2018 Street Stock Rules (Revised 5/30) The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of racing events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and by participating in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator, or official. The race director shall be empowered to permit reasonable and appropriate deviation from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his/her opinion does not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATION OF SPECIFICATIONS. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Their decision is final. - The Management of Claremont Speedway Since it would be nearly impossible and impractical to list within these rules all modifications, adaptations or infraction, it will be understood that: if it is not covered within the rules below, ASK. In addition Claremont Speedway, (CS), reserves the right to fine, suspend, withhold money and/or points from anyone who is out of line of these rules or any rule infraction. CS reserves the right to modify, delete, amend or update these rules as need be. Drivers, Owners, and Crew Chiefs, it is your responsibility to make sure your car is compliant with the rules set forth for your division. It is not the Tech Officials job to make sure it is compliant. It is the Tech Officials job to make sure it is compliant in post-race inspections. Passing a safety inspection does not mean your car is compliant with the rules set forth for your division. NO CELL PHONES OR SCANNERS WILL BE ALLOWED IN ANY CARS PERIOD. ***ALL CARS ARE SUBJECT TO RANDOM INSPECTION AT ANY TIME***

Bodies 1) Approved models and bodies a. All race cars must be a rear wheel drive American made passenger car with a minimum of 101" wheelbase. 1968 thru 1988 Body Styles Only. No Convertibles or station wagons will be permitted. a. The body must be stock for the frame being used. All body parts must remain in stock appearance. Steel side panels only. 24 Gauge Steel. b. Cars must be clean and neat in appearance weekly. c. All body damage must be repaired weekly. 2) Numbers - All cars must be numbered. Numbers must be painted on both doors and on the roof. 18"minimum height. Roof number must be read from the passenger side of the car. All numbers must be distinctly contrasting to the car color. All cars must have the car number on the upper right hand corner of the windshield with a minimum height of 6" in white. (if we cannot read your number from the tower, you will not be scored) Must have number on right rear on tail piece. 3) Mirrors Peep mirrors only allowed. 4" diameter (Revised 5/30). 4) Seat a. Approved racing type seat is mandatory and must be securely mounted to roll cage only. 6-3/8 bolts with large washers required. b. No fiberglass seats allowed. c. Headrest on both sides is mandatory. 5) Seat Belts a. A quick release 5-point belt with a 3 minimum belt width is required and must be securely mounted to the cage. Hans device belts allowed. All belts must meet official s approval. b. Seat Belts must be 5 years or newer. 6) Window Nets a. Nascar approved net is mandatory. b. Must be mounted to the roll cage. c. No spring loaded release mechanisms. d. An arrow on the roof must mark the release mechanism.

7) Fire extinguishers - An approved working fire extinguisher with a gauge must be securely mounted and within reach of the driver. 8) Batteries- Batteries must be located in the trunk compartment areas only. Batteries must be securely fastened and must be covered with rubber or completely enclosed in a container. No batteries allowed in driver s compartment. 9) Roof - Steel or fiberglass roofs will be allowed. Only stock or stock replacement accepted. 10) Hoods and Deck Lids a. Hood and deck lids may be fiberglass, aluminum or steel. Safety clips must be used with any hinge arrangements. No opening allowed. 11) Fenders and Quarters. a. Must be straight cut or rolled in. b. No rolled out lips. 12) Bumpers and bumper covers a. All bumper covers must be standard for the make and model being used. Models from 1968-1988. Front and rear covers mandatory if it had one. 13) Maximum vent window - The vent window must measure maximum 7" from the base of the A pillar. Vent window may not be tapered back; must go straight up the pillar. 14) Windshield - A full Lexan windshield is required. Quarter windows and rear windows are allowed, but must be made of clear polycarbonate material only. 15) Side Skirts - Side skirts are allowed between wheel openings. They must follow the contour of the body and may not be stepped or angled. Side skirts must make ride height 16) Rear spoilers - A rear solid mounted spoiler may be used. Must not exceed 5" tall and may not extend beyond the body panels of the car. Clear, not smoked, Lexan spoilers only. 17) Any plastic rub rails allowed. If using metal, rail must be 1" x 1" x.090" box tubing. Only one rail per side. This must be tight to the body and have ends cut to 45 degree and capped. Rub rails must be held on with 4 --5/16" minimum diameter button head screws or carriage bolts. End bolts must be within 2'' from the ends of the rails. They must be straight with no sharp edges. Will be monitored and if found noncompliant, they will be repaired or removed immediately. NO EXCUSES. 18) Interior Sheet Metal a. All interior sheet metal must be a minimum 22 gauge steel. Drivers must be separated from the engine and the trunk area.

