The goal of this publication, funded in part by the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation, is to provide citizens from all of the ERCSWMA-member communities with information - and motivation - they need to fully participate in their municipal recycling programs. Services provided by the ERCSWMA to Member Communities Preparation & implementation of approved solid waste management plan, including all reporting and all interaction with NYSDEC Long term waste disposal contract with a well-run, wellinsured and fully permitted waste disposal site Household Hazardous Waste collections days Electronics recycling Grant writing and administration Oversight of the ERC Community Warehouse, reuse center Marketing of recyclables Procurement and maintenance of roll offs for cleanup days and recyclables Transportation contract and scheduling for roll offs containing MSW, recyclables and C&D from community transfer stations to disposal sites/markets, including special needs and follow up issues Development and production of educational materials Outreach and positive publicity though local outlets Community clean up days for bulky items, scrap metals, tires, etc. Assistance with local waste/recycling collection bids and contracts Reduction/Reuse/Recycling events and research Technical assistance to residents, business or government leaders regarding waste and recycling issues Economical, permitted sludge management (if requested) Legislative updates regarding solid waste and other environmental issues Tracking and reporting of waste generation and recycling rates; solid waste management costs and trends What you can and cannot recycle for 2018 Acceptable Items: All Plastic Bottles & Containers (#1-7) with Caps & Lids ATTACHED.
