2 General Description All Access 600 Multi Point Locks The Corbin Russwin multi-point lock combines all standard access control components into a single device. This integrated approach significantly reduces installation time and creates a streamlined aesthetic that blends flawlessly into any environment. The Access 600 features an open architecture platform that can easily be integrated into existing access control systems. Tools Required - (Same for all Series Products) Phillips screw driver UL and CUL listed for use on Fire Doors Multi point lock furnished for 1-3/4" doors Fail safe or fail secure available Drill with bits Door Position Switch (708F989) supplied for monitoring 24VDC solenoid-operated trim available Wire from EAC Panel to door must be shielded with a drain terminated at EAC Panel controller Access 600 MP9800 Series Multi Point Lock Cylinder override available for MP9800 with Auxiliary Control Slotted screw driver 3 Hardware Specifications 4 Electronic Specifications 12VDC System: Reader Draw = 150mA 12VDC Solenoid Draw= 500mA Total System Draw = 650mA 24VDC System: #8-32 tap & drill (for metal door applications) The M802 125 khz (proximity) version of the Open Architecture Wiegand Access Control platform requires a proximity card/fob/tag presentation to gain entry. The 125 khz reader operates on 12 VDC. The M812 13.56 MHz iclass (contactless) version of Open Architecture Wiegand Access Control Platform requires an iclass card/fob/tag presentation to gain entry. The 13.56 MHz iclass reader operates on 12VDC or 24VDC. 6 Installation Instructions A) Door Preparation Inside 1. Verify Hand and Bevel of Door -(Figure 1) Check hand of door. The multi-point lock may be handed. Door should be fitted and hung. Verify box label for size of the multi-point lock, function and hand. Change hand if necessary. Left Hand Reverse LHR Fig. 1- Handing Outside Access 600 Right Hand Reverse RHR 2. Door Preparation If door is not pre-drilled, prepare door according to the appropriate template. Refer to templates at www.corbinrusswin.com. (Figure 2). B) Rod and Top Case Installation 1. Refer to instruction sheet FM438 for rod and inner case installation on metal doors. 2. Refer to instruction sheet FM436 for rod and inner case installation on wood doors. (Figure 3). 6 Installation Instructions - Continued C) Install Outside and Inside Trim Outside Trim 1. For exterior applications, use gasket (765F859) to seal escutcheon and outside door surface (Figure 4). 2. Feed wire through the through hole and attach the outside exit trim to the door. Fig. 4 Outside Exit trim Inside Trim 1. Position trim carefully onto the inside of the door. Be careful not to pinch wire harness. 2. Mount inside trim lever using (2) # 1/4"-20 x 3" Philips oval head machine screws. (Figure 5). Fig. 5 Inside Exit trim D) Install Outside Escutcheon 1. Feed the reader cable connector located on the back of the outside escutcheon from the outside of door through the ribbon cable hole on the door. (Figure 6). 6 Installation Instructions - Continued E) Install Inside Mounting Plate On Multi Point Lock Without MELR 1. Securely tighten the outside escutcheon with (2) #8-32 x 2" Phillips lat head screws through the mounting plate. (Figure 7). Fig. 7 (2) #8-32 x 2" Phillips Flat Head Screws On Multi Point Lock With MELR F) Preparation of MELR Mounting Holes (If Required) Important: If the manufacturer has not pre-drilled the door, prepare the door per instructions below, using plastic template included with the device. Screw hole orientation is not affected by handing. (See Figures 8a-8d). If the door is pre-drilled by the manufacturer, continue to instructions on the following page. Mark Vertical Centerline Fig. 8a Centerline 1. Mark vertical centerline of slot and wire hole on door. (See Figure 8a). 2. Mount template onto plate as shown. For wood doors, ensure the template notch is touching the rod to provide lateral positioning. (See Figure 8c). Wire Hole 3. Check that template is square to door. (See Figure 8b). 4. Using template bushings as a guide, drill (4) 1/16" holes. (See Figure 8d). Fig. 8b- Template Template in Position 5. Remove template. 6. For metal door, increase 1/16" pilot holes to #29 (.136) and tap for #8-32. 