Tel: Fax: Invitation to Comment on RSPO Recertification Assessment of PPB Oil Palms Berhad - Sri Kamusan Palm Oil Mill PPB Oil Palms Berhad has commissioned SIRIM QAS International Sdn. Bhd. for the assessment and certification of its certification units against National Interpretation of RSPO Principles and Criteria for Sustainable Palm Oil Production. RSPO was established in 2004 with the objective of promoting the production and use of sustainable palm oil. RSPO certification will enable oil palm growers and palm oil millers to claim that their product is produced sustainably. Among the requirements to market the claim are: Adoption appropriate plantation and milling best practices Compliance with legal requirements Environmental responsibility and conservation of natural resources and biodiversity Responsible consideration of employees and of individual and communities Continual improvement In ensuring that the organization seeking certification meets the above requirements, SIRIM QAS International Sdn. Bhd. would like to invite interested parties to comment on the recertification assessment of PPB Oil Palms Berhad - Sri Kamusan Palm Oil Mill. The followings are information on PPB Oil Palms Berhad and SIRIM QAS International Sdn. Bhd.: PPB Oil Palms Berhad (Membership No. : ) has applied to SIRIM QAS International Sdn. Bhd. for RSPO certification of 5 out of its 8 certification units. PPB Oil Palms Berhad owns and operates 15 oil palm plantations totaling 76, hectares with a planted area of hectares and nine (9) palm oil mills in East Malaysia. Apart from the estates and mills operation, PPB Oil Palms Berhad is also involved in the downstream activities including oil refining, production of oil and fat products and and oleochemical. PPB Oil Palms Berhad is an active member of RSPO and has always shown its commitment in this field. Bhd. plans to carry out the recertification assessment of PPB Oil Palms Berhad - Sri Kamusan Palm Oil Mill starting from 15 February 2016 until 19 February Standard of RSPO Principle & Criteria MYNI, 2014 and RSPO Supply Chain, November 2014 will be used for this assessment. Sri Kamusan Palm Oil Mill is located at Sandakan,. Details of the certification unit can be referred to Attachment 1 as attached in Appendix.
