WELCOME! Thank you for purchasing the Fuzion V1000, the most advanced electric scooter ever produced. The V1000 is designed for a new world of transportation. It significantly reduces commuting time, transportation costs and also results in a smaller carbon footprint. Above all, it also provides a super fun, fast, and safe riding experience. Please read this manual in detail. It provides an overview of the operation, maintenance and warranty for the V1000. It also provides important safety instructions and essential tips on dramatically extending the life of your product. Reviewing proper maintenance for your battery care is very important and may extend its life significantly. Please refer to our website www.fuzionscooter.com for additional information on safety, maintenance, trouble shooting and customer service. Be sure to always wear safety equipment including a helmet, pads, shoes and protective clothing. We would love to hear from you. Please feel free to send your comments to CS@nextsport.com. And above all have fun!! BEFORE YOU START The Fuzion V1000 scooter is equipped with a safe start feature and must be kicked manually to approximately 2 MPH before the motor will operate. Once moving you may begin to press down on the throttle and power will be applied from the motor. The outlined procedure will need to be repeated during every start. For safety please follow these basic guidelines: Always wear a helmet and appropriate protection when using this scooter. Be aware of your surroundings and road conditions. Do not ride in unsafe road conditions. Do not ride with 1 hand or attempt to carry cargo on this scooter. Do not ride this product on unpaved, rough, or uneven pavement. Check all folding mechanisms for end play before riding. Ensure that all the mechanisms are solidly locked and undamaged. Do not ride the device through the water, oil, and ice on the ground. Avoid using in cold conditions as these may have adverse effect on battery life Do not place the scooter in water. It can cause a short-circuit fault of the motor, controller, and battery. Try to avoid riding the scooter in wet or poor weather conditions. Please charge the device at least once every 30 days and after EVERY use. Check all suspension and wheel bolts for tightness periodically. Inspect the scooters overall condition. Check with your local laws and regulations regarding the use of electric scooters. Modifications void manufacturer s warranty. Adult supervision required for charging and operation of the scooter. Please refer to the battery care section for charging information. A CAUTION ABOUT SCOOTER RIDING You will see people on various videos and maybe even people you know doing tricks, stunts, and jumps. These are people who have been practicing on scooters for an extended period of time. Build your skills gradually in order to minimize risk and injury. Skateboard parts are not designed for scooters. Riding electric scooters involves a level of risk. Please be sure to ride conservatively and away from traffic. 1

PROPER BRAKE USE: WARNING: AVOID INTENTIONALLY SLIDING THE REAR WHEEL BY RAPIDLY DEPRESSING THE BRAKE. THIS MAY CAUSE FLAT SPOTS ON THE REAR CAUSING AN UNEVEN RIDE. To brake the Z1000, gradually pull the brake lever until the scooter begins to slow at the desired rate. If the lever is pulled too hard it can lock the back wheel and cause a loss of stability and traction. It is recommended to gently and gradually apply pressure to the brake lever. This will take some practice. Take the V1000 out to a low traffic area and practice proper braking to familiarize yourself with these methods before heading into a high traffic area. Noise from the disc braking system is normal and can vary in frequency and level depending on conditions. This will not reduce braking performance. HELPFUL HINTS: The disc brake is very powerful. Be sure to fully test and understand the force required by your hand to effective brake the scooter. WARNING: AVOID RIDING THE SCOOTER IN WET OR SLIPPERY CONDITIONS AS THE BRAKE WILL BE PRONE TO LOCKING AND BRAKING EFFECTIVENESS WILL BE GREATLY REDUCED. ADDITION ITEMS TO AVOID INCLUDE MANHOLE COVERS AND PAINTED LINES ON THE ROAD SURFACE. CAREFULLY AND SLOWLY RELEASE AND REAPPLY THE BRAKE IF LOCKING OCCURS. The rear disc brake does require adjustment periodically. This can be done by your local Fuzion dealer or you can attempt to adjust the brake yourself. This can be done by rotating the adjustment collar counter clockwise to take up cable length. Please refer to the maintenance tutorials on our website for proper brake adjustment. If additional adjustment is required contact a local FUZION V1000 dealer. 5

