Request for Proposal (RFP) Overview 14

Fast chargers along highway corridors Fast chargers are: Useful for on the way charging, including along highways More expensive Require a lot of energy to operate Eligible for funding in this grant round as part of full corridor applications Level 2 chargers are: Useful at locations where people park for 15 minutes or more Less expensive Require less power and are easier to install NOT eligible for funding in this grant round. Grant funding for these will be available soon. 15

Funding $1.4 million Total Available for this RFP Maximum available it 80% of project costs: Up to $170,000 for total project costs for 150kW fast charging station (Albert Lea) Up to $70,000 for total project costs per 50 kw fast charging station Funding for 22 new charging stations Grantees will be required to provide a 20% cash match 18

Eligibility Applicant eligibility For profit, Nonprofit Public entities, state, local and tribal governments Applicants who are not charging station installers must identify a subcontractor Installers must have documented experience Multi-organizational collaboration is allowed, no single entity may be part of multiple proposals for the same corridor 19

Proposal Content Each color designates a different corridor Cities where installation of fast charging stations is required include: Bemidji, Grand Rapids, Detroit Lakes, St. Cloud, Willmar, Marshall, Rochester, and Mankato. One 150 kw charging station is to be installed in the city of Albert Lea. Each proposal must identify one corridor and include installation of all charging stations along that corridor 20

Proposal Content Intent: to increase long distance travel by EV in Minnesota Corridors and cities were chosen in consultation with MN DOT and Drive Electric MN using data on traffic patterns and current and proposed EV infrastructure. 21
