The Mist-Head Reseal Kit contains all of the necessary parts to reseal the oil-mist head, including all the O rings and gaskets. The kit also includes two machine screws and two lockwashers to replace any that may be lost or damaged. These instructions are intended for use only with this kit. For more information on these generators, refer to the specific generator instruction sheet. SERVCE NOTE: Shut off air pressure supply and electrical power at sources and disconnect all electrical leads, air line, and mist distribution lines from mist head assembly. Disconnect the oil and air lines from the mist-head assembly. Remove lubricator from mounting bracket, if so equipped. NOTE: DO NOT remove parts from mist head assembly that are NOT SHOWN in Figures 2 & 3. Disassembly: 1. Separate mist head assembly from reservoir assembly by removing eight screws and lockwashers (See Fig. 1). Watch for O ring falling loose when separating mist head and reservoir assemblies. 2. Loosen locking nut and remove airpressure adjustment screw Remove cap (Figures 2 and 3). 3. Remove plug , spring , cap , washer , gasket , diaphragm , and pin & washer assembly Unscrew valve seat , using wide blade screwdriver, and remove guide & gasket assembly , spring , and gasket Close oil-flow adjustment screw B1, noting the number of turns. Use the number of turns for pre-setting oil-flow adjustment screw during reassembly. Record original setting reference number here: Record number of turns opened from fully closed here: 6. 3 77Loosen jam nut and unscrew pick-up tube Remove "O" ring from gauge stud. 8. Unscrew threaded ring and remove air gauge 352-AJ or 353-AK. Remove "O" ring from gauge stud. 9. Clean and inspect all parts. Replace any worn or damaged parts. Use all replacement parts from kit. Clean and dry tube assembly, mist head assembly nozzle (not shown), and mist head assembly air passages with air blow gun. NOTE: Mist head assembly nozzle (not shown) is press-fit into mist head housing and cannot be removed. f nozzle is faulty, replace current mist head housing with appropriate mist head housing service assembly. Reassembly: 1. nsert the gasket , spring and the guide-and-gasket assembly into the valve cavity. nstall the valve seat and tighten. Do not overtighten. 2. nsert the pin-and-washer assembly into the valve seat. 3. Reinstall the diaphragm , the rubber gasket and the washer Reinstall the cap , the spring and the plug Screw in the cap and screw the airpressure adjustment screw into the cap. Screw the locking nut onto the air-pressure adjustment screw. Do not tighten at this time. 11. Tighten the threaded ring on the air gauge. Do not overtighten. 12. f the low-level switch is not used or has not been disassembled, go to step Slide the sleeve and O ring onto the hollow screw nsert the hollow screw through the hole in the terminal strip bracket and into the hole in the mist-head housing. 15. nsert the wire from the low-level switch through the hollow screw. 16. Screw the hollow screw into the nut that is welded to the bracket, of the low-level switch. 17. Tighten the hollow screw using a 7/16" wrench while holding the nut with another wrench. Do not overtighten! NOTE: Before tightening completely, make sure that the low-level switch is oriented so that it does not interfere with the pick-up tube nstall (2) "O" Rings into the nut, then push the wire thru the "O" Rings and nut. NOTE: n order to get the "O Rings" over the wire jacket, it may be necessary to whittle the edge of the jacket to a slight taper. Lubricate the "O" Rings with oil 19. Screw the cap nut on to the hollow screw and 20. Attach the wires from the low-level switch to the 6. nstall the oil-flow adjustment screw B1 and turn until shouldered in mist-head assembly. 7. Back out the oil-flow adjustment screw at least one-half turn until the O mark is aligned with the pointer on the mist-head assembly. 8. nstall the pick-up tube and turn until the stop is felt. Tighten the jam nut Replace the O ring on the air gauge 352-AJ or 352-AK. 10. Reinstall the air gauge into the air-gauge cavity. Make sure that the pin on the air gauge is properly aligned with the hole in the air-gauged cavity. page revised 7-13 page 3

6 Bench Testing Mist Head Assembly Before mist head and reservoir assemblies are reconnected, critical seals of mist head assembly can be bench tested. 1. Fully close mist head assembly air pressure regulator. 2. Open oil-flow adjustment screw 2-1/2 turns from fully closed setting. 3. Connect mist head assembly to air pressure supply and set the air pressure regulator to 10 PS. 7. Disconnect air pressure supply from mist head assembly, fully close oil-flow adjustment screw, and reset to presetting recorded in step 5 of the Service Section. 8. nstall mist-head assembly in the oil mist unit and reconnect the plumbing. 9. Restart they system using the Start-Up Procedure on page 10 of SER CHANGES SNCE LAST PRNTNG Replaced with Use finger to check for vacuum at open end of tube assembly. 5. Further assurance of mist head assembly can be gained by immersing tube assembly into the oil being used in the system. WRE Low-Level FUNCTON Normal Level Oil mist should occur at mist head assembly nozzle outlet. CAUTON: Wear proper eye protection. Do not allow oil mist to be sprayed on or inhaled by anyone.
