3 BEFORE DRIVING FRONT SEAT ADJUSTMENT (Power) SEAT BELT ADJUSTMENT (Front seat) Forward and backward Pull up to raise. Seat cushion height (for driver s seat) Press button and push down to lower. Seatback angle (if equipped) Lumbar support (for driver s seat) HEADREST ADJUSTMENT Height adjustment Lock knob To raise headrest height, pull up on headrest. To lower headrest, press lock knob while pushing down on headrest. Forward or backward adjustment To adjust headrest forward or backward, slide headrest forward or push back. BASIC SAFETY PRECAUTIONS Whenever operating the vehicle, make sure that you and your occupants are properly wearing your seat belts. Small children should always ride in the rear seat in the appropriate child restraint system (see the Owner s Manual for child safety details). Never place children under 13 years old in the front seats to avoid injury that may result from air bag deployment. Always refer to the Owner s Manual for complete safety precaution information. If the driver s seat belt is not fastened when the ignition switch is turned on, the seat belt warning light will blink and the warning chime will sound for approximately six seconds to remind the driver to fasten the driver s seat belt. 02 I Quick Reference Guide Quick Reference Guide I 03

4 BEFORE DRIVING STEERING WHEEL ADJUSTMENTS Tilt and telescopic (if equipped) Do not adjust while driving. OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM Electric type Set the angle and distance with the knob. Passenger air bag off indicator The Occupant Classification System will disable the right front passenger s air bag under certain conditions (light on). 5 BEFORE DRIVING OPEN AND CLOSE INSIDE REARVIEW MIRROR SMART KEY Indicator Sensor ON/OFF button Compass display Compass control button Auto dimming mirror (if equipped) The mirror defaults to the ON position whenever the ignition switch is turned on. Press the ON/OFF button to turn the automatic dimming function off. The mirror indicator light will turn off. HomeLink Wireless Control System (if equipped) HomeLink Wireless Control System can conveniently replace up to three handheld radio-frequency transmitters, such as garage doors, estate gates, and home lighting. Controls for HomeLink are located in the lower portion of the inside rearview mirror. Refer to your Owner s Manual for detailed instructions. Additional HomeLink information can be found at or by calling OUTSIDE REARVIEW MIRROR Adjusting Move the selecting switch to the right or left. Depress the appropriate direction ( ) on the switch. Middle position Lock the control. Lock( ) Press the button. Unlock( ) Press Once - Unlock driver s door. Twice - Unlock all doors. Trunk unlock( ) Press and hold. Panic( ) Press and hold. Press any button to turn off panic. Remove mechanical key Press and hold the release button and remove the key. With Smart Key in range: Press to unlock Once - Unlock driver s door. Auto down Press fully down to open window automatically. Auto up Pull fully up to close window automatically. FUEL FILLER LID Power window lock switch The driver can disable the power window switches on the passenger doors. Lock Press the switch. (pressed in) Unlock Press the switch again. (pressed out) After adding fuel, always reinstall the fuel cap onto the filler neck by rotating it clockwise until it clicks one time. 7 LIGHT AND WIPER HEAD LIGHTS AND FOG LIGHTS OFF position ADAPTIVE FRONT LIGHTING SYSTEM (AFLS) (if equipped) Turn signals and lane change signals High beam Parking light position Head light position Auto light position (if equipped) Flashing head lights Fog lights (if equipped) WIPER AND WASHER AFLS helps keep a wide field of vision at night by turning the head lights in the direction of any turn. To turn AFLS off, press the AFLS OFF button. To turn AFLS on, press it again. System defaults to ON position at start. MIST OFF - Single wipe - Off INT - Intermittent wipe AUTO - AUTO control wipe (if equipped) The rain sensor senses the amount of rainfall and controls the wiping cycle. Press the front windshield defrost control. REAR WINDOW DEFROSTER AIR INTAKE CONTROL DUAL BUTTON 2. Set the temperature control to the desired setting. 