N. Canon Drive Study MOA approved by City Council November 21, 2017 Response to stakeholder concerns regarding construction impacts Study the temporary closure of N. Canon Drive Feasibility analysis has been completed 42

Canon Study Overview Transportation impact analysis for the potential closure of N. Canon Drive at Wilshire Boulevard during construction Analyzed impacts to nearby intersections during peak morning and afternoon commute hours and midday business hours Studied 15 intersections in the vicinity of the closure Considered Existing and Future (Year 2022) with travel demands from pending development projects and regional growth

Impacted Intersections These intersections would experience an increase congestion or delays greater than the City s standards for traffic impacts: Wilshire & Beverly - AM peak hour Wilshire & Crescent - AM and PM peak hours Clifton Way & N. Crescent - AM, midday and PM peak hours Dayton Way & N. Canon Drive - PM peak hour

Recommended Improvements Provide Advanced Vehicle Detour Signage to notify drivers to select alternate routes further to the east and west to avoid overly congested locations Update Traffic Signal Timings to accommodate the shift in vehicle flows and provide additional green time to the heaviest turning movements Install Traffic Signal at Clifton Way & N. Crescent Drive Intersection to replace current all-way stop signs

Next Steps Provide feedback today Traffic and Parking Commission on February 1 Additional community meeting on February 7 Recommend concept to City Council in March If approved, begin design development Install before decking, remain in place until road reconstruction 46
