The specifications given here are common minimum requirements expected from all the suppliers for implementation of MI Scheme. In order to maintain uniformity in prices among participating suppliers and also to ensure correct evaluation of systems the components offered; capacities and sizes of different components have been fixed in the enclosed Specification Sheets. 7 The filter housing shall be pre-treated by a thorough chemical cleaning process followed by pure polyester powder coating using electro static powder coating method from both inside and outside for protection against corrosion. Back wash assembly shall be provided with entire assembly either in Galvanized Iron or HDPE manifold consisting of necessary valves, backwash arrangement, and arrangement for measuring pressure. Shall prefer if Screen Filter on the Backwash line for backwashing the filter media with filtered water but not raw water. Shall meet or exceed all the tests as specified in IS:

The Mesh/Micron Size of the filter element shall be clearly marked on the element. Shall be provided with valve on the drain port. For measuring pressure either a Single pressure gauge with three way valve assembly or two pressure gauges one each on inlet and outlet need to be included in the assembly. 9

Shall be provided with a valve on the drain port. Shall consist of provisions on both Inlet and Outlet for fixing Pressure Gauge. The filter shall be suitable for vertical as well as horizontal installations. For measuring pressure either a Single pressure gauge with three way valve assembly or two pressure gauges one each on inlet and outlet need to be included in the assembly. Pressure gauge must have connection of ¼ / 1/8 B.S.P. Pressure gauge dial must be of Tin/ Aluminum with black marking on white background. Pressure gauge must be with minimum 2 /4 dial. Dial must be filled with glycerine. WATER METER I.S.NUMBER: 4064 Size 1.5 to 4 waltman type threaded with union or with flange connection to the pipeline.