3. Set the fan speed to the highest setting. AUTO DEFOGGING SYSTEM (if equipped) Auto defogging system senses the moisture of inside the windshield and operates with the indicator illuminated. Press to activate/deactivate the rear defroster. SYSTEM OFF MODE Pressing the OFF button will place the system in the off mode. Front blower will turn off. Outside (fresh) air position will be selected. Vented air will be at last set temperature. MODE SELECTION Floor & Defrost Recirculated air position Outside (fresh) air position Floor Level Changing the direction of the air flow as follows. 10 MULTIMEDIA AUDIO (if equipped) TOUCH SCREEN AUDIO (if equipped) Press POWER button to turn radio on. TUNING/LISTENING TO CHANNELS 1. Press FM/AM or XM. 2. Rotate Audio Control knob to desired channel. A clear view of the southern sky is recommended to ensure XM radio reception. SETTING PRESET MEMORY BUTTONS (FM/AM/XM ) Press and hold any preset button (1-6) until audible beep is heard to store current channel. ADJUSTING THE SOUND CONTROL 1. Press TUNE knob. 2. Select Bass, Middle, Treble, Fader, Balance by pressing on TUNE knob. Rotate TUNE knob to adjust. 3. Press TUNE knob when done. Steering wheel audio control (if equipped) VOLUME Raises or lowers speaker volume. SEEK/PRESET Change station. MODE Change the audio source. MUTE Mute the sound. Press POWER button to turn radio on. TUNING/LISTENING TO CHANNELS 1. Press FM/AM or XM. 2. Rotate Audio Control knob to desired channel. A clear view of the southern sky is recommended to ensure XM radio reception. SETTING PRESET MEMORY BUTTONS (FM/AM/XM ) Press and hold preset button (-) until audible beep is heard to store current channel. ADJUSTING THE EQUALIZER (SOUND QUALITY CONTROL) Press sound to enter SETUP menu. Rotate knob to highlight option, then press to select. Tone Set Sound quality (Bass/Fade/Treble). Position Set sound position (Front/Rear or Right/Left). Please refer to your Owner s Manual for more detailed information on how to use your audio system. 11 MULTIMEDIA DRIVER INFORMATION SYSTEM (DIS) (if equipped) Audio mode Press POWER button to turn radio on. TUNING/LISTENING TO CHANNELS 1. Press FM/AM or XM. In the FM/AM or XM main menu, select the menu item Tune & Seek. 2. Rotate the controller to desired channel. A clear view of the southern sky is recommended to ensure XM radio reception. SETTING PRESET MEMORY BUTTONS (FM/AM/XM ) Press and hold the controller to store the currently tuned station in the selected preset until the station is stored. ADJUSTING THE SOUND CONTROL 1. Select Setting menu to enter audio setting menu. 2. Select the desired menu item Balance/Fader, Treble/Mid/Bass or Surround. 3. Push the controller to highlight option, then press to select. BLUETOOTH PHONE OPERATION Steering wheel bluetooth control TALK Activates voice recognition. CALL Press the button. Places and transfers calls. END Press and hold the button. Ends calls or cancels functions. BLUETOOTH PHONE PAIRING Standard audio system (if equipped) 1. Press TUNE button. 2. Turn TUNE knob to Bluetooth. Press knob to select. 3. Turn TUNE knob to Pair. Press knob to select. 4. Follow voice command instructions to complete pairing the phone. 5. When prompted, enter the Passkey (default passkey 0000). Touch screen system (if equipped) 1. Press PHONE button. 2. Press the SETTINGS button on phone screen. 3. Press the PAIRINGS button. 4. Press the ADD TO button. 5. In your mobile phone Bluetooth setup menu, select Add New Device. The default name of the Bluetooth device is GENESIS. 6. When prompted, enter the Passkey (default passkey 1234). 7. The name of the connected device will be displayed on the phone. Driver Information System (DIS) (if equipped) 1. Press INFO/PHONE button. 2. Select Connect Phone by turning knob. 3. Select your phone under Pair Phone by turning knob. 4. In your mobile phone Bluetooth setup menu, select Add New Device. The default name of the Bluetooth device is GENESIS. 5. When prompted, enter the Passkey (default passkey 1234). 6. 