structure is robust and designed to withstand and dissipate front and side impact energy. It is also supplemented by innovative and intelligent means of restraint that the Cabriolet body shape dictates. Within a few milliseconds of the risk of a rollover being detected (less than the time taken to blink an eye), rear active pop-up pyrotechnic roll-over protection bars create a passenger survival cell with the strengthened windscreen pillars designed for this eventuality.

17 Further typical CC features and equipment testify the ability of the 308 CC to anticipate its occupants needs include - automatic remote-control locking of interior storage compartments (glove box and storage under the central armrest) - deadlocking of doors and selective unlocking (practical for parking open ) - centralised control of all four windows - the special rear seat access function with electrically-operated seats. - LED courtesy lighting in the door mirrors

18 A Useable Boot The 308 CC has a very usable boot with a number of dedicated storage spaces (including one under the boot floor carpet to store the optional windstop). A lot of attention has also been paid to the boot area to optimise the space and gain valuable additional millimetres. In the Coupé configuration, the boot volume is 465 litres and 266 litres with the roof folded. Inside, the boot is meticulously finished with a high quality carpet, chrome tie-down rings, straps for retaining a warning triangle and a luggage net for enhanced practicality. Unlocking and releasing of the boot is possible by remote control and can be actioned by means of a dedicated button on the ignition key.

19 A good sized boot - in both the Coupé and Cabriolet configurations Particular attention has been paid to the rear of the 308 CC to combine elegant and dynamic style with a reasonable boot capacity regardless of the chosen configuration. The width between the wheel arches has been increased by 27mm to 1017mm, while the length of the boot along the floor is 781mm (+6mm compared to the 307 CC). In the Coupé configuration, the total boot volume is 403 dm 3 VDA, an addition of 53 dm 3 compared to the 307 CC (including 15 dm 3 VDA of storage under the boot carpet). The equivalent liquid volume is 465 litres. The available distance between the floor of the boot and the boot lid is 581mm, an increase of 7mm compared to the 307 CC. In the Cabriolet configuration, the two-part roof system, in which the rear windscreen detaches from the rear quarter panel pillars, proves a very efficient compromise in terms of luggage space. The total boot volume under the load space cover is 226 dm 3 VDA or 266 litres in liquid equivalent, including storage under the carpet, an increase of 22 dm 3 (or 34- litres) compared to the 307 CC. The available height between the floor of the boot and the load space cover is 304mm (+ 20mm compared to the 307 CC).

20 Designed in the manner of a presentation box, the boot is meticulously finished with a flock side trim, a high quality carpet, chrome tie-down rings, straps for the warning triangle and a luggage net for enhanced practicality. Each boot configuration has its own lighting source one on the boot lid which illuminates the boot vertically, the other on the boot side trim panel projecting light under the load space cover. The generous volume available under the carpet provides partitioned and dedicated storage spaces for tools and the puncture repair kit above the folded windstop, as well as room for a warning triangle and further spaces for use as required

21 Peugeot Connect Audio and Navigation Systems To ensure every journey is as enjoyable as possible a wide range of standard or optional Peugeot Connect audio and navigation systems are available: Peugeot Connect Sound consists of an MP3 compatible Radio / CD player. It is linked to six speakers and includes a connection for a portable electronic device in the glove box, via two RCA connectors. Peugeot Connect Bluetooth is a MP3 compatible Radio / CD player with an inbuilt Bluetooth hands-free kit allowing the use of a mobile telephone in complete safety. It also includes a USB connector and RCA connectors in the glove box.

22 Peugeot Connect Nav is a new, highly competitive and attractively designed satellite navigation system which combines audio functions with a three-tuner MP3 compatible Radio / CD player, a Bluetooth hands-free mobile telephone, satellite navigation with European cartography, traffic information and RCA connectors in the glove box. It is linked to a large seven inch 16/9 colour screen which retracts into the fascia panel providing either two dimensional or bird s eye view of the map information. Peugeot Connect 3D-Nav is the top-of-the-range system using a 30 GB hard disc for cartography and music storage, with 10 GB devoted to the Juke Box function. It includes an integral GSM mobile telephone with an integral SIM card holder and Bluetooth functions. Information is shown on a high-resolution 7 inch 16/9 colour display which retracts into the fascia panel. This provides a 3D representation of the map and allows videos to be watched thanks to the DVD player and RCA and USB connectors. A JBL hi-fi pack offering tailor-made sound. This comprises of a digital eight channel amplifier with an output of 240W which controls a range of hi-fi speakers (two medium-tweeters, two woofers, two coaxial elliptical speakers) and automatically adjusts the audio volume in cabriolet mode according to vehicle speed.

