The systems supplier for manufacturing technology from one source A flexible pick-up turning system for small, medium and large-volume production UNIVERTOR A Pick-up-turning centre
Pick-up-turning procedure UNIVERTOR AD The machine s outstanding advantages are: Low piece costs through extremely high rapid traverse speeds of up to 100 m/min User-friendly design allowing for free access to the clamping equipment, tools and pick-up positions Slide guideways, path measurement systems and ball screws are outside the cutting area Free falling of chips Compact construction without compromising easy maintenance Extremely high rigidity provided by a strongly ribbed monoblock machine column made of high-class spheroidal graphite iron, with optimum damping properties Enabling hard as well as soft turning operations The machine s high basic accuracy in connection with integrated sample measurements for tool wear compensation guarantees constant process quality. UNIVERTOR A The UNIVERTOR A turning machine is the consistent continuation of the successful pick-up technology based on an innovation by WEISSER. Thanks to its modular machine design, synergy is achieved thoughout our entire machine production range. UNIVERTOR AS Principle drawing showing a motor spindle with precision spindle bearing. UNIVERTOR A A turning centre for universal use Thanks to its modular design, the single spindle vertical turning centre can be laid out optimally for the operation with regard to batch size and technology. You can combine processes like turning and grinding, drilling/milling and finishing without any problem. It is possible to use various workpiece transport systems. Working area with multi-spindle drilling heads for drilling and thread cutting. NC- grinding unit for the machining of brake disks. Turning and external grinding. 3
UNIVERTOR AD A twin-spindle turning centre for complete machining processes The UNIVERTOR AD further expands the possibilities of twin machines for complete machining in two clampings. Depending on the transport system design, synchronous and/or follow-up operations can be carried out. 4 Working area with two 8-station disc-type turrets and two additional frictional tools. Machining of a brake disk. 4-fold block tool for the gear production.
UNIVERTOR AT For optimum productivity in large-scale production The UNIVERTOR AT is a double spindle turning machine for synchronous machining operation as per the Twin principle. Requiring the same installation surface and at reasonable investment costs the UNIVERTOR AT produces twice the volume of parts. Tool compensations are automatically calculated in all axes. Pallet automation. Shuttle transport of the workpieces. Working area with two disc-type turrets. 5
UNIVERTOR AS For the horizontal machining of shafts using the pick-up principle The shaft turning centre, available in different sizes, profits from all the advantages of the pick-up principle. There is no need to use expensive and lavish automation systems. On the sizes 400 and 650 the motor spindle and the NC tailstock are mounted on a common cross slide. On the size 1000 two disc-type turrets are used (4-axes machining). Shaft machining with the rotational process. Shaft machining with steadyrest support. Cardan shaft machining. 6
UNIVERTOR AE UNIVERTOR AE for the machining of gear shafts using the pick-up principle, above all this is clearly advantageous for the automation. Picture above Machining of crankshaft ends. The left crown turret is placed on an NC slide, which enables the machining of both shaft ends at the same time. Machining of shaft ends with block tools. The left unit can be used for simultaneous machining. Machining of shaft ends with two crown turrets. Crankshaft as blank- and finished part. 7
