7 The design of Ecoflex sought to shy away from overt styling to a more calm design language with an architectural quality. The guiding principles that were deployed of ecology, economy and flexibility are clearly evident in the final chair. Task Seating Task Seating Ecoflex Ecoflex Dynamic Synchronized Tilt Featuring a synchronized mechanism geometry that links the motion of the seat and the 17 backrest recline with a ratio of 2.7:1. This ratio has been developed to encourage users to maintain the open, floating action of the chair that can have positive benefits for back health. This mechanism incorporates a tilt travel limiter with three preset ranges of movement:- 6, 12, 17 of recline as well as the ability to lock in an upright position. The mechanism also incorporates adjustments for:- seat height, body weight adjustment using a high geared (2.5 turns), rotational control on the right hand control stalk. Seat depth adjustment is available as an option. Task Seating Task Seating Evolve Evolve Progressive Synchronized Tilt Advanced mechanism pivot geometry delivers a fluid supportive movement through the entire range of 26 of recline that mirrors the body s natural pivot points with a ratio of 2.6:1. Evolve 2 s recline mechanism incorporates a tilt travel limiter with three preset ranges of movement:- 6, 17, 26 of recline as well as the ability to lock in an upright position. The mechanism also incorporates the ability to set the chair to a forward tilt of 3 this then adds an additional upright position (0 ) to the travel limiter. The mechanism also incorporates adjustments for: seat height, seat depth and body weight adjustment using a retractable, high geared (11 turns), rotational control on the right hand control stalk. All controls and adjustments can be easily accessed from the seated position. Flexibility is central to the design of Freeflex, giving the user the freedom to make simple adjustments; to their seat height, seat depth and back height to achieve ultimate comfort. In designing Freeflex, special attention was paid to the user s natural pivot points, where they flex and where they don t. This inspired the development of a dynamic weight balancing tilting action and articulated flexing back, that intuitively encourages movement, while providing great support. This mechanism incorporates a tilt travel limiter with three preset ranges of movement:- 5, 12, 22 of recline as well as the ability to lock in an upright position. The geometry of the mechanism truly balances to the individual user and ensures secure stable sitting while maintaining the correct orientation to the desk and VDT. The synchro mechanism ensures the seat and backrest move in harmony with a ratio of 2.7:1 and a maximum back recline of 22 degrees from the action with a further 8 degrees possible from the pivoting back motion. A multi-position back lock incorporating three preset lock positions fitted with an anti-kick brake system. 68 Care & Maintenance Notes Care & Maintenance Periodic maintenance is necessary to ensure long term durability and customer satisfaction. All products should be closely inspected each month. If any item shows signs of structural failure it should be taken out of service immediately. Fabric Please follow specific manufacturing guidelines when cleaning fabric. Cleaning with an unapproved solution could damage the fabric. Neglect is the most common cause of the premature breakdown of any upholstery fabrics. Problems occur as a result of inadequate removal of dirt, dust and grit which settles on the surface of the upholstery. If not removed, the dirt and grit will eventually penetrate the structure of the fabric. With further agitation, as a user sits on the upholstery, the dirt and grit will act like sandpaper wearing away and breaking fibers in the fabric structure. If enough fibers are broken, a hole will eventually form in the upholstery. In the same way, pilling can occur. Pilling involves loose fibers migrating to the surface of the fabric, which with further agitation as a user sits on the chair, will curl up to form tiny bobbles of fiber. Although pilling can occur with wellmaintained fabrics, it is well known that soiling agents can initiate and/or significantly accelerate pilling. Leather Please refer to manufacturer guidelines for conditioning and cleaning. Regular maintenance may be necessary every 3 months to keep the leather surfaces from peeling or cracking. Plastic/felt feet Need to be inspected and replaced if worn. Epoxy powder frames Clean using a damp cloth with a mild solution of soap and water. Chrome frames Clean chrome with a good grade chrome cleaner to maintain a bright finish. Occasionally chrome leakage can occur on products that have been just delivered. Wipe down with a chrome cleaner to eliminate this. Wood seating & tables Wood is a natural product and owes its inherent beauty to the variations in color, texture, and grain which are not considered defects. It should be noted that several other states have adopted California Technical Bulletin 133 for the same occupancies in their states. All purchase orders requesting CAL TB133 must clearly state whether the need is for TB133 compliance or certification. CAL133 TB133 Certificate Involves a full scale test and an additional 4 weeks is required on our standard lead time. The cost of this test is $650 net.