MAINTENANCE TIPS It is the responsibility of the owner or guardian to periodically inspect the wheels, nuts, T-bar, tightness of T-bar and bearings for wear and tear, and check for proper tightness. Always make sure to tighten all bolts and nuts before you ride. Eventually wheels, self-locking nuts and bearings wear and need replacement. The lives of these components depend on the kind of riding done. Lots of braking will wear out wheels, and riding in dirty or wet conditions will prematurely shorten bearing and fasteners life. Worn wheels and bearings are considered normal wear-and-tear and are not covered by the Nextsport Limited Warranty. Wheels other than genuine Fuzion wheels may not be compatible with your scooter. Always use genuine Fuzion replacement parts. CLEANING YOUR SCOOTER Wipe with a damp cloth to remove dirt and dust. Do not use industrial cleaners or solvents as they may damage the surfaces. Do not use alcohol, alcohol-based or ammonia-based cleaners as they may damage or dissolve the plastic components or soften the decals or decal adhesive. 6

ALWAYS, BEFORE YOU RIDE WARNING: ALWAYS INSPECT SCOOTER PRIOR TO RIDING. Proper inspection and maintenance of your scooter can reduce the risk of injury. Check all fasteners before every ride. Always inspect your scooter before riding, and maintain it regularly. Replace worn or broken parts immediately. Adults must assist children in the assembly and initial adjustment procedure. WARNING: REGARDING USE OF NON-NEXTSPORT PRODUCTS WITH YOUR FUZION SCOOTER. Your scooter has been built according to Nextsport s design specifications. All the original equipment supplied at the time of sale was selected on the basis of compatibility with the frame, wheels, pivots, and all other parts. Certain after-market products may or may not be compatible with YOUR Fuzion scooter. Contact Nextsport s customer service prior to modifying or replacing any component with a non-factory specified part. WARNING: CHECK ALL LOCAL LAWS REGARDING SCOOTER USE. Check all local laws and regulations to see where and how you may use your Fuzion scooter legally. In many states and local areas, scooter riders are required BY LAW to wear a helmet. Check and obey local laws and regulations regarding helmet use and scooter operation in your area. WARNING: BRAKE MECHANISM WILL GET HOT FROM CONTINUOUS USE. Do not touch after braking. WARNING: REMEMBER TO ALWAYS WEAR PROTECTIVE GEAR. This includes but is not limited to helmet, elbow pads, and knee pads. RIDER S CHECK LIST Before riding, remember to: Check the brake. Tighten the clamp. Tighten and secure the wheels and axles. Make sure the wheels spin freely. Be sure to wear all properly adjusted safety gear. 7

BATTERY CARE: Be sure to charge the scooter after every use. Allow the light on the charger to turn green indicating a full charge before disconnecting. Do not leave the charger sitting plugged into the wall or scooter for extended periods of time (more than 24 hours). Not following these guidelines can result in damage not covered under the manufacturer s limited warranty. WARNING: Be sure to fully charge the scooter prior to long term storage. While in storage it is mandatory to fully recharge the battery every month. Not recharging the battery, when not reusing the scooter over extended periods (4 weeks) will cause severe damage to the battery. CHARGING: Before charging, ensure the scooter is switched off, then open the cover on the charging socket near the front of the scooter on the kickstand side. Connect the charger plug to the charging socket (see the section component overview for location of the charging socket on the V1000). Now connect the charging unit into the wall outlet. The battery is charging while the charger LED is red. The charger LED will become green when it is fully charged. To stop charging, remove the plug from the power outlet, then remove the circular plug from the scooter s charging socket. ATTENTION: After charging has completed remove the charging unit from the wall outlet and scooter charging socket. This must be completed after every charging operation. Failure to remove and reconnect the charger from the wall outlet will cause a no charge condition. This will be a green charge indicator light when connected but charging function is not preformed. Disconnect the charging unit from the wall outlet for 1 minute then reconnect to initiate charging operation. 8
