3 Task /Information Task /Information Information/ Information/ 4 5 What Makes a Seat Comfortable? VDU Regulations Generally, seats should allow your body to be comfortable and not restricted. The seat design is critical for this. Seat Height The Seat Height should never be so high that your legs are left dangling! This can result in pressure on the soft tissues underneath your thighs. This pressure interferes with the return of blood from the lower limbs, which may cause tingling and numbness in the thighs, due to pressure on blood vessels and nerves. Seat Depth The Seat Depth should allow clearance at the back of your knees, in order to prevent pressure on the network of blood vessels and nerves. Seat Back The Seat Back and angle should support the natural curves of your spine in particular your lower back. The main weight bearing should be taken by your upper legs and the top half of the thighs. In addition, a chair should enable you to change your posture at intervals, ensuring that different groups of muscles can be used for support and that no particular group of muscles gets tired. The consequences of poor seating are discomfort, fatigue and inefficiency in what you are doing. Choosing the Right Seat for You We understand that everyone is unique. To ensure you get the right chair for your needs, we offer a wide choice of Task options allowing you to create your own ideal Task Chair. A range of enables you to specify individual parts of the chair, providing you with a tailored solution to your needs. Chair Setup Computer Monitor Position Ensure that your Chair is set up correctly (as per the instructions supplied), and that you are seated at the correct height in relation to your workstation. Your Computer Monitor should be placed directly in front and facing you, so that your body and neck aren t twisted when looking at the screen. For a standard Monitor, the top of the viewable part of the screen should be level with your eyes. Screen Image should be legible, flicker-free, stable and free from glare and reflections. It should also tilt and swivel easily to suit the user s needs. If your legs are not reaching the floor, use a footrest.

Exclusions 1.1 As a full member of the Furniture Industry Research Association, our products are tested for attributes such as strength and durability, ergonomics, performance, surface finishes and cable management facilities. What is warrantied? 2.1 The warranty period for each product is given within the table above, with warranty period commencing from the date of installation. The warranty covers defects in material and workmanship on all main parts. Subject to the exclusions set out at clause This warranty does not apply to electrical components within products. The warranty period for all electrical components are restricted to the original manufacturer's warranty. 2.3 The Customer acknowledges and agrees that products supplied via a third party are subject to the original manufacturer's warranty. Product information is available on request. 1.2 The high-quality build of products across our portfolio allows us to provide a standard guarantee period, of five years for all products manufactured by Godfrey Syrett. Conditions for the warranties 3.1 Products are to be maintained in accordance with the Godfrey Syrett Product Care & Maintenance Guides, available through the company website. Additional information is available on request, Failure to follow the Guides may invalidate the warranty. 3.2 Warranties may also be invalidated if products are used in 24/7 environments, used in environments different to those for which Godfrey Syrett supplied the products, or if used for a purpose different to that for which Godfrey Syrett supplied the product and/or the products was intended. 3.3 The original purchase order/receipt is required as proof of purchase. 4.1 Godfrey Syrett will examine the product and determine whether it is covered under this warranty. Godfrey Syrett will then, at its discretion, either repair the defective product or replace it with the same or a comparable product. In these cases, Godfrey Syrett will be responsible for the costs of repairs, spare parts, labour or collection and/or delivery, provided the product is accessible for repair during normal working hours. If the item is no longer sold by Godfrey Syrett, an appropriate replacement will be provided. Godfrey Syrett will decide, at its discretion, what will constitute an appropriate replacement. 6. General legal rights 6.1 This warranty gives you specific legal rights. This warranty does not, in any way, affect the rights given to you by law. You may also have other rights under applicable local law. 5.1 Godfrey Syrett is not liable under this Warranty where a defect arises from any or all of the following: a. fair wear and tear; b. cuts, scratches, or damage caused by impacts or accidents; c. products that have been placed outdoors or in a humid environment; d. use other than for the contracted use; e. where the customer is supplied goods adapted by Godfrey Syrett, despite Godfrey Syrett advising against such adaptations being made to the goods; f. alteration of the goods (other than by Godfrey Syrett or Agent of); g. repair of the goods (other than by Godfrey Syrett or Agent of); h. abnormal working conditions, including use in a 24/7 environment; i. failure to follow or to follow fully the Guides or other of Godfrey Syrett's instructions; j. improper installation or connection (unless Godfrey Syrett carried out the installation and connection); k. wilful damage, misuse or negligence; l. changes made to ensure they comply with applicable statutory or regulatory requirements. 7.