6 Installation Instructions - Continued G) Installation of MELR Assembly Door Fig. 9a 1. Install the upper left mounting screw, #8-32 x 5/8" Fillister head for metal door and #8 x 5/8" self tapping wood screw for wood doors. (See Figure 9a). Mounting Bracket Note: Leave the screw loose enough to slide the MELR assembly on. 2. Snake the wire through the MELR assembly. Upper Left Mounting Screw 3. Slide the mounting bracket of the MELR assembly underneath the installed screw and secure in place. IMPORTANT: Ensure MELR retraction lever is resting on plate. (Fig. 11). 4. Completely tighten the upper left mounting screw. IMPORTANT: Be careful not to pinch or disconnect the wires located in that area. 5a. Install the remaining (3) #8-32 x 5/8" Fillister mounting screws on metal doors. (See Figure 9b.) 5b. Install the remaining (3) #8 x 5/8" self tapping wood screws on wood doors. (See Figure 9b.) 6. Install (2) 1/4"self-tapping screws on either diagonal, one above molex connector and one below. (Figure 10). Fig. 9b 7. Connect the 8-pin molex connectors. 6 Installation Instructions - Continued H) Attach Trim Ground Wire 1. Connect pin 5 green/yellow ground wire ring terminal (from the inside trim) to top left screw. (Figure 12). Connect P3 (2-pin connector) from lock body or MELR assembly to J3 on interior PCB assembly. 2. Connect P4 (6-pin connector) from lock body assembly to J4 on interior PCB assembly. 3. Connect P5 (7-pin connector) from Reader board to J5 on interior PCB assembly. 4. Connect ElectroLynx harness (4 and 8-pin) from door harness to ElectroLynx harness on interior PCB assembly. Note that connectors go on only one way. Do not offset connector and be sure they are completely seated. 6 Installation Instructions - Continued J) Position Inside Escutcheon and Wires (for Access 600 x M802) Please follow these steps prior to installing inside escutcheon assembly to prevent any damage caused by pinching wires: 1. Align the ElectroLynx connectors (8 and 4-pin) to one side of the wire guide inside of the door prep. The reader connections and excess wire are arranged on the other. 2. Connect the ElectroLynx connectors (8 and 4-pin) and establish their position inside of the door prep on the proper side of the wire guide. (Figure 14). 3. Neatly route the remaining wires onto themselves and into the remaining space to prevent pinching wires when mounting the escutcheon. (Figure 15). 6 Installation Instructions - Continued L) Attach Connectors-Exterior PCB Assembly- (for Access 600 x M812) 1. Connect P3 (2-pin connector) from lock body or MELR to J3 on module (Figure 17). 2. Connect P4 (6-pin connector) from lock body to J4 on module (Figure 17). Align the ElectroLynx connectors (8 and 4-pin) to one side of the wire guide inside of the door prep. The reader connections and excess wire are arranged on the other. 2. Connect the ElectroLynx connectors (8 and 4-pin) and establish their position inside of the door prep on the proper side of the wire guide. 3. Neatly route the remaining wires onto themselves and into the remaining space to prevent pinching wires when mounting the escutcheon. Verify that no wires are being pinched. 2. Mount inside escutcheon assembly to plate using (1) #8-32 x 5/8" Phillips lat head undercut machine screw. (Figure 18-20). Concealed Door Position Switch Model 708F989 is included with this product. System integrator shall determine use and installation location. 2. Drill a 1" Diameter Hole for both the Magnet and the Switch. Both holes shall be 1" Deep and for the Switch (if needed) drill a 1/4" hole for the wires. 3. Connect the common wire of the switch to the common input terminal of the EAC. 4. Connect the normally open wire of the switch to the normally open input terminal of the EAC. 9 Mechanical Operational Check For devices without cylinders, go to Section 6: Step C. 1. For devices with cylinders, insert key into cylinder and rotate. 2. The key will retract the latch and rods, the key should rotate freely. 10 Electrical Operational Check Note: Once electrical wiring has been successfully completed according to proper application, complete the following steps: 1. Turn power ON. 2. Verify LED located on reader is ON. Red or Green depending on reader configuration (See reader LED Configuration). 3. Present proximity credential and verify LED and sounder activity. 4. Verify valid card read at EAC Panel. 5. Verify system operation functions; i.e., when credential is presented to reader that the door unlocks. (Figure 22).
