PRECAUTIONARY WARNING! The Pack-Master Air, Spark Resistant is designed to not produce any sparks when operated. The Pack-Master Air, Spark Resistant is not explosion proof. Care must be taken in the types of materials you are compacting. Objects of dissimilar metal types placed in the compacting drum can rub together during compaction and produce a spark. If a spark is produced in the presence of volatile vapors, explosion or fire may occur resulting in injury. Please read and understand all operation instructions as detailed in this manual. Failure to follow specified instructions may result in equipment damage or serious injury to personnel. Unit is not designed for crushing of glass containers or items that may shatter or contain volatile vapors. Keep compacted waste drums away from heat, sparks and flame No smoking. Always consult your Facility Safety and/or Personnel Department for specified safety protocols prior to operating this equipment. If using the Sorbent Basket: Always refer to the Product Safety Data Sheet for specific chemical handling and safety instructions Keep liquid container closed when not in use. Store in a cool/low temperature, well-ventilated place away from heat and ignition sources. Use only in well-ventilated area. Avoid chemical contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Caustics, pesticides, insecticides, and white metals should not be collected into a drum with other liquid residuals and should be segregated in designated containers labeled properly.

The Pack-Master Air, Spark Resistant model is shipped fully assembled. REMOVING UNIT FROM PALLET Use care in tipping the unit when removing it from the pallet as the Pack-Master unit is top heavy. Have one person support the air cylinder while another person removes the pallet from underneath the unit. 1. Carefully remove the upper wood framework from the shipping crate so that the unit still rests on the pallet base. DO NOT REMOVE the plastic bands securing the unit to the pallet and the control arm to the uprights at this time. 2. You can then use a pallet jack or forklift to move the unit to the final location where the Pack- Master will be used. Remove the bands securing the unit to the pallet and slide the Pack-Master off of the pallet onto the floor. 3. Once the Pack-Master is off the pallet and resting flat on the floor, you may use the wheel kit to move the unit from one location to the next. 4. Standing behind the wheels, grasp the top of the uprights opposite the control arm with one hand. Support the air cylinder with the other hand. Place a foot on the axle and tip the unit back and up on the wheels to move the unit. NOTE: Please use caution when standing unit upright to prevent it from falling forward. CONNECTING THE AIR SUPPLY The Pack-Master is supplied with a pigtail and a standard quick-disconnect fitting that may be coupled to an air hose supplying a minimum of 85 psi. You may also remove the pigtail and hard-plumb the unit to an airline if the unit is stationary.

PACK-MASTER AIR SPARK RESISTANT AIR FILTER/LUBRICATOR INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS (OPTIONAL ITEM) After uncrating the Pack-Master Air, Spark Resistant compactor, you may then install the Air Filter/Lubricator. 1. Remove the small Secondary mounting plate bolt that secures the Control Arm Bracket. 2. Place the Air Filter/Lubricator mounting plate saddle over the Control Arm Bracket. NOTE: The Filter/Lubricator will be facing the front of the machine with the back of the mounting plate saddle against the Control Arm Bracket upright. 3. Align the hole in the mounting plate saddle with the Secondary Mounting bolt hole in the Control Arm Bracket. 4. Reinstall the Secondary mounting bolt. 5. Connect the existing, Pack-Master air supply pigtail into the inlet of the Air Filter/Lubricator. 6. OPERATION 1. To operate the Pack-Master Air, Spark Resistant unit connect the compactor air supply line (#5) to any compressed air source up to 150 psi. (Minimum 85 psi) 2. Lift the Safety Control Arm (#10) to a horizontal position, against the stop. This assures safety control valve (#12) is completely depressed. The Safety Control Valve must be depressed for the unit to operate. 3. Move Ram Control Valve (joystick) (#11) toward handle end, (backwards) to lower ram. Release Ram Control Valve and ram plate will stop. Move ram control valve (Joystick) toward the unit (forward) to raise ram. Control Arm must continue to be held in horizontal position for Ram Plate to move. PRECAUTIONARY WARNING Unit is not designed for crushing of glass containers or items that may shatter or contain volatile vapors. Dropping the Safety Control Arm at any time will stop movement of the Ram Plate. Do not remove, modify or change controls in any way. Never alter or change equipment design. Keep arms & hands away from compactor ram and drum lip while compacting. Failure to do so may cause personal injury. Do not exceed 150 psi as damage to unit or operator may result. Always make sure air supply line is disconnected before performing any cleaning of the compactor. With the air line disconnected, the ram plate may gradually lower after a long period of time. Ram assembly mounting plate must be mounted on underside of uprights. Do not permanently bolt the Pack-Master to the floor as damage and breakage of ram assembly and personal injury may occur.