23 New engines provide 308 with a dynamic experience Initially at launch two dynamic and fuel efficient engines will be available, both equipped with a six-speed manual gearbox or if preferred an automatic gearbox option. The choice extends quickly in 2009 with a wider selection of engines that include; Petrol Engines available at launch are based on the direct petrol injection turbocharged engine derived from the co-operation between the BMW Group and PSA Peugeot Citroën litre THP 150bhp engine torque of 240Nm at 1400rpm with six-speed manual gearbox litre THP 140bhp engine torque of 240Nm at 1400rpm with four-speed automatic gearbox and Porsche Tiptronic System control litre VTi (Euro 5) 120bhp engine - torque of 160Nm at 4250rpm with fivespeed manual gearbox.

25 Suspension system The dynamic road holding of the 308 CC is designed to combine driving pleasure with active safety and a high level of comfort. It benefits from Peugeot s experience in terms of Coupe Cabriolets and also their expertise in designing vehicles with high torsional rigidity, a key element for good road holding. As with the other 308 models, the suspension of the 308 CC comprises of: - an inverted Pseudo McPherson type front suspension with a drop link antiroll bar which ensures both accurate steering and excellent damping control - a rear suspension with a rear torsion beam and integral welded anti-roll bar ensuring good body control, vibration suppression and strength While retaining the geometry of the 308 hatchback suspension, changes have been made which include a lower ride height by 12mm at the front and 8mm at the rear, a specification borrowed from the 307 CC which can also be traced to the 308 GT THP 175 hatchback.

26 The 308 CC is equipped, according to the engine and version, with wheel and tyre combinations specially adapted to this particular body shape. They combine dynamism, safety and driving pleasure with a high level of comfort. To achieve this, wider tyres than those of the hatchback are fitted, for example, with the 1.6- litre THP 150 engine. Ventilated front discs of 302mm diameter and 26mm thickness are specified, while at the rear discs of 249mm diameter and 9mm thickness are fitted, coupled with an emergency brake assist system and automatic switching on of the hazard warning lights, in the event of sharp deceleration. A Bosch 8.1 ESP system including ABS, electronic brake force distribution, traction control and stability control comes as standard on 308 CCs equipped with the 1.6-litre THP and 2.0-litre HDi diesel engines.

28 The 308 CC Sport has a high level of standard equipment that includes 16" alloy wheels, full body coloured exterior, front fog lights, black / grey Sports cloth trim and black instrument dials. In car entertainment is provided by Peugeot s new Connect Sound RD4-1 radio/cd player and audio pack - 6 speakers & audio remote control. For comfort and convenience air conditioning, a leather steering wheel and remote control locking glove box and centre armrest storage are also made standard. Safety and security features include the electric folding retractable roof, six Smart safety airbags, unfastened seatbelt detection system and ESP (Electronic Stability Programme that includes ABS, EBFD & EBA). The 308 CC SE model features additional specification over the Sport with 17" alloy wheels, the Visibility Pack (which includes automatic rain sensing front wipers, automatic headlamps and an electrochrome rear view mirror), ambient lighting, rear parking aid, cruise control with speed limiter, climate control air conditioning, alarm (Thatcham category 1 Approved), and the upgrade stereo Peugeot Connect Sound RD4-2 radio/cd with Aux & MP3 playback.

29 The GT model goes further, with extra features that include leather trim, a windstop, 18" alloy wheels, tyre pressure sensors, front and rear parking aid and Peugeot s Connect HiFi (JBL HiFi pack). The Airwave neck heating system is standard equipment (available on SE models when combined with leather trim). Exclusive to the UK and for the first 308 CC potential owners is an exclusive topof-the-range model the GT100. As the name suggests it is limited to just CCs, and includes an enhanced GT specification with the most powerful THP 150 petrol engine in the 308 CC range. Metallic paint in either Nera Black or Pearl White is at no extra cost. Further features include the Electric Pack (which has electric seat adjustment), GT100 carpet mats, GT100 chrome door sills and limited edition badging. All features of the GT are included.

30 Other features standard on most models include white dials with chrome surrounds, external temperature gauge, distance to next service indicator, instrument panel lighting dimmer and a trip computer. Interior features include an aluminium gear knob (manual versions only), aluminium pedals, additional front and rear carpet mats, aluminium finish to centre console, air vents and interior door handle surrounds. All 308 CCs have front seat back map pockets, front and rear courtesy lights with delay, front map reading lights and front seat occupant illuminated vanity mirror and for the driver a ticket holder. Also 12V socket is fitted to the centre console and in the boot, where a boot net holds down luggage, with a protective shutter blind to protect luggage when the roof is folded. The 308 CC benefits from a full body coloured paint treatment that includes door mirrors, door and boot handles. A chrome exhaust extension and boot lid lip spoiler with integrated brake light are also standard, as are double optic halogen headlamps with clear polycarbonate lenses and a high level third brake light integrated in to the boot spoiler. The 308 CC builds on the many strengths of the 307 CC but develops them even further in order to meet the high standards expected of this type of vehicle: attractive styling, comprehensive specification and safety equipment and high levels of quality, both perceived quality and a high quality feel.
