Disssemly 1. Remove ontrol hnle y first removing throttleonly utton. Ple the ontrol hnle in the throttle-only position. Push In on utton n ple ontrol hnle forwr. Throttle-only utton n now e remove. If utton nnot e remove with fingers, use smll srewriver n pry out gently. 3. Remove hnle n hnle ushing. Ple Control in Throttle-Only Position Before Attempting To Remove Button 74407 - Bushing 4. Fee trim wires from ehin ezel n unplug t onnetor. 74410 - Hnle Assemly - Throttle-Only Button 2. Remove 11/16 retiner olt holing hnle to moule. - Wiring Hrness Connetor - Trim n Trilering Swith Wiring Connetor - Trim n Trilering Swith Wires 74406 - Hnle Assemly - Retining Bolt 74409 11-2 - COMMANDER 3000 CLASSIC PANEL MOUNT REMOTE CONTROL 90-814705R2
5. Remove ezel over using smll srewriver n prying on either the top or ottom of ezel to pop ts out of the ezel nothes. 7. Remove ezel from ot pnel y removing srews n nuts s shown. 74405 - Bezel Cover - Cover T - Noth in Bezel - Bezel 6. Remove moule ssemly y loosening three.250x20x.750 hex srews fstening moule ssemly to ezel ssemly. 74404 - Srew.250x20x1.750 (3) - Wshers (3) - Nuts.250x20 (3) - Mounting Surfe 8. Remove lnyr swith y pushing up on lnyr retiner, lote on k of ezel. Lote wire onnetions for swith n unplug. Push lnyr retiner over swith on the rer sie of ezel to hol swith into ple. 54592 55133 Instll spring into roun oss on top of re shift relese lever. Atth oth spring n lever to ontrol hnle y positioning shift lever spring over hnle grip srew. Push Up n In on shift lever until srew oss is lote into shift lever slot. Instll srew n wsher. - Lnyr Retiner - Bezel - Lnyr Swith 4. Instll frition set srew using 1/8 llen wrenh. Do not instll llen srew eyon flush with enter ore. 5. Fee lnyr swith wires through mounting surfe hole n instll ezel to mounting surfe using three srews, torque to 100 l. in. (11.3 N m). 7. Instll the ezel over. Seure the ezel over y inserting the over ts into the nothes in the ezel. 74404 - Srew.250x20x1.750 (3) - Wshers (3) - Nuts.250x20 (3) - Mounting Surfe NOTE: If mounting hole hs not een instlle, refer to Instlltion n Opertions Guie for hole imensions n templtes. 6. Instll ontrol moule ssemly to ezel using three.250x20x.750 hex srews. Torque to 25 l. in. 74405 - Bezel Cover - Cover T - Noth in Bezel - Bezel 8. Route the trim swith n trilering swith les from the hnle ssemly thru the ezel opening s shown. 54587 -.250x20x.750 Hex Srews - Control Moule Assemly - Bezel If ontrol moule is not ssemle, refer to Moule Assemly in Setion 13. CAUTION Verify trim/triler wires re not pinhe when mounting remote ontrol moule to pnel of ot. Trim wires must e free to move with the remote ontrol hnle. 10. Instll the ushing into the Commner 3000 Clssi ezel. Line up the noth in the ezel with the retngulr protrusion in the ushing. CAUTION DO NOT st-strp or otherwise seure trim les within 12 in. (305 mm) of pnel exit. Allow suffiient slk in les to permit free movement of trim les through the full rnge of shift hnle motion. 9. Connet the trim n trilering swith wires to pproprite wiring hrness. 74407 - Wiring Hrness Connetor - Trim n Trilering Swith Wiring Connetor - Trim n Trilering Swith Wires 74406 - Noth in Bezel - Retngulr Protrusion - Bushing WARNING The ontrol hnle 11/16 in. hex retining olt must e torque to 150 l. in. (17 N m). Filure to torque retining olt s speifie oul llow hnle to isengge with susequent loss of throttle/shift ontrol. If the remote ontrol hnle is remove n reinstlle for ny reson, ple Lotite 271 (otin lolly) on thres of retining olt n torque to 150 l. in. (17 N m). Exessive tightening torque my result in hnle shft filure. 11. Ple hnle ssemly onto the remote ontrol moule in the neutrl etent position n seure with 11/16 in. rss hex olt. Torque olt to 150 l. in.
