What is Solarize Westchester?

Solar. Simple. Together. Makes solar simple, affordable and accessible to Ossining and Briarcliff homeowners and commercial property owners. Model has been implemented across the country. State and municipally supported program.

Solar. Simple. Together. Uses group purchasing model and installers chosen by Ossining-Briarcliff. Community support reduces installer costs those savings are shared with customers through lower prices. Uses coordinated education and marketing and outreach effort in an 18-week campaign. Tiered pricing rewards community participation everyone benefits!

NYS Role Provides funding for Solarize Westchester administration. For all PV installations (not just Solarize) Offers incentives for solar installations (installers must meet NYS requirements to be able to offer incentives) Tax credit for solar installations

Solarize Westchester Role Select communities to participate based on solarfriendliness, community support, strength of local team. Create framework for installer selection. Develop and offer marketing materials and tools. Administer program. Also working with towns on streamlined solar permitting and removing zoning barriers. Solarize Westchester is a collaboration of Energy Improvement Corporation, Abundant Efficiency, Sustainable Westchester, SmartPower, Croton Energy Group, Pace Law School.
