SIMOBREAKER The outdoor switchgear with rotary disconnector Smaller transformer stations with single busbar, industrial plants or wind power stations place special demands on outdoor switchgear. The SIMOBREAKER with rotary disconnector was specially designed for these conditions for economical and reliable power supply at a nominal voltage level of 123 to 145 kv. The alternative to traditional outdoor technology The SIMOBREAKER offers an efficient and space-saving alternative for cases where conventional outdoor switchgear with separately mounted high-voltage equipment was previously used. Everything integrated All necessary equipment such as circuit-breaker, disconnector, earthing switch and transformers are combined together in SIMOBREAKER. Complex connections with cables and tubes are just as unnecessary as the provision of separate foundations, steel structures and earthing connections for each individual device. The user is provided with an efficient and standardized overall concept through the intelligent combination and skilful integration of the components of a high-voltage switchgear bay. The user receives a fully preassembled system from a single source: There is no need for the customer to provide any items, the effort involved in matching up and coordination is significantly less and interface problems are completely avoided. New and reliable The design principle of SIMOBREAKER is new, but reliable. These components include the motor operating mechanism to give a visible isolating gap, the current/combined transformer for protection and measuring purposes, the outdoor cubicle containing the control and protection systems (optional) and of course the 3AP1 circuit-breaker, alternatively as variant 3AP1-FG (3-pole auto-reclosing) or 3AP1-FI (1/3-pole autoreclosing). All switchgear bays are extensively preassembled and can be put together quickly and easily on site with the aid of the installation instructions, due to the preparations made in the factory. High and consistent quality is assured due to the comprehensive extent of preassembly in qualified production facilities. Uncomplicated, convincing switching principle The SIMOBREAKER switching principle is notable for its uncomplicated mode of operation: The connection between the circuit-breaker and transformer is created by turning the dual rotary disconnector that is located on the rotating post insulator. Standardized local control cubicles The switchgear bay can be equipped with a standardized local control cubicle, if required by the customer. It contains all equipment necessary to operate, monitor and protect a feeder. This cubicle is installed directly on the baseframe. Consequently, with an auxiliary power supply connection, the SIMOBREAKER is fully ready for operation. The control and protection concept is designed to comply with customary specifications. It therefore comprises all functions required for safe and reliable operation. Certified to international and national standards The convincing SIMOBREAKER concept has been proven and certified by means of a range of tests internationally in accordance with IEC and ANSI standards, nationally in accordance with VDE.