13 FEATURES SUNROOF (if equipped) With ignition switch on To open Press switch rearward. Press switch rearward past the detent to open completely. To close Press switch forward. Press switch forward past the detent to close completely. To tilt Push or pull switch up or down. CLOCK ADJUSTMENT INTERIOR LIGHTS Hour Minute Reset Push and hold Reset to toggle between 12 or 24 hours. Push the switch to turn the map lamp on or off. 14 FEATURES REARVIEW CAMERA (if equipped) The rearview camera will activate when the ignition switch is ON and the shift lever is in the R (Reverse) position. TIRE PRESSURE MONITORING SYSTEM (TPMS) Low tire pressure indicator Inflate tire(s) to proper pressure. Tire pressure may vary in colder temperatures causing the low tire pressure light to illuminate. Low tire pressure location indicator Rearview display AUX, USB AND ipod PORT Use the jack to connect an external audio device and listen to it through the audio system in your vehicle. To operate your ipod through the vehicle s audio system, a Hyundai adapter cable is required. This cable can only be purchased at your local Hyundai dealer. ipod is a trademark of Apple, Inc. TPMS malfunction indicator See authorized Hyundai dealer. The TPMS is not a substitute for proper tire maintenance. Refer to your Owner s Manual for further information. CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM Cruise indicator Cruise set indicator To set a cruising speed 1. Press ON/OFF button and the CRUISE indicator will illuminate in the instrument cluster. Accelerate to desired cruising speed (above 25 mph). 2. Press SET button and remove your foot from the accelerator pedal. To accelerate or decelerate Press RES + button up to increase set cruising speed. Press SET button down to decrease set cruising speed. To cancel cruising speed Press CANCEL button or depress brake pedal, or press ON/OFF button. 24 I Quick Reference Guide Quick Reference Guide I 25

15 DRIVING SMART CRUISE CONTROL SYSTEM (if equipped) ENGINE START/STOP BUTTON (if equipped) Distance 3 Distance 2 Distance 1 To set a cruising speed 1. Press ON/OFF button and the CRUISE indicator will illuminate in the instrument cluster. Accelerate to desired cruising speed (above 18.6 mph). 2. Press SET button and remove your foot from the accelerator pedal. To accelerate or decelerate Press RES + button up to increase set cruising speed. Press SET button down to decrease set cruising speed. To cancel cruising speed Press CANCEL button or depress brake pedal, or press ON/OFF button. To set vehicle-to-vehicle distance Press the button to select the vehicle-to-vehicle distance. Distance 3 " Distance 2 " Distance 1. With the ignition OFF, press the engine start/stop button: Once for ACC (Accessory) mode. Twice for ON mode. Three times for OFF. To start the engine in any mode (including OFF), press the engine start/ stop button while pressing the brake pedal. To shut the engine OFF, place shift lever in P (Park) and press the engine start/ stop button again. Emergency situations Shut off engine while driving Press engine start/stop button for more than 2 seconds or 3 times consecutively within 3 seconds. 16 DRIVING TRANSMISSION ELECTRONIC PARKING BRAKE (EPB) (if equipped) To apply parking brake, press. + (Up) (Down) ( ) : Depress the brake pedal when shifting. ( ) : The shift lever can be shifted freely. To release parking brake, turn ignition ON, apply pressure on the brake pedal, and pull, or shift transmission out of P (Park). For more information on Electronic Parking Brake and Auto Hold, please refer to your Owner s Manual. If necessary, emergency braking is possible by pressing and holding the EPB switch. + (Up) Sport mode Move the shift lever from D to the right gate to select. Move the shift lever forward (+) to upshift or rearward ( ) to downshift. AUTO HOLD (if equipped) (Down) Press the AUTO HOLD button, and stop the vehicle by depressing the brake pedal. The vehicle will remain stationary even if the foot brake pedal is released. AUTO HOLD will release when the accelerator pedal is pressed. To cancel the AUTO HOLD operation, press the AUTO HOLD button again. The AUTO HOLD does not operate when: The driver s door is open. 17 TRUNK TRUNK RELEASE Interior trunk release Pull trunk lid release to open trunk from inside of vehicle. Trunk lock button The trunk lock button is used to prevent unauthorized access to the trunk. To activate the trunk lock system: 1. Open the glove box. 2. Press trunk lock button OFF. In the OFF position, the trunk can only be opened with the mechanical key. 3. Remove mechanical key from the Smart key. 4. Close and lock the glove box with the mechanical key. With the mechanical key out of the Smart key, the Smart key can only operate door locks and start the engine. Exterior trunk release With rearview camera Push trunk lid release to open trunk. To unlock and open the trunk with the mechanical key Insert the mechanical key into the key slot located as shown on the trunk lid and turn clockwise.
