2 ENGINES The Tier 4 Bobcat engines used in Bobcat compact excavators, loaders and Toolcat utility work machines offer definite advantages over the competition Non-DPF Tier 4 solution: While many other engine brands use a diesel particulate filter (DPF) as a part of their Tier 4 solution, Bobcat engines don t. All DPFs have a complicated cleaning process called regeneration, which requires a high level of operator knowledge to keep the DPF engine and machine operating properly. Bobcat Tier 4 engine customers don t have any regeneration issues Increased Torque: The Bobcat engine delivers increased torque over a wide peak torque operating range which helps operators of any level improve the performance of Bobcat equipment when digging, lifting and pushing heavy loads Machine shutdown protection: The Bobcat engine continues to improve the investment-saving features of automatic shutdown from previous engines. Prior to the Bobcat engine, engine coolant and hydraulic oil temperatures were monitored. If high enough temperatures of either existed, the machine alerted the operator and shut itself down to prevent catastrophic damage to the engine. With the Bobcat en gines, machine shutdown is still possible. However, instead of shutdown being the only solution, coolant and oil temperatures are moni tored and managed to prevent them from reaching a point where the machine has to be shutdown. This prevents damage to the engine, unnecessary engine wear and keeps operators working Cold weather protection: The Bobcat engine automatically protects itself from being worked too hard before it s warmed up, keeping machines running and out of the service shop Reduced noise & fuel consumption: The Bobcat engine automatically varies the engine s combustion pressure to produce the proper amount of torque for the job at hand. It increases for demanding jobs and decreases for light duty operation, resulting in lower engine 5. noise and better fuel efficiency when performing light duty tasks Easy maintenance access: The Bobcat swing-open tailgate and transversely mounted engine provide panoramic serviceability and make it easy to check engine fluids and filters, examine the air and fuel cleaners and hydraulic and hydrostatic components, and inspect the battery Advantages you can feel: The performance advantages of the Bobcat engine must be felt not just read on a spec sheet. When you get into the seat and work the machine; you can feel the difference of increased engine performance in a wide variety of applications Improved Long-Term Performance: The Bobcat engine manipulates engine combustion pressure and compensates for engine wear by increasing the combustion pressure as the engine ages to provide consistent engine power (torque) for the life of the engine.

Mac Construction began as a small asphalt paving contractor and slowly grew into earthwork, site utilities, and concrete and currently has about 80 plus employees. Mac Construction Inc. is a civil contractor specializing in heavy earthwork projects and site utilities such as storm sewer, waterlines, sanitary sewer lines and underground borings. In addition, they also provide site/building concrete, asphalt paving and milling, seal coating and striping. The company currently owns two Bobcat S650 skidsteer loaders and an E55 excavator.
