Any front engine, front or rear wheel drive car with a maximum wheelbase of 104 inches. B. No independent rear suspension on rear wheel drive cars allowed. Volkswagen Beetles will be allowed. No four wheel drive vehicles allowed. 2. CHASSIS: A. Wheelbase must be stock, no tube or racing chassis allowed. B. Car frame and body must remain stock and be of the same make and model. C. Any steel springs that are stock appearing may be used, however, they must remain in stock location. Only one spring per wheel assembly. D. Steering components must remain stock. E. No racing or coil over shocks. F. Struts must remain absolutely stock. No adjustable struts. G. NO aftermarket sway bars allowed. H. Shackles must be in stock location. Rear adjustable shackles are allowed. 3. BODIES: A. All body parts must remain factory O.E.M. parts and must retain factory measurements. All body parts must remain in original mounts. 1

B. All body parts must be stock appearing. C. Fenders may be trimmed to clear tires and must be rolled inside. D. All cars will start race with all body parts in place, unless approved by pit boss or tech man. Appearance will be neat and clean at all times. E. No holes in hood or deck except for air cleaner. F. No spoilers in rear or on top of car. G. Stock floorboards and firewalls to remain intact. Holes must be covered with 20gauge steel. Full firewall required between driver and fuel cell compartment with all holes covered with 20gauge steel. H. Doors to be welded or bolted shut. I. All pot metal, chrome, glass and burnable material must be removed. J. Trunk and hood to be secured with hood pins. K. All cars to be neatly painted and numbered. Numbers are to be a minimum of 18 inches high and placed on both sides and the roof. Place roof numbers so as to be read from the passenger side. NO REFLECTIVE NUMBERS NO NUMBERS ON QUARTER PANEL. L. Three evenly spaced strong vertical bars to be installed in windshield opening in front of driver with a maximum 5/8 x 5/8 mud screen securely attached. M. Bumpers must be stock appearing with no sharp edges or ends that will hook other racecars. N. Front and rear bumpers may be reinforced with tubing not to exceed 1 ½ O.D. O. Side rub rails of maximum 1 ½ O.D. steel tubing allowed. Must be located within 2 of body skin and ends will be angled 90 degrees toward body so as not to hook other racecars. 4. ENGINES: A. Maximum 2300cc series four cylinder engine. Must be of the same manufacturer as the rest of the car. No rotary engines allowed. B. Engine must remain in stock location. C. No oil coolers, accu sumps, dry sumps, or external oiling systems allowed. D. Only one cam per engine. No roller cams or after market cam pulley. E. No titanium parts allowed. F. Intake manifold must remain stock and unaltered. NO adapters over 1 inch high and NO porting. NO EFI intake manifolds. G. Stock cast iron exhaust manifolds ONLY. H. No after market or factory headers. I. Must use stock lifters for motor size and type. 2

5. ELECTRICAL: A. No magnetos of any kind. Electronic ignition will be allowed as long as it is stock for that make and model. B. No dual point distributors. C. Stock equipment only. No aftermarket, high performance or made for racing equipment. D. Engines must be self starting. 6. CARBURETORS AND FUEL: A. One two barrel downdraft carburetor with a minimum two throttle return springs, which must work independently of each other. B. RESTRICTOR PLATES REQUIRED! Plate between carb base and manifold, in addition to adapter, will be added with an opening of 1 ¼ inch per barrel ( no larger or smaller ) and maximum thickness of ¼ inch. (engine must idle at 800 RPMs or less) C. Pump gasoline only. No nitrous oxide, alcohol or nitro methane allowed. NO RED/BLUE fuel. D. No fuel injection or turbo chargers allowed. E. If fuel lines run through drivers compartment they must be enclosed in steel or steel braided lines with no fittings. F. 16 gallon maximum fuel cell separated from drivers compartment and properly secured with a minimum ground clearance of 12 inches. Fuel cells are mandatory. G. Stock fuel pump only. If electric pump is used it must turn off with ignition or properly labeled ignition or kill switch. 7. WHEELS AND TIRES: A. Any steel wheel with a maximum of 7 inch width. No bead locks. B. Any street D.O.T. tire with a maximum width of 8 inches. No aftermarket or racing tires of any type or brand (subject to track officials decision). C. 3/8 maximum tread width on all tires. All tires must remain unaltered. D. Front wheel drive cars must run a maximum of 6 width tire. 8. BRAKES: A. Must have stock four wheel brakes in good working order. B. No adjustable proportioning valves allowed. 3

9. SAFETY: A. A high back, left turn racing seat only. Aluminum recommended. B. Seat must be mounted to roll cage in steel frame and secure. C. Drivers harness will be a five (5) point design with 3 lap straps and 2 shoulder straps securely and properly mounted to roll cage. NO old, faded, or frayed belts allowed, BELTS MUST BE LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD. D. Drivers approved window net mandatory. Nets to be properly attached to roll cage and are to be released from the top. Nets must be tech approved. E. Wrist restraints are mandatory if vehicle is a convertible. F. Helmet must be rated Snell 2000 or newer. G. Fire suits mandatory, in good condition with no holes. Fireproof gloves and boots recommended. H. Must have a minimum 2 ½ lb fire extinguisher mounted in a quick release bracket within easy reach of the driver. Extinguisher must have a current certification tag at all times. 10. ROLL CAGE: A. Full 4 post with one diagonal and two back braces with a minimum of 1 ½ O.D. x.095 wall steel tubing with gussets on all roll bar and door bar corners or minimum of 1 5/8 O.D. x.095 wall steel tubing properly welded without gussets. No galvanized or black pipe. B. Three horizontal bars with two connecting braces on drivers side and two horizontal bars with two connecting braces on passenger side. Connecting bars to be welded to frame. C. In all uni body cars roll cage must have a minimum ¼ x 4 steel plate under roll bar posts and under floor pan secured by 4 7/16 minimum bolts each, or attached to frame rail. D. Extra reinforcement allowed. MAKE ROLL CAGES SAFE! 11. MISCELLANEOUS: A. Steel or lead ballast may be added but must be secured by a minimum of two (2) ½ bolts and painted white with car number on it. No ballast to be installed in driver s compartment. B. Drivelines must be painted white and must be secured by a steel loop 1 inch wide and ¼ inch thick, 12 inches back from front U joint. No aluminum drive shafts. 4

C. Flywheels must have approved scatter shields. Quarter inch steel plate or belt: minimum 180 degrees. D. A rear cross member of 2 inch round or square tubing is required between fuel tank and rear bumper. E. All cars must have a hook, chain or eye welded to the front and rear of the car for quick and easy removal from the track. Failure to do so will result in a fine of $25.00 for each night without one. F. NO racing clutches. OEM only, must have tech inspection hole. G. NO REAR VIEW MIRRORS! 12. CLAIM RULES: A. The claim amount is $1,100 (cash only) to be paid DURING the first ten minutes after the drop of the checkered flag of the A Main event. B. A person can only claim a specific car once per season, but can claim as many different numbered cars as they like. C. If the claim is accepted, the driver/owner of the claimed car can remove the seat, harness, fuel cell, and fire extinguisher on the spot. At that time a deal between the car owner and claimer can be made for the equipment. D. The claimer must enter and drive at the next scheduled event to the S.O.S. track. E. If you refuse the claim, you will not race at Southern Oregon Speedway for two (2) weeks and forfeit any winnings and/or points for the night. A fine of $100 will also be included. RULES WILL BE TECHED TO THE INTENT, NOT THE LETTER! TECH MAN DECISION IS FINAL. IF IT DOES NOT SAY YOU CAN..THEN YOU CAN T!!! 5
