1 GR-FE EINE CONTROL SYSTEM SFI SYSTEM 389 ECM Power Source Circuit DCRIPTION When the ignition switch is turned ON, the battery voltage is applied to terminal IGSW of the ECM. The ECM MREL output signal causes a current to flow to the coil, closing the contacts of the EFI relay and supplying power to terminal +B of the ECM. If the ignition switch is turned OFF, the ECM holds the EFI relay ON for a maximum of 2 seconds to allow for the initial setting of the throttle valve. A3344E0 CHECK FOR SHORT IN ALL HARNS AND CONNECTORS CONNECTED TO FUSE AND REPLACE FUSE 5 INSPECT IGNITION OR STARTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY Component Side: Disconnect the A ignition switch connector. Check the resistance. Standard Resistance A056879E34 Positions LOCK All Terminals 0 kω or higher ACC 2-4 ON - 2, - 4, 5-6 START - 3, - 4, 3-4, 5-6, 5-7, 6-7 Reconnect the ignition switch connector. REPLACE IGNITION OR STARTER SWITCH ASSEMBLY (See page ST-9) CHECK AND REPLACE HARNS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - IGNITION SWITCH, IGNITION SWITCH - ECM) 6 INSPECT ECM (MREL VOLTAGE) Measure the voltage between the terminals of the and ECM connectors. Standard Resistance: Reinstall the EFI fuse. EFI Fuse A33436E02 CHECK FOR SHORT IN ALL HARNS AND CONNECTORS CONNECTED TO FUSE AND REPLACE FUSE 8 INSPECT EFI RELAY Remove the EFI relay from the engine room R/B. Check the EFI relay resistance. Standard Resistance kω or higher (when battery voltage applied to terminals and 2) Reinstall the EFI relay. B06200E02 REPLACE EFI RELAY

Check the harness and connector between the EFI relay and body ground. () Remove the EFI relay from the engine room R/B. (2) Check the resistance.