b. The front firewalls must be completely enclosed. c. The rear firewall must fully separate driver from trunk, and may go to rear crossbar of roll cage, behind the driver. Frame & Chassis 1) All frames/chassis must be Stock OEM. No repositioning, elongating, or oversizing of any mounting holes in the frame. Metric frame center C channels may be boxed or replaced with 2" x 4" X 0.090" box tubing. a. Two (2) inch by three (3) inch by 0.083" magnetic steel tubing may be used to replace the frame rails from the rear spring pocket to the rear bumper. The tubing must follow stock dimensions of the frame being used. Tubing must maintain a minimum ground clearance of 11". b. Unibody cars must connect sub-frames with two (2) inch by three (3) inch by 0.090" magnetic steel tubing. c. The center section of the frame may insert tubing to form an X. 2) Thread width is 72 1/2 inches rim to rim 3) No offset cages allowed. 4) Fuel cell - Fuel cell is mandatory. a. The fuel cell must be in the trunk area and as close to the back of the rear end as possible. All cars must have a fuel cell bar. The bar location will be under the back of the car and behind the fuel cell. The bottom of the bar must be below the bottom of the fuel cell and a minimum of 24" wide and fabricated from 1¾" minimum tubing. A 1¾" tubing brace must be welded at each end of the bar (Approximately 45 degrees to the frame rails). It is highly recommended to put a 1 3/4'' vertical upright in the middle. No add-on weight allowed on any part of the fuel cell mounts or bars. There must be a metal frame under the fuel cell with a minimum of three (3), 1" x 1" (minimum dimension allowed), magnetic steel box tubing pieces. The top of the fuel cell must be mounted securely with four (4) 1 ¼" X 1/8'' thick metal straps with two (2) going in each direction. All fuel cells must have a roll over valve in the cell or the vent line. Maximum capacity: 22 gallons. Fuel cell must be enclosed in a 22 gauge steel 0.031" thick magnetic steel container. The bottom of the fuel cell container will be no lower than 10" from the ground with the chassis at race height. A bladder cell is highly recommended. b. Fuel lines will not be allowed in driver s compartment. c. Fuel cell must be centered between the frame rails. 5) Fuel - Only automotive fuel, pump gas or racing fuel allowed, no nitro, alcohol, or octane additives.

6) Fuel Shut Off a. Fuel shut off valve is required in the fuel line. b. The fuel shut off valve s ON and OFF positions must be clearly labeled. c. The valve must be easily accessible to emergency workers. 7) Ballast Weight a. Added weight may be mounted under the car, providing that it is securely bolted to the floor pan and up as high as possible. The weight may not block the area behind the left front tire and the area in front of the left rear tire in order to allow for chassis height to be checked b. Added weight must be magnetic steel or lead only, in block form, and weighing no less than five (5) lbs. per block (no pellets). Added weight must be securely bolted to the frame rail and painted white with the car number stenciled in black. No added weight will be permitted inside the driver s compartment. Weight must be welded in a box or attached with two (2) or more 7/16" minimum diameter, grade 8 bolts and locking nuts. c. Any car loosing ballast weight or found with unmarked weight is subject to a fine. d. The mounting of ballast weight is subject to the approval of Tech Officials. 8) Ground Clearance 5" minimum body, chassis, and all bars and brackets. 9) Car Weight a. All specified weight requirements will be with the driver in driver s seat with helmet in lap. b. The minimum total weight at the beginning of a race will be 3100 lbs. c. Maximum left side weight anytime is 55.0% of total weight. d. Cars underweight or over on left side weight after the feature race will be placed last in finishing order. Fuel per lap allowance will be factored in. 10) A-Frames a. Lower A-frames must remain stock (as manufactured for the frame being used) and unaltered. b. A-frames may not be changed from side-to-side. c. Stock OEM rubber bushings only. 11) Upper A-Frames a. Stock or aftermarket tubular control arms allowed.

