Substituting another manufacturer s product and/or components will render the warranty completely void. Finish Warranty Exclusions Outdoor Finishes: Finishes for fixtures installed outdoors are subject to change due to prolonged exposure to sunlight, pollutants and other environmental conditions. Metal finishes on outdoor fixtures will naturally mature over time, changing in appearance and creating a living finish. Painted finishes on outdoor fixtures may naturally fade over time, depending on the fixture's exposure to the outdoor elements. Thus, any claim for fading, discoloration or "patina" of a finish on an outdoor fixture is not applicable to the above warranty. See the "Finish Care & Cleaning" instructions below for proper care and maintenance of your fixture. Coastal Environments: The environment within ten miles of a sea coast can be extremely corrosive. Even with the appropriate maintenance, products installed in this environment will typically deteriorate more than products installed in a less severe environment. Some corrosion and/or deterioration is considered "normal wear" in this environment. Thus, any claim for finish failures or for corrosion of other components due to coastal environment conditions is not applicable to the above warranty. FINISH CARE & CLEANING: Initial care for finishes requires only periodic cleaning with a soft cloth, dampened with water. A mild non-abrasive soap may be used along with a soft cloth and water if the fixture is very dirty. Particular care should be taken to avoid abrasive materials and strong cleaning agents as they will quickly destroy the protective coatings and subject the finish to rapid oxidation and discoloration. A common cause of fading is the assembly of an LED chip into a sub-standard package composed of bottom-dollar components (such as the lens, ceramic substrate or thermal pad). Even a top-of-the-line LED chip, when placed into sub-standard package, will perform very poorly. You could be buying product like this right now and not even know it... yet. 38 S1, S2 SERIES INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS FOR FUTURE REFERENCE Follow all NEC guidelines and local electrical codes. NOTE: Use Garden Light LED transformers only - Garden Light LED will not repair or replace under warranty any luminaires or drivers that have been damaged as a result of using other manufacturer s equipment. Garden Light LED luminaires using LED technology have an operating voltage range of Volts AC. Garden Light LED WARNING - RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK: This luminaire must not be installed within 10FT (3.05m) of a pool, spa or fountain. Low voltage wire is intended for shallow burial only and should be at a maximum depth of 6 inches (152mm). LUMINAIRE INSTALLATION (see Figure 1.) 1. To prevent electrical shock, unplug transformer from the electrical outlet before installation or service of Luminaire or Driver. 2. Mount the Luminaire using the supplied mounting screws to the desired location. 3. Ensure the Driver is out of direct sunlight after the Luminaire is mounted. 4. Strip the two Luminaire Leads to the appropriate length and attach them to the Main Supply Lines using Listed Wet Location Wire Connectors. To protect the wire connection, route the wire in close proximity to the Luminaire. LED DRIVER REPLACEMENT NOTE: The Driver must be properly connected to avoid LED damage. 1. IMPORTANT - Ensure that the power transformer is off and unplugged before proceeding with driver replacement. ***Failure to do so will damage the LED and void the warranty.*** 2. Gain access to the Driver, removing the Luminaire if necessary. 3. Cut the Red and Black wires between the Driver and the Luminaire. 4. Disconnect the Luminaire Lead from the Main Supply Line. 5. Attach the new Driver FIRST to the Luminaire, using butt splices and heat shrink or Listed connectors suitable for wet locations. Attach Red to Red and Black to Black on the Luminaire. *** Polarity matters. If connected incorrectly, the Driver and/or Luminaire will be damaged and the warranty will be void.*** 6. Once the Driver-to-Luminaire connection has been made, the Main Supply Line can be reconnected using the methods outlined above. 7. The lighting system can now be plugged in and turned on to verify functionality. Figure 1. NOTES: Garden Light LED Drivers self-regulate to keep the LED brightness the same throughout the en re voltage range, ensuring a consistent output among Luminaires.
