User Maintenance Kit Dear Customer, This document will guide you through the maintenance for the Océ CS9000 Eco-Solvent series printers. All necessary tools, accessories and parts are collected in one kit: the User Maintenance Kit. Please contact your Authorized Reseller for more details regarding pricing and availability. Monthly 6 Change the upper sponge at the back of the capping station. 6 Monthly Notes : All cleaning in Ink areas must be done with Eco-Solvent cleaning. 4 Weekly Maintenance 1.1.1.1 1.1.1.2 4.1 Clean the edges of the caps and the area around the caps Procedure (4 steps) : Step 1 : Power ON the printer and go to the WiperClean-Menu, DON T press enter when in it. This will cause the unlocking of the carriage. Step 2 : Clean the edges of the caps (1) with the cleaning swab (2), if necessary use some Eco solvent cleaning liquid. 1 = Edge of cap 2 = Cleaning Swabs Step 3 : Clean the area around the caps with a polyknit wiper. 1 = Gloves 2 = Polyknit wiper AP-40541 Page 3 / 10
Step 4 : Press the [ENTER] key in the active display (=WiperClean menu) End of the procedure 4.2 Cleaning around the bottom of heads Procedure (5 steps) : Step 1 : Step 2 : Open the left maintenance covers by removing the four screws. Power ON the printer and go to the WiperClean-Menu, DON T press enter when in it. This will cause the unlocking of the carriage. Step 3 : Step 4 : Slide the carriage into the left maintenance area. Clean the edges of the heads with a swab (1) wetted by eco solvent cleaning as shown on the image below. Caution : Make sure you do not touch the nozzle plate; this would lead to poorer print quality. Every 2 weeks maintenance 5.1 Cleaning the wipers Procedure (3 steps) : Step 1 : Power ON the printer and go to the WiperClean-Menu, DON T press enter when in it. This will cause the unlocking of the carriage. Step 2 : Clean the wipers (3) with a polyknit wiper (2), use some Eco solvent cleaning liquid to remove drops of ink. 6. Monthly 1.1.1.3 6.1 Replacing the wipers Procedure (8 steps) : Step 1 : Go to the WiperClean menu and DON T press enter when in it. Going to the WiperClean menu will unlock the head Step 2 : Step 3 : Step 4 : Slide the carriage to the left side of the machine. Remove the old wipers with a pair of tweezers Before inserting a new wiper, moisten the wiper with eco solvent liquid. (See picture below) Step 5 : Standing in front of the printer, hold the wiper as shown on the image below. Step 6 : Insert the moistened wiper with a pair of tweezers as shown on the image below. Step 7 : Push the wiper until it clicks in the wiper holder. (See image below) Step 8 : Close the front cover and press the [ENTER] key in the active display (=WiperClean menu) Note : Be careful not to break the lips of the wiper arm while installing the wipers. Do not touch the wipers with your bare hands to avoid fat or dirt get in contact with the wipers and the nozzle plate. Use a pair of tweezers to avoid this. End of procedure AP-40541 Page 7 / 10
6.2 Replacing the sponge in the spitting box. Note : Use gloves and tweezers to change the absorbent in the flushing box. Procedure (5 steps) : Step 1 : Go to the WiperClean menu and DON T press enter when in it. Going to the WiperClean menu will unlock the head Step 2 : Step 3 : The carriage moves to the waiting position for replacing the flushing sponge. Remove the old absorbents with tweezers. (See image below) 1 = Sponge 29801281 2 = Tweezers 3 = Gloves Step 4 : Install the new absorbents in the flushing box. 1 = Two holes 2 = Pin of black box AP-40541 Page 8 / 10
Note : a. Make sure that the 2 holes are on the right side of the flushing box and that the pins of the black box are in the holes of the absorbent. Step 5 : Close the front cover and press the [ENTER] key in the active display (=WiperClean menu) End of the procedure 7 Maintenance every 6 months 7.1 Change upper sponge at back of the capping station. Procedure (4 steps) : Step 1 : Go to the WiperClean menu and DON T press enter when in it. Going to the WiperClean menu will unlock the head Step 2 : Remove the two screws fixing the sponge (1). 1 = Screws fixing the sponge (1) Procedure goes further on next page Step 3 : Replace the sponge and tighten it again to the plate with the two screws.