b. No adjustable control arms. c. c) Length plus or minus 1/2 inch from OEM upper control arms for make and model being used. Metric - 8" Camaro - 9 1/4'' Full Size GM - 9 1/4'' d. No offset upper control arm shafts allowed. No machining on the cross shaft 12) Sway Bar a. The front end sway bar must be stock 1 pc OEM or a stock OEM replacement. Must be in stock mounting position on the frame and the control arm. b. Maximum diameter is 1 1/2". c. Link pins may be replaced with threaded rod. d. No rear sway bars. 13) Panhard bar - If equipped with a stock panhard bar, it MUST be in stock location and NON- ADJUSTABLE. No modifications. 14) Spindle/Hub a. Spindle may be changed to heavy duty stock appearing 1 piece OEM units for make and model being used. They must be stock bolt on units and not be altered in any way except for the lower ball joint hole may be reamed or tapered to fit the lower ball joint pin. No aluminum spindles. b. Hub/Rotor must be stock OEM. Safety hubs allowed on front only (revised 5/30). 15) Bearings a. All bearings, wheel (front and rear), differential, and transmission must be of stock OEM design. Bearings may be either angle-type cone, straight barrel-type or ball bearing. All bearings, including the rollers, must be magnetic steel only. b. No REM bearings. c. No bearing spacers. 16) Brakes a. Brake systems must be stock OEM hydraulic systems. No aluminum calipers. All four (4) brakes must be in working order. b. No drilling or lightening of any brake parts including backing plates, shoes and pads. c. Aftermarket master cylinders/pedals are allowed. Dual master cylinders allowed. d. Adjustable proportioning valves are allowed front to rear adjustment only.

e. Rear disc brakes allowed. Stock rotors only. 17) Brake Lines - Steel brake lines mandatory. 18) Steering a. The steering linkage and steering box must be stock OEM for the chassis being used. The steering shaft may be removed from the column and securely reinstalled with heim joints. Must have a welded steering shaft stop. b. Stock inner tie rode ENDS must be used. Outer tie rod ends may be heim joints. Adjusters may be aftermarket. c. No rack and pinion unless the model used is STOCK on the chassis from manufacturer. d. No steering quickeners. 19) Coil Springs a. Front and rear steel racing springs are allowed. They must measure minimum five (5) inches in diameter. Springs may use spring spacers and adjusting cups. Rear jacking bolts are allowed. b. The only modification permitted to the spring pocket is the installation of a spring bucket on top of the cross member for a jacking bolt. The remainder of the cross member must be stock. c. No front Jacking bolts. 20) Leaf Springs a. Only steel leaf springs are permitted. b. Leafs may be added on both sides. c. All leafs must be the same width. d. Stock-appearing, adjustable shackles and lowering blocks are allowed. No other modifications allowed. e. Mono leaf springs are allowed. 21) Shocks - Any stock mounted steel, non-rebuildable, non-adjustable shock not exceeding the value of $75.00 per shock. No alterations or modifications to the shocks will be allowed. Shocks may be confiscated at any time for inspection. NO HEIM Joint shocks 22) Trailing Arms a. Must be stock for the year, make and model being used. b. Lower trailing arms must be stock OEM and unaltered. Capital Motorsports Part # CMS7888LA

allowed. c. Upper trailing arms must be stock OEM or capital Motor Sports part # CMS788UA. Maybe be altered for pinion angle. d. Mounting holes and locations must remain Stock OEM. e. Stock OEM rubber bushings only. 23) Suspension Tie Downs - No tie downs or travel limiting devices permitted on the front or rear suspension. 24) Wheels Maximum 8" X 15" wheels. 25) Wheel spacers - Wheel spacers are allowed. Must have 5/8" studs and 1" lug nuts (revised 5/30). 26) Valve stems - No bleed off: type valve stems permitted 27) Track Tire Hoosier 850 supplied by the track. a. Tires must be bought at Claremont Speedway. b. Tires must have documentation. c. No conditioners or softeners allowed. Tires shall not durometer less than 50 at post race inspection. No fluid of any kind is allowed inside of tires. Automatic DQ! General Engine Requirements 1) Crate Engine: The only approved engines for Crate use is the GM Performance Circle Track 602 (Part #88958602). We will not honor any type seals. These engines are subject to tear down if need be or protested. These engines MUST remain stock except for 0.030 overbore on the cylinders. 2) Built Engine a. Stock OEM engines. Engine must be OEM cast iron V8 production block with cast iron heads. The only approved engine block is the Chevrolet: 350 b. The engine block must retain all OEM specifications with the exception of the cylinder overbore and the surfacing of the block deck. c. Stock main bearing caps d. No splade caps are allowed. e. Only stock OEM-type engine bearings will be permitted. No coated bearings. No roller cam type bearings.

