INTRODUCTION This manual contains specifications, operation, maintenance, and parts ordering information. Throughout this manual, the use of the terms Left, Right, Front, and Rear must be understood to avoid confusion. Left and Right indicate the left and right sides of the trailer when facing the rear hitch of the trailer. When ordering parts, always specify the trailer Serial No., which is stamped on the name plate attached to the front end of the trailer. OPERATION Parking Brake: The trailer is equipped with a manual towbar actuated parking brake. To activate the parking brake, raise the towbar to the vertical position until it latches. To release the parking brake, pull up the parking brake latch while pushing in on the top of the towbar. When the towbar unlatches, lower it and release the latch. CAUTION When towing carts in trains, avoid extreme sharp turns. Carts may contact each other and cause damage!! Introduction-Operation Nov. 18/97 Page 7
MAINTENANCE Tires: If replacement is necessary, the tires can be removed by first lifting the side of the trailer. The tires can then be removed by removing the four bolts, and sliding the tire off. Hubs: The wheel hub bearings have been packed at the factory with wheel bearing grease. Every twelve (12) months the hubs should be repacked. Vertical Spindle Housing: The spindle housing bearings have been packed at the factory. Every twelve (12) months the hub should be lubed through the grease zerk provided in the hub. Parking Brake: To adjust the parking brakes for proper tension, adjust the threads on the eye bolt on the hitch end to the proper tension to achieve the desired brake pressure. Lug Bolts: Lug bolts should be checked and retorqued to 100 ft./lbs., if necessary. Rear Hitch: For proper performance, every 3 months perform the following. A. Clean and check for proper operation. Inspect for worn, damaged or missing parts. Replace as required using only WASP parts. B. Torque 1/2 nuts to 110 ft.-lbs. Maintenance Jan. 12/06 Page 8
