Use Regenerated () in your rubber compounds today. www.pitregen.com www.pitregen.com

The Challenge Proposition Roots Beginnings Vulcanization Opportunity PIT has developed an eco-effective Regeneration solutiontm that performs, is simple to use and reduces cost. The Regenerated () obtained from treating recycled vulcanized crumb rubber substitutes for a portion of the virgin master batch rubber compound. Jean Prevost, the inventor of FieldTurf, imagines different eco-effective applications for 255,000 lbs of recycled vulcanized crumb rubber in artificial turf fields. Charles Goodyear (1800-1860) filed a revolutionary patent for vulcanizing rubber on June 15th, 1844 based upon his 1839 invention. The discovery of the rubber-sulfur-heat reaction revolutionized the use and applications of rubber, and changed the face of the industrial world. As long as vulcanizing has existed, attempts have been made to reverse the process. Without the reverse process, recycled rubber has not been used significantly in rubber compounds largely because the desired mechanical properties have been missing. Welcome to the new paradigm of eco-effective Regeneration pushing the industrial age into the modern age of sustainability. The time has come to Believe. 100% eco-effective Feature Innovates & Repositions Waste Free 61% Regeneration Degree* It works! Performance Installation The e2 solutiontm has been filed globally and we have obtained patents in the US, Canada and Mexico as well as several other countries. Equipment for one production line has a small 1,200 sf footprint. We can grow our capacity with your demand. Automated. Only a few employees required to operate. Preliminary training in less than 1 hour; fully trained within 5 days. Current factory has capacity of 1,350 lbs/hr (8 MM lbs/yr). Can add new production lines increasing capacity to 6,700 lbs/hr (40 MM lbs/yr). Simple, robust modular design minimizes maintenance, maximizing throughput. Value Mechanical and processing properties of a compound loaded with (ex:15% by weight) are similar to those of a virgin compound. 1 year stored inside under normal conditions. Long Shelf Life Maintenance External validation confirms a 61% Regeneration Degree*. The is small (40 mesh), soft to the touch and mixes easily in a compound ensuring product finish equivalent to parts made with virgin compound. Typical compound applications include between 10% to 40% of by weight. Products may also be made using 100% cured with a small increase in sulfur and primary accelerator respecting the original ratio. Patented Globally Operation Confirmed by an independent 3rd party using guidelines established by the province of Quebec s MDDEP. User Friendly Benefit It is a sustainable disruptive solution with a reduced human footprint. Recycled tires are used in a cradle-to-cradle upcycle market solution. No down time means we can deliver on time. Reliable Repeatable Design and automation provides Reliable Repeatable results. Margins Increase your margins in up-cycle products. Costs Licensing Reduces client cost. Lowers material cost. Decreases mold curing time by at least 15%. A new opportunity is available. Believe. Product Regenerated () Typical weighted average mesh size of the recycled Vulcanized crumb raw material is approximately 40 mesh (Ø = 0.0165 in). maintains the same small weighted average mesh size of 40 mesh. * sieved using ASTM 5644. * Since specific surface area has been increased and mesh sizes are still small talc is required. * sieved with 5% Talc: 40 mesh. * sieved without Talc: 14 mesh. Weight (%) 50% 40% 30% 20% 10% 0% Weight Distribution vs. Mesh: VR and 10 14 20 30 40 50 60 70 80 Mesh VR VR = Vulcanized crumb = Regenerated 2.0 has unique characteristics * Small (40 mesh). * Soft to the touch, with a jagged surface finish. More x-linking sites available. Increased mechanical bond. * Mixes easily in compound. * Product finish equivalent to parts made with virgin compound Vulcanized crumb - Smooth (1000x) Products can be made using 100% with added Sulphur (2%). Regenerated Jagged and Soft More x-linking sites available Increased mechanical bond Conforms easily when molding

Product (continued) Compound Loaded with Regenerated () Compound Formulation Preparation * Important: Substitute for a portion of the Compound. For example, if the virgin Compound has a total of 170 phr then add 30 phr of to get 15% loading. Do NOT substitute as a portion of the rubber polymer. * Important: Add additional vulcanizing agent and accelerator. Virgin Compound Substitute Virgin Compound The Compound has a pre-determined amount of vulcanizing agent (ex: 2.1 phr). The substituted requires vulcanizing agent as well. ü The Sulphur from the virgin phase migrates to the which will under-cure the virgin portion of the rubber compound. ü A small increase in Sulphur and accelerator is required to ensure proper curing of the complete formulation. Compounds usually have between 1.5 and 2.5 phr of Sulphur rarely exceeding 3.0 phr. Typically add between 0.3 and 0.8 phr Sulphur ensuring that the total does not exceed 3.0. ü Experimentation is required to determine the optimal quantity of additional Sulphur. Increase the accelerator while maintaining the same ratio. For example, if the virgin compound has 2.1 phr of Sulphur then add 0.6 phr Sulphur for a new total of 2.7 phr as determined by experimentation. If the accelerator was 1.2 phr then increase it to 1.5 phr to maintain ratio of Sulfur to accelerator. Mechanical Properties * Heavy Truck Tread loaded with at 15% has similar mechanicals to control (see green line; control is 1.0). * Important: The percent added to the compound must be established by the product and client requirements. Loading of varies according to the application (ex: 10% to 40%). HTT Compound substituted with at 15% has similar mechanicals to control compound. HTT = Heavy Truck Tread
