1 82-03 S-0/ SONOMA BOLT-ON CANTILEVER INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS NOTE: You must have previously installed a Bolt on 4-link to utilize this cantilever kit. If you are installing both kits at the same time, wait to install the bed until both kits are installed. Our instruction photos show the bed removed, but the cantilever kit may be installed with the bed installed. This kit works with 2600 lbs style airbags. (Slam Specialties 7 inch series, Firestone 224, and the Conitech 2600).. Jack the rear of the vehicle and support the frame with stands in front of the forward leaf spring hanger so that the rear suspension hangs. 2. Using a suitable tool, remove the two rivets indicated by the arrows in (Figure ). These holes will need to be slightly elongated toward each other to match the stud spacing on your air bag. 3. Temporarily fi t the bag with the port facing in and mark the frame to notch out for your fi tting. 4. Remove the bag and notch out only enough frame to clear the fi ning once it is installed in the bag (Figure 2) We recommend that you place a gusset in this area to maintain structural integrity.) 5. Repeat steps 2, 3 and 4 on the opposite side. 6. Temporarily install the rear cantilever brackets and the 9/6 x 4 /2 bolts through the stock leaf spring hanger s rear mounting holes. With the brackets held tightly against the bottom of the frame, snug the 9/6 x 4 /2 bolts to hold the brackets in place. 7. Using the brackets as templates, mark the other two mounting holes in the frame (Figure 3). 8. Remove the rear brackets and drill the 4 holes marked in step 7 using a /2 drill bit. 9. Permanently install the rear brackets using the four /2 x /4 bolts, and the two 9/6 x 4 /2 bolts. Note: be sure to tighten the /2 x /4 bolts fi rst to snug the brackets to the frame before tightening the 9/6 x 4 /2 bolts. Install the cantilever links to the cantilever arms using two (2) of the 9/6 x 3 bolts (Figure 4). 0. Install the cantilever link/arm assemblies onto the rear cantilever brackets with the 9/6 x 4 bolts and onto the rear lower 4-link brackets using the remaining 9/6 x 3 bolts (Figure 5).. Install your airbags onto the cantilever arm bag brackets and into the frame area modifi ed in step 4 above (Figure 6). 2. Make sure all hardware is tightened securely. Connect your air lines and remove the vehicle from the jack stands. If your bed and bumper are still removed, reinstall them and you are fi nished.