f. Only normal OEM-type engine balancing is permitted. 3) Engine Location a. The engine must be in the stock location, centered in the chassis. b. Steel replacement motor mounts are permitted. c. The minimum crankshaft height is 13 ½", measured from the centerline of the crankshaft to the ground. 4) Crankshaft a. Only stock OEM production crankshafts are allowed. The maximum stroke on a Chevrolet will be 3.490. The maximum allowable stroke tolerance will be +/-.010". Regrinding of the rod and main journals to a maximum of 0.030 under standard size is permitted. The following are exceptions for the Chevrolet: Chevrolet must use the OEM large journal crank. Chevrolet may use the following SCAT Crankshafts:1) One-Piece: Part #9-10526 (2) Two-piece: Part #9-10442 b. No machining or polishing of the crankshaft allowed. Standard engine balancing is the only acceptable modification that can be performed on this component. No painting, Teflon coating or REM polishing. c. Minimum crankshaft weights are: GM engines 50 lbs 5) Harmonic Balancer - Only a stock OEM or exact replacement steel harmonic balancer will be allowed. No Fluid dampers 6) Pistons a. Any flat-top three (3) ring aluminum piston is permitted. All three rings must be magnetic steel. b. No portion of the piston may protrude above the top of the block. c. The minimum ring thickness is as follows: compression Rings: 0.43 inches Oil Ring Assembly: 3.0 mm 7) Rods a. Only stock type steel rods will be permitted. All aftermarket connecting rods must be steel sportsman rods with a steel pin. b. Rod length must be stock 5.7''. All rods must be the same length. No H beam rods. Weight is 600 grams. c. Minimum weight for piston, pin, rings, bearing and rod assembly is 1075 grams. 8) Engine Bore - 0.040 maximum overbore.

9) Oil Pan a. Steel aftermarket racing oil pans are permitted b. No external oil coolers allowed. 10) Cylinder Heads a. Only OEM-type cast iron cylinder heads will be permitted. 70cc b. Cylinder Heads must have stock casting numbers visible. c. All factory Chevrolet heads must be factory listed for 70 CC s or greater. Chevrolet may use the following OEM-replacement aftermarket heads: World Product Stock Replacement Series Bare Casting (Part #043600) d. Maximum Valve Size permitted is as follows: Maximum Intake 1.94 Exhaust 1.50 No undercut valves. e. Head studs are not allowed on any cylinder heads. f. All cast lines and insignias must be clearly visible. g. Angle milling, changing the angle of the head gasket surface in relationship to the rest of the head, not permitted. Altering the position or angle of the valve guide is not permitted. The following head modifications are not permitted. Including but not limited to: port matching, flow work, grinding, polishing, beading blasting, or chemical (acid) porting. No internal modifications of any kind, including painting or Teflon coating. Intake or exhaust manifold mounting holes may not be added or relocated. Holes must take standard intake manifold bolts. h. Screw in studs allowed for rockers. 11) Timing Chain a. Any timing chain and gears will be allowed. Gear drive or belt drive-type timing chains are not permitted. b. Degree buttons and offset crank keys will be allowed. 12) Valves - All valves must be identical in appearance and construction as an OEM type valve. No ProFlo, Tulip, Ultra Lite, or Titanium valves will be permitted. No undercut valves stems allowed. 13) Valve Springs and Retainers a. Stock valve springs only. Stock diameter. 1.250 O.D. b. Only steel valve spring retainers are allowed.

c. Only 1.5 ratio stock steel rocker arms will be allowed. No roller rockers. No stud girdles. 14) Valve Job - 3 angle valve job allowed. No more than 3 angles. 15) Camshaft - Only hydraulic or solid camshafts will be permitted. No roller camshafts allowed. Must keep stock firing order. 0.460 lift on intake and exhaust maximum at 0 valve lash. No larger than 0.3066 at the cam lobe. 16) Lifters - Only stock diameter lifters allowed. No roller lifters. No mushroom lifters. 17) Intake Manifold - Only stock cast iron intake or CURRENT PRODUCTION Edelbrock 2101 is allowed on built engines. The intake must remain as manufactured. No acid porting, alterations, adding bolt holes, painting, or coating of the intake will be permitted. 18) Carburetor a. Holley two-barrel model #4412 carburetor must be used. The body, base plate, metering block, and bowl must be a standard Holley 4412 part. Carburetors and/or carburetor components machined from billet materials are not permitted. b. OEM type gaskets, jets and power valve must be used. c. The diameter of every hole in the carburetor must pass the standard pin and tooling gauges as part of our routine inspection process. d. The only changes that will be allowed are as follows: The choke plate and shaft may be removed, but must be permanently sealed. Throttle plate screws may be trimmed flush with shaft e. Body of carburetor and metering block: No polishing, grinding or reshaping of any part. f. Drilling of additional holes or plugging holes is not permitted. g. Choke horn may not be removed. h. Boosters may not be changed. Size or shape must not be altered. i. Venturi area must not be altered in any manner. Casting ring must not be removed. j. Alterations to allow additional air to be picked up below the opening of the venturi such as altered gaskets, base plates, and drilling holes into the carburetor will not be permitted. k. Base plate must not be altered in shape or size. l. The stock Holley 4412 or Stainless Steel Holly part #346 butterflies must be used. They may not be thinned or tapered. The Butterflies must remain as manufactured, and must maintain the Holley production tolerance thickness of.0438" to.0398". Idle holes may be drilled in butterflies. Screw ends may be cut even with the shaft but screw heads must remain standard.

