2 OVERVIEW: The are switching type, 24V step-down converters designed to power 12V accessories on equipment with 24V electrical systems. They provide a nominal fixed output voltage of 13.5V and an output current of 15 below ambient temperatures of 85ºC and 25 at temperatures below 65ºC. The also provide a continuous non-switched voltage for memory support required by some radios. Main output power is controlled by an IGNITION input. Protection is provided against input reverse polarity, over voltage, under voltage, short circuit and over current conditions. In the event that the ground connection to the converter is broken, the output voltage and memory voltage drops below 13.5V for output loads greater than 0.2. Internal thermal protection forces a gradule reduction of available output current in order to keep converter temperatures to a safe level (see Fig. 1). 3 CIRCUIT CONNECTIONS: SEE SHEET 1 The has two connectors that are grouped as follows: CONNECTOR 1: High-current connector through which the power connections are made to the converter. This is a Deutsch type DTP, 4-pin, sealed connector rated at 125ºC. PIN #1 INPUT VOLTGE: Battery connection to the converter. Should be fused with a 30-amp automotive blade-type fuse. PIN #2 GROUND: Ground or Common connection for the converter. PIN #3 OUTPUT VOLTGE: Connects to the 12V loads. PIN #4 No Connection CONNECTOR 2: Connector is used only for the two low current connections to the converter. This is a Deutsch type DT, 6-pin, sealed connector. PIN #1 No Connection PIN #2 IGNITION: When connected to Input Voltage converter is activated. When disconnected or connected to Ground main output of converter is off (no output voltage present).