m. Throttle shaft must remain standard and must not be thinned or cut in any manner. 19) Carburetor Spacer a. One spacer/adapter, made of solid material, is allowed. Maximum height of one (1) inch will be permitted. b. No wedge shape spacers/adapters will be allowed. Both the top and bottom surfaces must be parallel. c. Port holes must be vertical to the top and bottom. Beveling, tapering, flaring, opening, or radiusing of port hole(s) is not permitted. Only one 0.075" gasket per side of the spacer will be allowed. The spacer may not be stepped or undercut. 20) Air Cleaner/Filter a. Only a round, maximum four (4) inch high air filter element is allowed. The air cleaner top and bottom must be solid metal, measuring 12" to 14". b. Air filter may not be sprayed or soaked with chemicals. c. No air boxes are permitted. d. No forced induction. e. Air cleaners must remain under the hood. 21) Exhaust a. Any stock fitting manifold permitted. b. Headers will be permitted, 1 5/8'' maximum steel tube street type headers only. No coated headers. c. Mufflers are mandatory. Must meet 96 decibels. Up to techs discretion. 22) Ignition a. Only Stock 12 volt OEM-type HEI distributors, using factory production firing order, are permitted. b. No MSD boxes. No rev-limiters. c. Only stock coils are permitted. GM must have the coil in the cap. No MSD or super coil-type coils. 23) Engine Cooling System a. Radiators must remain in the stock OEM location. No coolers allowed inside the radiator tanks.

Must have an overflow can. Overflow can must have a vent line exiting the right front cowl or the right rear tail piece.. No Antifreeze! b. Aluminum radiator allowed. 24) Water Pump a. Only stock OEM water pumps are allowed. 25) Radiator Fan - Manual or electric radiator fan is permitted. A shroud must cover the top of the fan if mechanical fan is used. Running Gear 1) Clutch & Flywheel a. Must have steel blow proof bell housing. b. The clutch and pressure plate must be stock OEM steel. No modifications of any kind are permitted. The minimum diameter for the clutch and the pressure plate is 10.4". c. Only steel flywheel and pressure plates allowed. d. No paddle clutch discs. e. Minimum weights are as follows: Flywheel: 15 lbs.; Pressure Plate: 13 lbs.; Clutch Disc: 4.0 lbs. 32 lbs total. 2) Crate Engine: Clutch & Flywheel -The crate engine must use the GM flywheel (Part # 14088646), and weigh at least 14.50 lbs. 31.5 lbs total. 3) Transmission a. Only OEM production stock 3 & 4 speed transmissions will be permitted. All internal parts must be stock. Gear ratio must be of stock OEM production. b. No aluminum transmissions. c. Machining or lightening of any internal rotating or non-rotating parts including gears, shafts and case is not permitted. d. Auxiliary, over or under drive transmissions are not permitted. High gear must have a ratio of 1 to 1. e. NO REM parts. f. Must have all working gears.

g. Automatics allowed. Stock full size torque converters only. Torque converter must function. 4) Rear Ends a. Stock rears for chassis being used. b. Ford 9" may be used. Lower trailing arm bolt holes must be 3 9/16'' on center from center of axle tube. c. No floater or wide 5 rears. d. No quick change rears. e. No REM parts. f. Locked rear ends only. No limited slip differentials. g. Standard production gears only, no lightening or offset spool with thin gears. 5. Axle Shafts a. Solid steel, aftermarket axles are allowed. Axles must retain all stock dimensions. b. A c-clip eliminator is strongly recommended. c. A heavy duty axle must be used in the right rear On GM rears. 6. Drive shaft - Must be steel. Must be painted white. 7. Drive shaft hoops a. Mandatory two 1/4'' X 2'' steel hoops must be securely mounted 360 degrees around the drive shaft. b. One near the front of the shaft and one near the back of the shaft. If you find a loop hole in the rules, the loop will be around your neck.
